Yato and Bishamon Featured in New Noragami 2nd Season Visual

The official website for the second TV anime season of Adachitoka’s Noragami manga has revealed a new visual. It was also announced that the first season will be re-broadcasted on BS Fuji starting April 5th, along with screening events in Tokyo and Osaka and an exhibition at Animate Ikebukuro.

The new visual features Yato and Bishamon.

It was also revealed earlier that Noragami will receive two new OVAs which will be bundled with the 15th and 16th manga volumes on November 17, 2015 and March 17, 2016. The first will feature the chapter, Nijikan no Teikei ni So Koto (Following A Stereotypical Two Hours), from the spin-off series Noragami: Shuuishuu. The second will be based on the 41st chapter of the manga, where the main characters pay a visit to Capyper Land. Previously, a 2-episode OVA was released in 2014. The first episode adapted the 25th chapter of the manga, and the second episode adapted the cherry blossom-viewing arc.

Noragami is a fantasy manga series by Adachitoka that began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Shounen Magazine in January 2011’s issue. It has been collected in twelve tankōbon volumes as of November 2014. An anime television series adaptation by Bones aired in Japan between January 5 and March 23, 2014.

Noragami synopsis from Haruhichan:

Yato is a minor deity who lacks even a single shrine. In order to build his own shrine and gain recognition as a god, he scrawls his cell number on the wall of a downtown bathroom telling people he will help them in exchange for a 5-yen offering, becoming a self-styled “delivery god.” Hiyori, the daughter of a respectable family, is almost killed in a traffic accident, but is rescued by Yato. This causes her to become a “hanyou,” a person who can exit her body in soul form. She chases Yato down, and they begin to work together to help Yato be recognized. Yato also finds a boy named Yukine who becomes a Regalia, a “sacred treasure” that can be used by a god as a weapon to fight. The three of them battle phantoms who bring harm to humans as Yato’s dark hidden history is gradually revealed.

A new visual for Fujino Omori’s Danmachi has been revealed in the July issue of popular Japanese magazine NyanType. Yet again, Goddess Hestia is featured in this visual taking a nice soak in the bath. This issue of NyanType can be purchased here.

Hestia posters have been featured in a lot of magazines since Danmachi’s debut, the first visual below is from June’s Megami issue and features Hestia leaning over a bar while drinking a glass of red wine. While the second visual from June’s NyanType issue displays her getting undressed.

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru no Darou ka?, also known as DanMachi for short, is a Japanese light novel series, written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. SB Creative has published six volumes since January 2013 under their GA Bunko imprint. It has received a spin-off light novel series and three manga adaptations. An anime television series adaptation by J.C.Staff is scheduled to air from April 2015.

Commonly known as the “Dungeon,” the city of Orario possesses a huge labyrinth in the underground. Its strange name attracts excitement, illusions of honor, and hopes of romance with a pretty girl. The official website for the upcoming brand new anime series titled Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Senyaku began streaming a new promotional video on Thursday.

Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Senyaku will be airing from July 2nd. The project itself is adapting various table top play sessions with various anime, manga and light novel creators, including Gen Urobuchi and Ryohgo Narita.

The Chaos Dragon anime will debut this Summer on Thursday, July 2nd at 11:30pm JST on Tokyo MX. The anime will then air on KBS Kyoto and BS11 on the following day at 1:00am JST and on Sun TV in the next time slot.

The first members of the anime’s main cast has been revealed. They include:

Marina Inoue (Laura Bodewig in IS: Infinite Stratos) will voice Ibuki, a descendant of the Nil Kamui royal family, created by illustrator Simadoriru

Miyuki Sawashiro (Shino Asada in Sword Art Online II) voices Eiha, Ibuki’s guardian who has fused with a demon, created by author Izuki Kogyoku

Soma Saito (Twelve from Zankyou no Terror) as Soirot Clasbari, a member of the Black Dragon Knights of Donatia, created by writer Kinoko Nasu

Maaya Uchida (Rikka Takanashi from Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!) joins the cast as Ro Chenfa, a religious assassin from Kouran, created by writer Gen Urobuchi

Unshou Ishizuka (Joseph Joestar in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders) is voicing Kagraba, a mysterious trader from Haiga, created by author Ryohgo Narita

Chaos Dragon is a new mixed media project that currently consists of a mobile game, a board game and an anime. The project is based on a series of table top RPG sessions that were held by DM Makoto Sanda, the creator of the Rental Magica series, under the title of Red Dragon that spanned 6 days. The game involved a brand new original world envisioned by Sanda and has 5 players creating their own characters traversing through the game’s world and Sanda’s planned situations. The 5 players include: Gen Urobuchi, the creator of Mahou Shoujo Madoka☆Magica andFate/Zero, Ryohgo Narita, the creator of Baccano! and Durarara!!, Kinoko Nasu, one of the creators of Fate/stay night, Izuki Kogyoku, the author of Mimizuku to Yoru no Ou, and illustrator Simadoriru.

Each of the players created their own characters in the game and will have varying impacts in the Chaos Dragon projects. The board game will be titled Chaos Dragon: Hau Shunjuu, the mobile game titled Chaos Dragon: Konton Senso and the anime titled Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Senyaku.

Here is a synopsis of the anime from Haruhichan:

The story takes place in Huanli (the Year of Dazzling) 3015. Donatia and Kouran, two countries fighting for supremacy, are causing the world to be torn apart due to the constant war. Amidst the strife is the island country Nil Kamui, which has lost its independence. Red Dragon, the guardian god of Nil Kamui, goes out of control. Will the island country be able to regain its independence?

Little Witch Academia 2 First Teaser Streamed

Studio Trigger began streaming the first trailer for the upcoming sequel to Little Witch Academia, Little Witch Academia 2, on Thursday. The anime film will premiere at Anime Expo on July 3.

Studio Trigger also posted an update on Thursday to reveal that backers who are unable to attend Anime Expo, will be provided a digital copy of the series so that they can enjoy it at the same time as the other backers who were able to attend Anime Expo.

Additionally, the company noted that it is expecting to have physical copies of the rewards shipped out in August while the theatrical release will run in Japan in October. Advanced sales for tickets to the Japanese screenings will start on June 5.

Here are some snapshots they also revealed with comments made by the team with their update before this:

I believe the analog/hand painted style background is one of the selling points of LWA! Most of the anime series today use full digital backgrounds (not to say they are bad) butLWA was fortunate enough to take the time to use quality hand painted backgrounds.

Studio Trigger went on Kickstarter to fund Little Witch Academia 2, which was met with high popularity and the project funded in days. At the crowdfunding’s conclusion a total of $625,518 out of their $150,000 goal, earning a 401% funding. The total funding has met the studio’s stretch goal of $500,000 where Blu-ray releases of Little Witch Academia 2 will be released: a standard edition that will contain audio commentary and a making of and a limited edition with the above features and an OST of the anime and a collection art book. With the funding, Little Witch Academia 2 will be over 20 minutes, it’s initial episode length.

Little Witch Academia is an original anime short produced by Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Inferno Cop) for the 2013 Anime Mirai project. The project itself is funded by the Japanese Government’s Agency for Cultural Affairs to train new and upcoming animators. The anime itself was a 26 minute special that was directed by Yoshinari Yoh (Gurren Lagann Parallel Works) who also designed the character designs for the anime and written by Masahiko Otsuka (Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt). The anime’s staff will return to produce Little Witch Academia 2.

Little Witch Academia synopsis from Haruhichan:

Little Witch Academia is one of the four anime works that each received 38 million yen (about US$480,000) from the “2012 Young Animator Training Project.” Just like in 2010 and 2011, the animation labor group received 214.5 million yen (US$2.65 million) from the Japanese government’s Agency for Cultural Affairs, and it distributed most of those funds to studios who train young animators on-the-job.

Cerea Prepares for Monster Musume’s Debut

A new visual for the anime adaptation of Takemaru Inui’s popular Monster Musume manga has been revealed in the July issue of popular Japanese magazine Megami. The visual features Cerea, the centauride who happens to be the third resident of Kurusu’s home. This issue of Megami can be purchased here.

Recently a video previewing the upcoming anime adaptation of Takemaru Inui’s popular Monster Musume manga. The video contains clips of the anime and previews the opening theme song, “Top Speed Fall in Love,” sung by the female cast members, in the background.

The anime adaptation was revealed on the 7th manga volume of Takemaru Inui’s manga series Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou (Everyday That There Is a Monster Girl), there was wraparound jacket band announcement revealing that the TV anime adaptation of the manga will premiere this July, during the summer 2015 anime season.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, usually translated as “Everyday Life with Monster Girls” but also as “Daily Life with a Monster Girl” or “Everyday Monster Girls“, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Okayado. The manga first began as a series of hentai one-shots. An anime adaption has been announced to Air in July 2015.

Monster Musume is currently published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten in their Monthly Comic Ryu magazine and by Seven Seas Entertainment in the United States, with the chapters collected and reprinted into—so far—6 tankobon volumes. The story revolves around Kimihito Kurusu, often referred to as “Darling” among various other things, a Japanese student whose life is totally thrown into turmoil after becoming involved with the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange” program by mistake.

Monsters—they’re real, and they want to date us! Three years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction; they are flesh and blood—not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. A new visual for upcoming anime adaptation of Norimitsu Kaihou and Sadoru Chiba’s Gakkou Gurashi! (School-Live!) has been revealed in the July issue of popular Japanese magazine Megami. The visual features the girls from the series relaxing at the swimming pool before their debut. This issue of Megami can be purchased here.

Gakkou Gurashi! is a Japanese manga series written by Nitroplus’ Norimitsu Kaihou and illustrated by Sadoru Chiba. The series began serialization in the July 2012 issue of Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine. An anime adaptation by Lerche will begin airing in Summer 2015

First Look at iDOLM@STER’s New Anastasia Figure

While many figures from the popular Winter 2015 anime, The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls have been released since airing, Banpresto finally released images of their up and coming figure of Anastasia. Anastasia is known as a half-Russian, half-Japanese girl in the anime that is known for using Russian phrases in her everyday speech.

Anastasia’s new figure is an “SQ figure,” which stands for “super quality figure” a branch of Banpresto prize figures. These types of figures can be won in Pachinko Parlors and arcades in Japan. She is molded from ABS and PCV materials and features a matte paint job on her hair with detailed eyes. While she has not been put up for preordering, her official release date is for October of this year.

The official website of Ultra Super Anime Time has revealed a new visual for Yui Hara’s (Kiniro Mosaic) latest 4koma manga TV anime adaptation Wakaba*Girl.

The series will be airing from July 3rd on MBS as part of the Ultra Super Anime Time project. The first visual, cast and staff were revealed earlier:

Wakaba*Girl is a comedy 4koma manga series written and illustrated by Yui Hara, who is known for creating the Kiniro Mosaic manga. The series began in late 2013 being published in Houbunsha’s Manga Time KR Comics. To date only 1 volume has been released.

Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:

The story centers around the activities of Wakaba Kohashi, “a slightly out-of-tune super” daughter of a well-to-do family, and her friends. Wakaba (literally, “young leaves”) looks like an elegant rich daughter, but she admires the trendy gyaru fashion subculture. There is also the pure, innocent, fairy-tale-like Moeko. Mao is capricious and behaves in her own way. Nao used to be an athletic type of girl, but now loves the boys-love genre.

The official website has revealed that the third anime season of Karino Takatsu’s Working!! will debut from July 4 on Tokyo MX during the Summer 2015 anime season.

Working!! is a manga series by the original creator Karino Takatsu. The manga series has a total of 13 volumes and has received two anime adaptations, with the third on its way titled Working!! 3. The first season aired during spring 2010 anime season from April 4 to June 27. The second season titled Working’!! aired during the fall 2011 anime season from October 1 to December 24.

Set in a family restaurant in Hokkaido, the northern prefecture of Japan, 16-year-old high school student Souta Takanashi works part-time along with his strange co-workers: Popura Taneshima, a high school girl who’s a year older than Souta, yet easily mistaken for an elementary/middle schooler, and Kyoko Shirafuji, the 28-year-old store manager who doesn’t bother to do any work at all.

Kyoto Animation English-Subtitled Video Streamed

Kyoto Animation began streaming an English-subtitled commercial on Tuesday for the studios’ upcoming event which is scheduled for October 31/November 1. The commercial features Hibike! Euphonium‘s Kumiko Oumae, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!‘s Rikka Takanashi, Tamako Market‘s Tamako Kitashirakawa and Kyoukai no Kanata‘s Mirai Kuriyama.

The official website of the event also updated, revealing the details of the KYOANI & DO FAN DAYS 2015 (This Is What We Are Now!!) event, and containing instructions and a form for those outside Japan who want to reserve a ticket to the event. The event will be held at Miyakomesse which is located in Kyoto-shi Kyoto in Japan. Each ticket costs 2,000 yen (around $16), and will admit one person for one day (two tickets must be purchased to attend both days). Children under 12 years old will be admitted for free.

Hestia’s Knife from Danmachi Recreated Perfectly in Real Life

Anisong DJ Nachtgrief has recreated Bell Cranel’s powerful knife which was forged by Hephaestus from Fujino Omori’s Danmachi light novel series. Nachtgreif noted that since he isn’t Bell, he had to use a little help to make the plastic knife glow.

Love Live! Cup Ramen Is Now a Thing

To help promote the upcoming Love Live! School Idol Project Movie the Akihabara branch of Animate, a major anime goods retailer, is selling cup ramen featuring school idol Rin. The cup ramen will have two different flavors, onion and leek. A 30-second commercial was also streamed to promote the upcoming Love Live! School Idol Project themed cup ramen.

Each cup ramen will cost 200 yen ($1.61) or you have the choice of 12-cup boxes for 2,400 yen ($19.40). The boxes come with a free clear file featuring a visual of Rin presenting a steaming bowl of ramen.

Yuki Nagato Wears Her Endless Eight Swimsuit in New Nyantype Visual

In the July issue of NyanType, Satelight released official art of Nagato Yuki-Chan No Shoushitsu’s Yuki relaxing by the pool with her PSP. This issue of NyanType can be purchased here.

There is a possibility that Satelight made this visual to reference the original series, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya‘s wardrobe for Nagato Yuki. One of these is Yuki’s endless eight swimsuit, which is included in many original The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya visuals. The version that the alternate universe of The Disappearance Of Haruhi Suzumiya’s Yuki wears in the visual is a bikini. This could be reference to how this Yuki checks her stomach in the mirror everyday, as Asakura Ryoko states in the first episode of the spinoff.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is a spin-off manga in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya franchise, where it stars the eponymous character Yuki Nagato. The series takes place in the alternate universe established in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. The series is written and drawn by Puyo, which started in February 2010. To date, the series has a total of 5 volumes with the 6th volume releasing on December 26th this year.

There is very little information regarding the anime announcement of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, including whether or no Kyoto Animation will produce it. Two other spin-off manga were also produced into anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya and Nyoron Churuya-san.

Tokyo Ghoul JACK OVA Promotional Video

The first promotional video for the upcoming OVA of Sui Ishida’s Tokyo Ghoul spin-off prequel, Tokyo Ghoul JACK, has been streamed. The OVA is scheduled for fall and the story is centered around the character Kishou Arima, who is a High School student by day and a ghoul investigator by night. The story is also set in and revolves around the 13th ward.

Tokyo Ghoul is a manga series by Sui Ishida. It was serialized in Shueisha’s seinen manga magazine Weekly Young Jump between September 2011 and September 2014 and has been collected in fourteen tankobon volumes as of August 2014. A sequel titled Tokyo Ghoul:re began serialization in the same magazine in October 2014 and a prequel titled Tokyo Ghoul: JACK is running online on Jump Live. A 12-episode anime television series adaptation by studio Pierrot aired on Tokyo MX between July and September 2014 and a 12 episode second season titled Tokyo Ghoul √A, started airing on January 8, 2015.

Kyoto Animation have launched a website for the studios’ upcoming event which is scheduled for October 31/November 1. Hibike! A new visual for Fujino Omori’s Danmachi has been revealed in the July issue of popular Japanese magazine Megami. The visual features Goddess Hestia in a rather suggestive pose. This issue of Megami can be purchased here.

Hestia posters have been featured in a lot of magazines since Danmachi’s debut, the first visual below is from June’s Megami issue and features Hestia leaning over a bar while drinking a glass of red wine. While the second visual from June’s NyanType issue displays her getting undressed.

Support Your Favorite Idol with Love Live! Shoes

The official website for the Love Live! School Idol Project franchise has revealed that they are teaming up with UBIQ to produce a line of shoes with designs inspired by various members of school idol group μ’s.

Each set of shoes is patterned with the μ’s logo and features a color-scheme and a design unique to each member.

Additionally, the tops of the shoes can fold down, revealing a pattern modeled after the plaid skirts of the girls’ school uniforms.

The Love Live! x UBIQ shoes come in 9 different varieties and various sizes and will retail for 9612 yen ($77.03 US) including tax and are available for pre-order here. They are scheduled to shop in September of 2015.

A new visual for the anime adaptation of Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s To Love-Ru manga has been revealed in the July issue of the popular Japanese magazine Megami. The new visual features Yui Kotegawa and Haruna Sairenji striking a catlike pose. This issue of Megami can be purchased here.

In addition to this, the official website of the anime adaptation of Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s To Love-Ru manga recently revealed that the second season of the To LOVE-Ru Darkness anime, To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd, will be airing from July 6. The site has also revealed the returning cast and staff of the anime, character designs.

In addition to the new visual above, three more were also unveiled that all reveal the July broadcast:

The first episode of To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd will air on Monday, July 6 at 12:30am JST on Tokyo MX. The anime will then air every week on Monday this Summer season.

It has also been revealed that Japanese pop singers Mami Kawada (Toaru Majutsu no Index OP 1 and 2) and Ray (To LOVE-Ru Darkness OP) will be performing the main theme songs of the anime.

The June issue of Megami magazine has revealed a brand new visual that features Momo.

To LOVE-Ru is an ongoing comedy, ecchi romance manga written by Saki Hasemi and illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki. The original series ran from April 2006 and ended in August 2009 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump for a total of 18 volumes. A sequel manga titled To LOVE-Ru Darkness began in the same magazine in 2010 and has a total of 10 volumes to date. An anime adaptation of the first manga was produced in 2008 by Xebec (Pandora Hearts, Break Blade) and directed by Takao Kato (Pandora Hearts, Upotte!!). A sequel anime was followed by in 2010 adapting the remainder of the manga, and the first anime adaptation of To LOVE-Ru Darkness was produced in 2012. The series also received many OVA and video game adaptations.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

The story is about Rito Yuuki, a high-school boy who cannot confess to the girl of his dreams, Haruna Sairenji. One day when coming home and sulking in the bath-tub a mysterious, nude girl, appears out of nowhere. Her name is Lala and she comes from the planet Deviluke, where she is the heir to the throne. Her father wants her to return to her home planet so she can marry one of the husband candidates, but she decides that she wants to marry Rito in order to stay on Earth.

To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd will be airing from July 6th on Tokyo MX at 12:30am JST, during the Summer 2015 anime season. Further information about the anime will be revealed in the next few weeks.
