According to the manga creator of Arata Kangatari (Arata: The Legend), Yuu Watase (Fushigi Yuugi, Absolute Boyfriend), tweeted on Friday that she will resume the manga next year. The manga has been on hiatus since February on Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine.
The deluxe editions (includes new color images, new scenes and new pages) of Arata Kangatari manga is currently being worked on by Watase. And the fourth deluxe edition volume will be released on October 17. The 19th volume of the English licensed version was released on September 9 and the 20th volume will be released on December 9 by Viz Media.
The manga of Arata Kangatari began publishing on October 2008 under Shounen Sunday. It also received a 12-episode anime adaptation last spring 2013. It was produced by Satelight (Fairy Tail, Hellsing Ultimate) and JM Animation (Winter Sonata) and was directed by Yasuda Kenji (Shugo Chara!). The anime was licensed by Crunchyroll.
