Those of us who are horror fanatics (like myself) always search for that one thing that will keep us up at night checking under the bed and in the closet to see if there are any abnormal entities lying in wait planning our demise. Most, if not all, of us should be familiar with the name Junji Ito, the famous horror master stationed in Japan. His works are vastly popular among the thriller-loving crowd. Such titles as Uzumaki, Gyo, and Tomie are only a few of his successful works.

These images are startling. They get your skin to crawl and the hairs on the back of your necks to stand on end…but what if they were real?

This talented woman does just that, by cosplaying the truly gruesome and woeful characters of Junji Ito’s creations, bringing nightmares to life.

Note that you can also expect a live-action Chinese adaptation of his horror manga short stories. Just a few you can except are Soichi no Katte na Noroi, Kassohei no Iru Ie, Rojiura, and Umeku Haisuikan, as well as Ito’s Shibito no Koiwazurai manga. The characters, settings, and scenarios will be altered to fit the Chinese culture and style, but we are still excited to stay up all night watching these striking stories unveil. You can expect to see the adaptation premiere this year on iQIYI Chinese streaming video service.

Viz Media previously published Ito’s Uzumaki manga, which inspired a live-action film. Viz Media also published Ito’s Gyo manga, which inspired an OVA. ComicsOne published Ito’s Tomie, which also inspired live-action films.

Viz Media has published Ito’s Fragments of Horror manga, ComicsOne has also published his Flesh Colored Horror manga, Dark Horse Comics has published his Museum of Terror manga, and Kodansha Comics has published his Junji Ito’s Cat Diary: Yon & Mu manga.
