Kizumonogatari and Owari no Seraph Novels, Ninja Slayer Manga Licensed by Vertical

Last Saturday, Vertical Comics, an English publishing company, announced at its KatsuCon panel that they have acquired the licenses to publish Takaya Kagami (Densetsu no Yuusha no DensetsuItsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi) and Yamato Yamamoto’s (Kure-naiDenpa Teki na KanojoOwari no Seraph light novels in omnibus edition, NisiOisin (Katanagari, Medaka Box) and VOFAN’s (Gelatin, Monogatari Series: First Season) Kizumonogatari light novel, and Yoshiaki Tabata (AkumetsuWolf Guy: Ookami no Monshou) and Yuuki Yogo’s Ninja Slayer manga series.

Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End) is a prequel light novel series that feature events years before the story in the manga adaptation began. It started publishing on January 4, 2013 under Kodansha’s Light Novel Paperback. It currently has four volumes. The latest volume was published on July 2, 2014. The first English light novel volume is slated on December 2015.

There is a manga adaptation for the light novel series by the same writer and illustrator. It began publushing on September 3, 2012 in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine. There are currently seven compiled manga volumes since January 5, 2015. The manga series was licensed in English by Viz Media’s Shounen Jump Advanced imprint. There are currently three compiled manga volumes. The third volume was released on December 2, 2014 while the fourth volume will be released on March 3, 2015.

There will be an anime adaptation for the series produced by Wit Studio (Shingeki no KyojinRolling☆Girls). There will be two seasons. The first season will begin airing on April 2015 as a Spring 2015 anime while the second season will begin airing on October 2015 as a Fall 2015 anime. The cast and staff has also been announced:

Synopsis of Owari no Seraph‘s light novel from MAL:

“Hey, Guren? Do you think… when we grow up, we can still be together like always?” Just before the world fell to ruin because of mysterious virus that appeared on Earth which killed every infected human over the age of 13.

Vampires conquered the surface – in that one last spring. Ichinose Guren had entered a Sorcery Training School in Shibuya. This school was full of elites from famous families in the world of sorcerers. As he himself was of modest origin, Guren held a great ambition in his heart, even despite being labelled as trash. But among his classmates, a girl appeared who introduced herself by the name of the fiancée he had traded vows with a really long time ago…

In that world slated for ruin, the boy sought power; and the girl sought power as well. A magic academy fantasy story begins!

Kizumonogatari is the third volume and the second part of the Monogatari Series: First Season light novel series. It succeeds the first two volumes of Bakemonogatari (Hitagi Crab, Mayoi Snail, Suruga Monkey, Nadeko Snake, Tsubasa Cat). The story includes the Koyomi Vamp arc. It was released on May 7, 2008. The English volume will be available on November 2015.

An anime-film adaptation has been announced on July 28, 2010 in a flyer. It has been confirmed in Hanamonogatari‘s light novel volume sticker on March 29, 2011. There is still no announced release date for the film yet.

Ninja Slayer: Machine of Vengeance is a sci-fi cyberpunk manga based from a light novel by American writers Bradley Bond and Philip Ninj@ Morzez. It was released on June 27, 2013 in Kadokawa Shoten’s Comp Ace magazine. It is being distributed in English by Tokyo Otaku Mode. There are currently three compiled manga volumes for the Ninja Slayer series and Machine of Vengeance is the first part.
