The first promotional video has released for the anime adaptation of Iwaki Hitoshi’s 1990 manga Parasyte (Kisejuu). The anime will be titled Parasyte: Probability of Survival (Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu) and is being animated by Madhouse (Death Note, Hajime no Ippo Rising). The anime will star Nobunaga Shimazaki (Haruka Nanase in Free!) as Shinichi Izumi, Kana Hanazawa (Mayuri Shiina in Steins;Gate) as Satomi Murano, and Aya Hirano (Haruhi Suzumiya in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) as the parasite Migi.
Parasyte: Probability of Survival will be airing this October during the Fall/Autumn 2014 anime season.
The video also revealed additional cast members of the anime:
- Miyuki Sawashiro (Shino Asada from Sword Art Online II) will voice Kana Kimishima
- Kiyono Yasuno (Tina Kobayakawa in Wake Up Girls!) is voicing Yuko Tachikawa
- Rena Maeda (Nike Remercier in Soredemo Sekai wa Utsukushii) as Akiho Suzuki
- Atsuko Tanaka (Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell) voicing as Ryoko Tamiya
- Hiroyuki Yoshino (Firo Prochainezo in Baccano!) will be voicing Uragami
Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:
They arrive in silence and darkness. They descend from the skies. They have a hunger for human flesh. They are everywhere. They are parasites, alien creatures who must invade–and take control of–a human host to survive. And once they have infected their victims, they can assume any deadly form they choose: monsters with giant teeth, winged demons, creatures with blades for hands.
