Today’s ranking comes from the February 2015 issue of the popular Japanese magazine, NewType; we’ve taken the time to translate the whole article for your enjoyment. Kirito from Sword Art Online is still standing strong in number one and Archer from Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works has kept his second place slot. It’s strange to see Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion make an appearance and take the fifth spot in the male department.

What’s even more weird is the fact Rei Ayanami has taken Saber’s throne. Asuna from Sword Art Online has over taken Isuzu Sento from Amagi Brilliant Park compared to last months rankings while Akuma no Riddle‘s Tokaku Azuma has secured the fifth spot.
