What is your opinion on ecchi?Do you think it's degrading to women?Do you think it's kind of awkward watching it?
Personally,I share a room with my brother and it would pretty awkward to watch it while he's in the room, otherwise I'd probably enjoy it.Also do you think a person watching anime(specifically ecchi)would be bullied or be socially judged for it?

Well, anyone who's just not used to it will dislike it. Give me guro or scat anime anyday, it's lulz to watch.
But yeah, watching porn/hentai/ecchi stuff with other people will always be awkward. In my case, It'd even get awkward if I watched any normal anime.

I'd just keep these hobbies to yourself.

Yeah,I agree keeping hobbies like this to yourself is the best solution.

I don't really like watching H-show...

but... sigh boundary between echii anime and hentai are vague nowadays

and somehow it's not even funny when I watch something that should be a normal echii anime but it turns out to be hentai

so yeah... I prefer to filter my anime search... something with plot and good story only no hentai... except visual novel cause normally it has good story

I don't mind fanservice in my anime. I don't go for straight ecchi shows anymore though.

i dont like ecchi in general, its nothing deep, its just the elements that make a thing go ecchi that i dont like.

I love ecchi, and it's no more degrading to women than it is to men. There's stereotypes abound. I mostly watch ecchi for the comedy and plot which has sexual themes, rather than just the pornographic nature of it.
If i wanted porn, I have petabytes of delicious hentai. I don't really give a shit about that. Although, if some hentai were as funny as top ecchi titles, they'd make their way to the top of my list pretty quickly too.

I love watching ecchi. It's probably the genre (if you could call it that) I watch the most. It's not all I watch, nor are my favorite anime show necessarily ecchi; but it's definitely in the forefront.
I don't care about watching it around friends. In fact, I recommend shows for them to watch, and some of them are ecchi. But I tend to avoid watching it while I'm at home. It's just... not something I'd rather do.

Ecchi doesn't really get me in the right vibe anymore, seeing as I've watched so many that one can just say "x is going to happen, y is going to see it, and z will occur as a result"

As for where I watch it, I'll do it anywhere. I wanna ride a public bus watching it in full view of others and see their reactions.

As long as it is entertaining, I don't mind. For example, Ladies vs. Butlers was fun and entertaining but Fight Ippatsu Juuden-Chan was a disaster.

probably not the best idea, do you see people viewing softcore porn in public? i hope not. its probably the same with anime, severely frowned upon and/or illegal.

I like to refer to ecchi as "cockblock hentai." Because a lot of them pretty much have everything except any actual sex.

I personally don't watch any sort of ecchi/hentai out in public, but if I'm in my room and someone happens to waltz by, I don't give a fuck.

I never had shit for watching anime out in public, It's just the people that try and make a big deal to get attention are the ones who get looked at funny.

Joining the party a little late here, but the more panties the better! I often find myself tilting my head to look up skirts in anime, so episode 2 of Oreimo S2 cracked me up (Kirino attempts the same thing).

I learned the hard... poor choice of words. Uhm, I learned the stupid way to not watch a borderline hentai with female friends. Not because I found it awkward, but because I was too busy concentrating on something... else to enjoy the show.

i also watch ecchi stuff also the borderline H up to H. sometimes, i like the stuffs, but it changes when the show is full of fanservice and nothing else. For example, I like HighSchool DxD and Papa Kiki because there's a deep story, but I don't like KissXSiss.

I think most people probably would look down on Ecchi styled anime's but most people who get into anime eventually start watching anime with Ecchi in, though usually airing away from doing so in public or being vocal about it.

Personally as long as its got a good story line and entertaining I'll watch it with or without Ecchi I don't mind. I do however tend to watch series with little or no Ecchi when I'm on the bus (tablet) or when my Wife and Kids are awake and keep the more Ecchi stuff for when I'm at home and the kids are in bed.

Saying that, High School of the Dead was full of it and the Wife enjoying Zombie/Vampire styled films and Anime watched that one with me.

Anyway... Its a personal thing but I do feel that people new to anime wouldn't understand and probably would frown upon Ecchi...

And now I'll shut up... :D

I found so much in Oreimo dangerously relatable. It was a good meta on Otaku culture, ignoring the incest and terrible ending.

well, I got anime mostly from my brother so.. I don't really mind when talking or watching about ecchi ...

but the problem is, seiyuu a.k.a voice actress...(because mostly ecchi refer to girls)

the sound when they moan or something like that... bad.. really bad (NSFW)

I love the ecchi genre, it's very enjoiable to watch. Also most scenes are very funny. Ecchi is one of my favourite genres and I don't know, why peaple are bitching about it..
