Bandai Namco have revealed that Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be delayed in both Western regions, whilst the Japanese release of the game will release as scheduled on February 5th. The game was initially scheduled to release on February 17 in North America and will now release on February 24. In Europe, it was to release on February 15, but will now release 8 days later on February 27. Dragon Ball Xenoverse will release on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on the new dates. The game will also release on the PC via Valve’s Steam service, but on the 27th of February worldwide, with the European release of the game.

Bandai Namco Games have stated the following in regards to the delay:

DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE Shifts Its Launch Date to February 27th in Europe, Middle-East and Australasia [February 24th in North America].

In order to ensure the highest possible gameplay experience for our fans; we will be moving the DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE launch date to February 27, 2015, on Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC Steam.

Apart from the delay, the publisher have also released a plethora of new screenshots for the game, over 50 in fact.

The game will also have a playable scenario based on the most recent film in the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. You will be able to relive the movie in its comedic and action scenes, controlling Goku in his new form and even unlocking Beerus and his attendant Whis as playable characters.

Bandai Namco have also released some new images of the character models from the game:

The game itself will be developed by Dimps, who produced the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai series for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, and Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit for the PlayStation 3. The game will feature a full 3D fighting and destructible environments similar to recent titles in the franchise. One major new feature of the game is that it has an original story and a new player created custom character. The game involves time travel where a bunch of demons, named Mira and Towa (from Dragon Ball Online) have affected the timeline of the series. The Supreme Kai of Time notices this problem and calls the aid of a new mysterious character from the future, you.

The game is initially set in Tokitoki City where players will be able to meet a different version of Trunks, where he will send the player back in time in order to fix the time distortions created by the demonic pair. Here is where the player can create their own character, a similar premise to Dragon Ball Online. Players can choose the race of their character from Earthling, Namekian, Majin and Frieza. Bandai Namco has released some new screenshots of the customisable races from the game, as well as some visuals of the default custom character – with red hair.

Here are the latest trailers for the upcoming game:

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is the upcoming instalment in Dragon Ball’s long running franchise of games. It will be developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco Games. It will be Dimps’ 11th game in the franchise, with their last game being Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit for the PlayStation 3. Over 50 games have been developed based on Akira Toriyama’s top selling manga of the same name, since 1986 – two years after the manga’s debut. The series even spawned a MMO titled Dragon Ball Heroes which released for the PC.
