Anime Mirai’s short film preview images are out! Every year, many anime studios bid for funding from the Young Animator Training Project, and four are selected to produce short films. The short films air in theaters every March, and all four can be viewed together at the Tokyo Anime Award Festival. Examples of past Anime Mirai short films include Trigger’s Little Witch Academia and Madhouse’s Death Billiards.
Though the shorts for Anime Mirai 2015 were selected in July of 2014, visuals and preview images for each have only recently been released, along with production cast information.

Since 2010, the Young Animator Training Project has been supporting amateur animators in training by helping them with funding and by giving them a venue to show off their work in. One of the reasons the project began is that there was concern that Japanese animation training and processes were being outsourced to other countries, thus reducing the need for training and animation opportunities in Japan.
