Vertical Comics’ Manga Licensing Survey Is Up!

0

Most of us, especially manga fans, are fond of licensed and translated volumes. Not just because they are legal, but it gives off a good feeling to own one and to collect a lot of them. And we want some Japanese manga volumes to be translated and licensed… so bad.

On Monday, Vertical Comics, an English manga and light novel published, announced on their official Tumblr and Twitter account that their manga licensing survey is up for requests! The publishing company asks the readers for any manga series that they want to get published by them around Spring 2016.

Here are the criteria for the series that you would like to request:

  • No license rescues (already licensed by other English publisher/discontinued)
  • No titles that debuted before 2005
  • No titles currently over 10 volumes in length
  • No titles from the magazine publishers such as Shueisha, Shogakukan, SquareEnix or Gentosha
  • No light novel, novel or video game requests, only manga titles
  • No BL/hentai titles (basically no 18+ titles)

Click here to participate in the survey! The deadline of entries will be on February 26. Results will most likely be announced around Summer on AnimeExpo and Otakon.

Remember to hunt the manga that fits into the criteria properly. To know which publisher manga titles were at, it is easier to browse on MangaUpdates.

Here are some of the titles Vertical Comics already published:

  • Tsutomu Nihei’s Sidonia no Kishi (Volume 13 will be released on March 10, 2015)
  • Mitsuhisa Kiji’s Ookami no Kuchi: Wolfsmund (Volume 6 will be released on March 31, 2015)
  • Ryuu Mizunagi’s Witch Craft Works (Volume 4 will be released on April 21, 2015)
  • Takuma Morishige’s Tonari no Seki-kun (Volume 2 will be released on April 14, 2015)

Feel free to ask the publisher in their Ask.fm account.
