In this year’s 48th issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, some major details have been teased for Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last”, releasing in Japan on December 6th. The film’s plot synopsis and a new mysterious character have been teased in the magazine.
This new mysterious character is designed by Naruto creator himself Masashi Kishimoto. The character is being described as a “handsome young man with a well-proportioned face” and has ties to the manga itself. It appears that the character has a Byakugan and the symbol on his back resembles the moon.
The issue also revealed the synopsis of the anime’s film:
During the situation with the moon crashing to earth, a situation occurs in Konoha where Hanabi is kidnapped! Naruto, Sakura, Shikamaru, Sai, and Hinata are challenged to recapture Hanabi from the unknown mystery man!
The movie’s Ending theme song was earlier revealed. The ED will be Hoshi no Utsuwa performed by Sukima Switch. The two member band itself will have roles in the film. The CD cover for the single was also revlead and features Naruto and Hinata together going on a mission.
Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” is the 10th overall movie in the Naruto franchise and is part of a new greater project in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Naruto. The project itself is the Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project (Naruto’s New Era Opening Project) and includes a Naruto Exhibition that will open in Japan early next year. Masashi Kishimoto, the manga’s creator will have a larger role in the film’s production, being credited with the original story, character designs and chief story supervisor. The film itself will be set after the events of the manga, which was announced to be ending on November 10th.
Naruto is an original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga began in 1999 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where to date a total of 69 volumes have released. Since its debut the manga has sold over 130 million copies in Japan alone. The series has also received two TV anime series adaptation, covering the manga’s two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Both series were produced by Studio Pierrot. Additionally, a total of 9 anime films have released to date and numerous OVAs and specials. A light novel spin-off was produced by Masatoshi Kusakabe and released in 2002, and a spinoff manga, titled Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden, began publishing in 2010 from Kenji Taira and was adapted into an anime in 2012. Today, the franchise is one of Japan’s most renowned and one of the most popular anime/manga series outside of Japan.
Here is a synopsis of the original series:
Naruto Uzumaki, a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja, lives in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf village. Moments prior to his birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi’s rampage, the leader of the village, the 4th Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.
Shunned because of the presence of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village. He strives to become the Hokage of Konohagakure, and he meets many friends and foes along the way.
Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” will release in Japanese theatres on December 6, during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Additional information about the film will release on the website and in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump.
