Today’s ranking comes from the January 2015 issue of the popular Japanese magazine, NewType; we’ve taken the time to translate the whole article for your enjoyment. Earlier this week we did a write-up on this issue, giving an in-depth look into the magazine itself as well as the posters that come with it: you can read that here.

Before we go to the listings here is the image scan of the January 2015 Anime Popularity Ranking from the latest NewType Magazine:

Sword Art Online II seems to be claiming two spots in the top 5 like always, but it’s nice to see Saber from Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works (TV) dominating this month. Isuzu Sento from Amagi Brilliant Park has also climbed higher for a nice spot for herself, while Kira Yamato seems to have dropped out of the top 10 for the first time in years! Kirito is still claiming the #1 spot after all this time. Archer and Emiya Shirou have switched rankings this month while Kanie Seiya has made it into the top 5.
