If you are wondering what the post title means, allow me to tell you ๐Ÿ˜€ The SH-06D NERV (hint hint!), is the first official Evangelion smarphone on the market as of late June of this year.

According to the official site and the product’s page, the device will be limited to thirty thousand copies, so chances you get your hands on one of them will be pretty small. However, ย if you still want to adventure yourself in such an arduous quest, NTT Docomo is starting pre-orders on June 16th (Good luck bro, you’ll be competing against me on this! >_>).

And now for the juicy handheld details and specifications! (Photography courtesy of The Verge)

  • The skin/theme of the phone follows the design of the MAGI System in such a neat way, it’s all about the orange, green, red and black! The only downside is that the everyday-apps we use will show up with their default icons… ๐Ÿ™

  • It takes a while to get used to it, but once you know your way around, you’ll have lots of information at your disposition. Everything from the weather, to your latitude and longitude, to the amount of memory available, to the cool music player integrated. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • The phone features a 4.5-inch 3D 720p (1280 x 720) LCD screen, the dimensions are 128mm ร—ย 66mm ร— 11.8mm (height, width and thickness, respectively) and it weighs about 145g.

  • It possesses by default a textured back panel emblazoned with the NERV logo which can be changed for a MAGI one instead.
  • The front camera is a simple VGA while the one in the back panel has an 8 megapixel resolution.

  • The device also features 1 GB of space which can be upgraded to up to 32 GB with external microSD cards (2 GB microSD included).

I honestly recommend taking a look at the device’s site for more pictures, such as the MAGI home screen, the contact list and general usage of the phone, the “Attack of the 8th Angel” mini-game and other contents!!

The following English-language PV was released not long ago and it demonstrates the capabilities of the phone~

Music artist DAIGO, a big Evangelion fan, gives his opinion about the handheld jewel on the video embedded below. It’s in Japanese, though, so unless you know Japanese you’ll have a hard time following up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you for reading! ๐Ÿ˜€
