Persona 5 is set in Tokyo, and with all the teasers and videos being released for the next big hit in the Persona franchise, it seems that many fans have found some of the real areas where locations in the game were modeled after.

One of the locations that peaked the interest of fans was Yongenjaya, the place where the protagonist lives. The place’s name is actually a play on words. The real location is Sangenjaya, which is located just west of Shibuya. It’s actually a play of words, with “yon” meaning four, and “san” meaning three.

From supermarkets to cafes Atlus did a wonderful job researching the area of Tokyo to give an authentic feel to the atmosphere in their newest addition to the Persona franchise, Persona 5.
