Girls und Panzer (ガールズ＆パンツァー) - In the world, the manipulation of tanks (Sensha-do) is one of the traditional martial arts especially for girls. Miho doesn’t like Sensha-do and moves to Oarai Girl’s High School. But the chairperson of the student council orders Miho to participate in the national Sensha-do championship.

A show scheduled to hit the public on fall of 2012, according to the official site. Lantis began streaming the PV of the show earlier today, announcing also the production crew and the main cast:

So you must have noticed the awesome XDCC feature over on the main site. Now you’re wondering how what it is? XDCC (Xabi DCC or eXtended DCC) is a computer file sharing method which uses the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) network as a host service. You can read more about it here.

First you will need an IRC client, mIRC works fine. We will be using irc.rizon.net as the server.

Now lets config the client (ALT + O to open options):

Once you’ve done this, lets try it out! Now go to any anime page on Haruhichan. Pick an anime you want to download via XDCC. I will use Acchi Kocchi as an example.

see the XDCC search button? choose which episode you want and click it. I want episode 5 by commie, so I click the XDCC Search button for that episode.

A window like this should appear, now click any of the releases to grab the code.

The ‘/msg Aho-da xdcc send #2347′ should be highlighted when you click a release, copy it and paste it into your client and hit enter (You can type it anywhere, status window, pm box or any channel) We are using mIRC as an example here.

Once pasted into your client, you should get a message like this. Click accept.

Now you can finally enjoy and abuse the new feature!

Personally I use a program called MangaMeeya. It’s a very easy program to use, it accepts most formats including .rar (I hope you aren’t unraring .rar’s to read manga!) just drag and drop a .rar into the program and done. You could just file > open and navigate to the file if you wish.

Oh reading manga on the computer isn’t good enough for you? You own a kindle and you’re looking for a program to mass convert manga to read on the kindle? I would suggest kindlemanga. The picture below is self explanatory.

Summary:
60 years ago, a young woman was left to die in the abandoned school building behind the exclusive Seikyou Academy. No one knows why. No one knows how. But the horrifying tale and the legends of the ghostly haunting that followed live on to this day. Perhaps it’s not so surprising then, that among Seikyou’s many school clubs is one for students interested in “paranormal investigations.” What might raise more than a few hairs, however, is that the founder of the club is the ghost herself. Unable to remember how she died and trapped in the grey land between life and death, Yuuko latches onto Teiichi Niiya, a freshman who can inexplicably see her, and together they and the other unsuspecting members of the club begin to unravel the many dark mysteries that surround Seikyou. Will unlocking the secret of Yuuko’s gruesome death finally free her? Or will her sudden close association with a mortal have even stranger repercussions on both of their existences?

Another series with an interesting premise. This time instead of a kawaii zombie we have one hot ghost but still…..they’re both dead T_T. To tell you the truth I’m not expecting much from the story since it only revolves around finding clues on why and how Yuuko died. Four episodes in, the story isn’t moving at all since so far all the characters did is to get involve in various school mysteries that involves our ghost but instead of acquiring clues all they got were just explanation why that mystery happened (though the explanation/reasons are really hilarious because it is mostly due to our ghost’s pranks). Maybe the first few eps are just for build up and meeting new characters but its only a 12 ep anime so I think they shouldn’t be wasting any time. Hmmmm maybe I watched this show with a different expectation (I expected a serious horror anime with romance but it was really a comedy…how the hell did I miss that? ) that’s why I have those rants but when I’ve set my expectations in the right path, I’ll say that this show is doing great since with every episodes I watch, it never failed to make me laugh (imagine trying to stifle my laugh at 3am in the morning so that I won’t wake up people sleeping wwww). I watched this in a dark room expecting to get scared and it did scare me…scared me that I’ll get scolded for waking up my parents wwww. This show’s take on why people see ghost differently and why some people can’t see ghosts is very interesting. So far this show have been very successful un entertaining me but I want the show to get back on the plot. Sure I’m enjoying it but what matter to me most is the plot and it’s a pity since as the series progress, the focus have been more on the light hearted mysteries and character build up than getting back on track with the plot.

Just like other male lead this season, Amnesia also have one bland character. Just like other male lead on your generic harem show, Teiichi doesn’t do anything when he’s being sexually harassed by our mischievous ghost (I think he enjoys it anyway….I envy this guy >.<) and so far doesn’t contribute much to the story. The girls of the harem are more interesting than the male lead (is he really the protagonist?). Yuuko is the ghost that make this show interesting since because of her antics, advances to Teiichi (what a lolicon wwww did you know Teiichi is only 12 years old?) and her mysterious death (I hope this show won’t forget to tackle this part). My favorite scene so far is when Teiichi found her skeleton and I thought she’ll go berserk and attack him but instead she was embarrassed because she said seeing her skeleton is like seeing her naked (((o(*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)o))) wwwwwwwww. Kirie is another interesting character since in ep 5 it is revealed that she’s an insecure person on the inside which is contrary to my first impression of her. Momoe is also fun to watch since she has this ‘genki’ (energetic) attitude but she pales in comparison with the two girls I mentioned before but still, good job for the waitress costume you put on Kirie.

OMG SHAFT is that you? Nope…Silver Link is the one who animated this but it seriously looks and feels like Shaft with the way the still frames and camera angles are being directed and animated. Surprisingly, the style fits the series and is successful in setting the atmosphere right may it be comedy or eerie scenes. The character designs are lovely (Man, Yuuko and Kirie looks gorgeous) and the colors specially the color of dusk which is orange and in contrast with the black (which is frequently used in the series) is also very nice to my eyes.

The OP(“CHOIR JAIL (クワイア ジェイル)” by Konomi Suzuki) and ED(“Calendrier (カランドリエ)” by Aki Okui) song is also very misleading just like the summary of this series. The overall feel is like your going to watch a horror-mystery series with that very solid voice work and eerie arrangement. I like both songs but I prefer the OP more because its very upbeat as for the ED it sounds eerie and melancholic. The OP and ED animation is also commendable with its very fluid animation, very good direction and it looks like I’m watching music video. Another reason is I’m very fond of OP and ED animation where the main characters lip synch with the song.

A very entertaining series mainly because of the comedy and quirky characters but plot-wise I’m quite disappointed because its not moving at all. I’m just hoping the writers could pull off a good ending or else I’ll be definitely pissed since they’ve wasted the potential of the series or hopefully they’ll get back in track with the story. Oh btw to those who are not used with fanservice this show won’t be your cup of tea but if you like comedy and an interesting premise I guess you can try and watch this show but I won’t guarantee a good ending.

I’m almost positive it’s due to the fact she has the most unique character design…

It was a while ago when I finally watched Amagami SS and I fell completely in love with the anime. I guess watching the Haruka arc would do that to a person when they value closure more than anything else in the world. It was weird at first to see him suddenly fall in love with another girl in a different arc after Haruka, but I quickly got over it after falling in love with the girls. Even though each arc was only 4 episodes, it was enough for me to establish likes and dislikes for all the characters. Even if you argue the Junichi was basically a self-insert or an idiot, I enjoyed him a lot more than most other harem MCs.

Don’t worry, no one can replace my love for you, MANkoto.

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a huge fan of most of the arcs. While I liked the show’s premise of “everybody wins”, most of the other girls were kind of boring. Let’s take Ai Nanasaki for example. She constantly wins popularity contests, but to me, I can’t remember a shred of her arc. I’m pretty sure it had something to do with swimming and a outdoor bath, but that’s all that I remember. I don’t even remember the big overall problem that he solves in the end or if there even was one. I heard her arc in Amagami SS+ just made her out to be a pretty whiny. (EDIT:Turns out that I did watch her arc, but I guess it was so boring that I completely forgot everything about it. Sorry~!) I guess that was a similar fate that Kaoru Tanamachi received in her Amagami SS+ arc. From my understanding, she basically comes out as a whiny girl who spends all of her money frivolously while ignoring the fact that she actually works hard for her money.

I don’t actually know what she does, but I do hope she keeps doing it.

This brings me to the next two girls that I haven’t mentioned, Sae Nakata and Rihoko Sakurai. I actually enjoyed both of their arcs in Amagami SS. Sae’s arc was pretty good and the Narrator only made it better with his beautiful, beautiful voice. I have to admit that the scene with the wedding dress was probably one of the most touching moments in the series. Once you find out how she acquired the dress, you fall in love a little bit more. It’s just a shame that the ending is so stupid. (Just a note, I’m about to have some minor spoilers, if you don’t want to read them, skip the rest of this paragraph.) Is he filming a porn shoot with his girlfriend and sister at the end? It doesn’t make any sense. Rihoko’s arc on the flipside was good because it was basically a train crash the entire time. I knew she wasn’t going to win, but it was still an enjoyable time.

Let’s go full circle back to Ayatsuji-san and Haruka’s arcs. I still believe that Haruka had the best arcs in both Amagami SS and Amagami SS+. It had everything you could possibly ask for including butchered English. The closure to both of the arcs was just fantastic. Which I’m now going to spoil so just skip the rest of the paragraph if you haven’t seen it and don’t want it to be spoiled. In all of anime, there’s only a few things that give me ultimate closure at the end of a story and one of those things happen to be marriage. This gives me that warm feeling of knowing that everything ended well and that they’ll be happy for the rest of their lives as opposed to many real life counterparts. They seem so very happy at the end that it just warms my heart. Both endings were heartwarming and the proposal in Amagami SS+ is what made Haruka hold on to her top arc spot.

I think the flying also helps her keep the top spot.

As for Ayatsuji-san’s arc which I’m about to spoil, so please stop reading and skip to the next paragraph if you’re one of THOSE people. Amagami SS’s ending was amazing for the simple fact that was can safely assume that they’re married and they have a child together. How much more closure could I still possibly ask for? However, there’s one thing that stands out the most which makes Ayatsuji-san lose compared to Haruka’s arc. She still seems unsure about her happiness. She still has some of those dark feelings that were never quite explained. We never found out about the notebook nor did we ever find out why she hates her sister. Ayatsuji-san could have easily gotten an anime and I would have been more than behind watching it because frankly, her arc leaves too many questions unanswered. However, it’s her personality out of all the girls that I fell in love with the most. I enjoy the two sides to her and I really enjoy her “darker” personalty more than anything. If I ever could decide what they of girl to date, I would choose someone close to Ayatsuji-san.

If you almost reverse-NTR her, she kisses you. How can you beat that?

In conclusion, Amagami has some wonderful girls. Some are absolutely the best while others can be completely forgettable. However there’s one thing almost all Amagami fans can agree with. You know what that is? Fuck Risa.

Go back into that bush and die, okay?

Alongside with the new title in the Project DIVA series, the Vita is also getting a new look, with the Limited Edition 初音ミク Playstation Vita in Crystal White launching on the 20th of August. (So get your wallets ready. I certainly am.)

You know, the DEEP scenes.

After only three episodes, my will to watch this anime has become stalled.

Probably when I realized the above scene will never happen in length.

However, I think it’s more than that just that. I think it has to do with the fact that I have a fear of the anime going absolutely nowhere just as the manga has gone. I know there are people who would disagree with me, but the manga has simply not gone anywhere. Their relationship has basically stood still for years with something interesting happening every few months that basically accumulates to nothing. It’s like seeing the snow start the night before a school day only to wake up to 90 degree weather. It’s heart-wrenching to say the least.

Like I said, I’ve only seen the first three episodes of the anime and I believe that there are currently five episodes that have been subbed. I also have heard that the story isn’t being written by the creator. I guess that’s a slight glimmer of hope that their relationship might be different in the anime than it is in the manga, but those first 3 episodes have not helped in the least. They all have been carbon copies of the manga. Even the horrible NTR (imo) chapter was added into the anime. That chapter is just complete poison to the start of their relationship and I still can’t believe they felt it needed to be in the anime.

Someone on the anime team probably has an NTR Drool fetish and I hate them for it.

Maybe I’m wrong about it all. Maybe they feel that the manga was a strong start and they felt they didn’t need to change any of it for the anime. While I would agree on the one-shot being a strong start, I wouldn’t agree with anything else having the same kind of strength that the one-shot had. One-shot Urabe to me is vastly superior to the actual manga Urabe. I was hoping that One-shot Urabe would be the driving force behind anime Urabe, but my hopes have fallen after the first three episodes.

Maybe I should give it a shot. I’m not really watching anything this season with the exception of Haiyore! Nyaruko-san. I have the other two episodes ready to watch. I should probably just sit down and check them out to see if they’ve become any different from the first three. Here’s hoping they are. In closing, I want to leave you with this post from 4chan.

Alright, so here’s a feature list for the new site:

• Style picker, unlimited number of styles are possible and we currently have 2 designed (Haruhi theme and Shinobu theme) we’re designing more as I write this
• Anime slideshow on the frontpage with sexy image, title and synopsis
• Advanced blogroll, 22 entries are fed to the front page and you can scroll through them
• Latest anime on the front page (Newest files), each file has a corresponding icon (OVA/ONA/Movie/BD/TV quality)
• Anime search page completely redone, better images, it also has a button designed to quickly bring you to the currently airing shows
• Torrents are the same as always, however, we’ve added XDCC packlist search for every single entry. If an entry has a CRC, it searches the packlist for it, if not it will search the entire filename (such as with HorribleSubs releases)
• Airing calendar – showtimes for anime in japan
• WebP image format enabled for browsers that support it (Chrome and Opera mostly) for the seasonal charts (BETA as fuck, might be removed in final)
• RSS feed is now compliant with more RSS feed applications
• Added a JSON feed too
• Ability to embed haruhichan widgets into your own site (latest 5, 10 anime torrents or so)
• This is something you guys probably don’t care about, but I’ve also added a whole lot of SEO friendly things which should hopefully help us out
• BD/DVD releases unfortunately removed for now, there’s no reliable source of information. It’s something we’re working on.
• Enhanced administrator panel so Swaps4 does not need to go full autism mode just to add older torrents (this means more content will be added for slowpokes)
