The official website of Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 7 – The Last has been updated with a brand new visual for the film, which will be releasing in Japan on December 6th. In addition, new designs for the characters that will appear in the film were also released.

This new visual showcases the brand new design for Naruto Uzumaki, the main character of the franchise, front and centre. Towards the back are the new looks for (from left to right): Kakashi Hatake, Sakura Haruno, Shikamaru Nara, Sai, Hinata Hyuuga, and Sasuke. The film’s website features new updated character designs for many of the characters from the series that will appear in the movie. All the designs are from the franchise creator, Masashi Kishimoto, himself.

Tickets will go on sale from October 18th. The first 100,000 people to purchase tickets for the film will get a special manga cover designed by Kishimoto himself of the new designs of Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke for the film. The tickets themselves feature the younger and current designs of the three characters.
Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 7 – The Last is the 10th overall movie in the Naruto franchise and is part of a new greater project in celebration of the 15th anniversary of Naruto. The project itself is the Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project (Naruto’s New Era Opening Project) and includes a Naruto Exhibition that will open in Japan early next year. Masashi Kishimoto, the manga’s creator will have a larger role in the film’s production, being credited with the original story, character designs and chief story supervisor. The film itself will be set after the events of the manga, which was announced to be ending on November 10th.

Naruto is an original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga began in 1999 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where to date a total of 69 volumes have released. Since its debut the manga has sold over 130 million copies in Japan alone. The series has also received two TV anime series adaptation, covering the manga’s two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Both series were produced by Studio Pierrot. Additionally, a total of 9 anime films have released to date and numerous OVAs and specials. A light novel spin-off was produced by Masatoshi Kusakabe and released in 2002. Today, the franchise is one of Japan’s most renowned and one of the most popular anime/manga series outside of Japan.
Here is a synopsis of the original series:
Naruto Uzumaki, a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja, lives in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf village. Moments prior to his birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi’s rampage, the leader of the village, the 4th Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.
Shunned because of the presence of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village. He strives to become the Hokage of Konohagakure, and he meets many friends and foes along the way.
Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 7 – The Last will release in Japanese theatres on December 6, during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Additional information about the film will release on the website and in future issues of Weekly Shonen Jump.
