The Winter 2014/2015 anime season has just started and already we may have a contender for anime of the year. Disregarding the snark, the first episode of Kunihiko Ikuhara’s upcoming original Yuri Kuma Arashi (Yuri Bear Storm) anime has already aired and the Opening animation for the series is really something. With a nice soothing music theme (Ano Mori de Matteru by Bonjour Suzuki) and somewhat enticing visuals, it really showcases the Yuri of Yuri Kuma Arashi. The series stars Miho Arakawa (Sumireko Hanabusa in Akuma no Riddle) as Ginko Yurishiro, Yoshiko Ikuta (Yukina Sonogi in Senkou no Night Raid) as Lulu Yurigasaki, and Nozomi Yamane (First major role) as Kureha Tsubaki. The series is produced by Silver Link (Kokoro Connect, Non Non Biyori).
Yuri Kuma Arashi is currently airing on Tuesdays on Tokyo MX at 12:30am JST, the next episode airs on the 13th.
