Hayao Miyazaki’s The Forest Where the Wind Returns isn’t a movie, it’s a nature park!
Miyazaki is donating 300 million yen (2.5 million USD) of his own money to create a place where wonder meets reality. The heart of Miyazaki’s films will become a reality that fans can experience first hand. The facility will include a two story library and sleeping quarters to house up to thirty children. The play equiptment in the park will incorporate the already existing trees and boulders in the area. A lot of man power is going to be heavily relied on to get this project completed. The site that the park will be supposedly built on will be in the Zendo Foret Park on Kume Island in Okinawa.
We’ll have to wait two years to see it, but it will be worth it!
