Well to update on my situation, I fixed the problem by reinstalling Windows 8.1. No idea what was going on before but the issue seems to be gone now. This "nuke it from orbit" approach of just starting fresh seems to have worked out, so thanks for all the help everyone.

Default How to get rid of video judder

Hello, I would like to thank you for the great job done with KCP.
I am experiencing an issue with video judder. I read it could be caused by a mismatching between video fps and display refresh rate.
The fact is my display supports only 60 Hz and I cannot change it to my needs.
Almost all the media I happen to play is 23.976 fps and make you feel very dizzy when played.
I also read this could be solved by using Reclock but, in spite of all my trials, nothing has changed or improved.
What can I do to get rid of the judder?
If I select "Frame rate found in cache. You can change it: 30 fps" in Reclock options, the little clock in the tray becomes green but nothing else changes.

What's actually different about MPCBE? I just tried it and it seems identical to MPCHC other than the UI change, which looks just as ugly as default MPCHC to me

Seems like a waste of time.

    google.
tl;dr - vaying levels of support for features and bug fixes.

since HC and BE are forks its no effort on my part to supply a BE version.

green means its adapting properly to your refresh rate
open up reclock settings and change the framerates to unknown because:

Niyawa: I found that's actually kinda bad, because some videos don't tell madvr what is their true fps nature
Niyawa: which means that reclock will use 24 fps for 30 fps videos, and that fucks up the adaptation process
Niyawa: the best is to leave it unknown, so reclock will do an auto-check, which is a lot more accurate

my personal preference is to use smooth motion in madvr w/ hollywood movies over reclock
