Utawarerumono is a Japanese adult tactical role-playing visual novel by Leaf which was released on April 26, 2002 for Windows. A PlayStation 2 version was developed by Sting, and released by Aquaplus on October 26, 2006.Utawarerumonowas later ported to PlayStation Portable on May 28, 2009. Two Internet radio programs based onUtawarerumono aired on the Oto Izumi broadcast station. Three manga adaptations were published by ASCII Media Works. A 26-episode anime adaptation aired in 2006 and is licensed in North America by Funimation. Three OVA episodes were later produced by Aquaplus and Chaos Project, released between 2009 and 2010.

Several Utawarerumono drama CDs have been produced by Lantis. Four different comic anthology series have been published by DNA Media Comics, Ohzora Shuppan, and La Porte. A sequel visual novel titled Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita was released on September 24, 2015. An anime series based on Itsuwari no Kamen, known in the west as Utawarerumono: The False Faces, premiered in October 2015.

The official website of the upcoming Kizumonogatari film trilogy has revealed the title for the third film, Kizumonogatari: Reiketsu-hen. Aniplex also began streaming a new commercial for the Kizumonogatari I: Tekketsu-hen anime film to commemorate the film’s opening in Japanese theaters on Friday. The film is listed with a runtime of 60 minutes.

The first visual for the anime adaptation of Nisio Isin and Vofan’s Kizumonogatari second film, Kizumonogatari Part 2: Nekketsu-hen, has been revealed. The second film is scheduled for release in summer 2016.

Premium Bandai have announced that they will be selling replicas of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure‘s Jean-Pierre Polnareff earrings for 7,776 yen ($66 USD). The jewelry comes in a heart-shaped box and will ship sometime in March.

At the bottom of each heart is a single Swarovski crystal. The red heart itself is made of red glass while the metal portion is 925 sterling silver. The left earring is engraved with Jean-Pierre Polnareff’s signature.

It has been revealed during the “MagiLOVELIVE 5th Stage” event that the fourth season of the Uta no Prince-Sama anime adaptation has been scheduled to premiere in fall 2016.

The final episode of the third season titled Uta no Prince Sama Revolutions, ended with the messages “To Be Continued…” and “See You Next Season.”

Shoujo Manga Shounen Maid Anime Cast Announced

The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Ototachibana’s (Ghost Hunt Scramble!) Shounen Maid manga series has revealed the main cast members and a new key visual.

The first episode will receive an early screening along with the first episode of Sakamoto desu ga? on March 12 at Yurakucho Asahi Hall in Tokyo. The cast members will be present at the screening event.

Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends is a Japanese anime television series based off of the Rage of Bahamut social game. The series is not related to the second season of the earlier Rage of Bahamut: Genesis anime. It will premiere in April 2016.

The anime adaptation of Bakuon!! was revealed on the 6th volume of the manga with a wraparound jacket.

Bakuon!! is a motorcycle, slice of life manga written and illustrated by Mimana Orimoto. The series began in early 2011 being serialized in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu magazine. To date a total of 6 compiled volumes have been produced, with a 7th volume releasing on March 18, 2016. The series itself features motorcycles from real companies. An anime adaptation has been announced and slated for 2016.

The story revolves around high school girls who discover the appeal of motorcycles. Sakura Hane is a high school student who looks a little bit like an airhead. On the way to her all-female high school one day, she is worn-out climbing a hilly road with a bicycle, but she sees a girl named Onsa Amano who is riding a motorcycle. Sakura immediately becomes interested in motorcycles, and she and Onsa join the motorcycle club at the school. Then, Sakura sets out to get her license.

K-On! 24 Hour Marathon Scheduled for January 23rd

It has been revealed that on Saturday, January 23rd on TBS there will be a 24 hour marathon of of the anime adaptation of Kakifly’s K-ON!.

The 24 hours of non-stop K-ON! goodness will showcase all 12 episodes of the anime’s first season, all 24 episodes of the second season, and the K-ON! Movie– twice!. Here is the full schedule on TBS:

The anime celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2014 with the release of Blu-ray boxsets for both seasons. The Blu-ray box set of the first season of K-ON! contains all the episodes in full HD quality, with Japanese and English subtitles. Also included are interviews, all episodes of the ONA K-On!: Ura-On!, 9 post cards – 2 of key visuals and the 7 volume covers and a booklet containing character designs, episode synopsis, background art and special messages from the characters. The box set also contains audio commentary, non-credited opening and endings, and a special calendar.

The K-ON!! Blu-ray boxset contains the entire second season that aired in 2010. All the episode will be on 6 Blu-ray discs for a total of 648 minutes of tea drinking fun. There will also be audio commentary on the discs, which all audio on the discs are available in Dolby Digital. Other goodies includes 9 post cards – two key visuals and the Blu-ray covers of volumes 1-9, a special booklet that contains information about each episode, character introductions and messages from the cast, an audio CD with older audio commentary from the staff of the anime, and the non-credit versions of the Openings and Endings of the anime.

K-ON! is a 4koma manga written and illustrated by Kakifly. The manga began in serialization in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara magazine in 2007, and ended in 2012. A total of 6 volumes have released for the series and over 2.5 million copies have been sold. The series received an anime adaptation in 2009 by Kyoto Animation (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Free!) as well as a sequel series in 2010, and a film in 2012. The series also received many OVAs and specials since the anime’s release and two video games have released based on the series, including an Arcade Card Game. The series was also well known for its music, where over 3 million CDs have been sold. In addition a series of Live Concerts featuring the main voice actresses were also held. The entire franchise has grossed over 15 billion yen (~ $150 Million USD) as of 2011.

Here is a synopsis of the series from MAL:

Hirasawa Yui, a young, carefree girl entering high school, has her imagination instantly captured when she sees a poster advertising the “Light Music Club.” Being the carefree girl that she is, she quickly signs up. However, Yui has a problem, she is unable to play an instrument.

When Yui goes to the clubroom to explain, she’s greeted by the other members: Ritsu, Mio, and Tsumugi. Although disheartened at Yui’s lack of musical know-how, they still try to convince her to stay to prevent the club’s disbandment. Digimon Adventure Tri.’s 2nd Film’s Promo Video Reveals 3rd Film’s Title & Date

The second film of the in the Digimon Adventure tri. series, Digimon Adventure tri.: Ketsui, has opened in Japanese theaters today and has released a promotional trailer. The trailer features a battle scene between Ogremon and Leomon and new visual of Mimi, Rosemon, Joe, and Vikemon. At the end of the trailer, the third film’s title was revealed. The title is Digimon Adventure tri.: Kokuhaku (Confession) which will debut in Summer 2016. It also teases another sad scene with both Palmon and Takeru.

The video ends with a teaser for the third part, Digimon Adventure tri.: Kokuhaku (Confession), which will open this summer. In the teaser, Patamon says, “Sayonara, Takeru” (T.K.).

The film will open for a limited three-week run in Japanese theaters on March 12. It will also be available online for a fee on the same day, and theaters will offer an early limited edition Blu-ray Disc. The Blu-ray Disc and DVD will then debut at regular retailers on April 2.

In addition to this, the boys from the Digimon Adventure tri. theatrical anime series has been featured in the February 2016 issue of Otomedia as a poster.

Recently the official website also revealed a new key visual for the series. In addition to this, it has also been revealed that the Kouji Wada will return to do the opening theme song “Butter-Fly” while Miyazaki Ayumi will return to perform “Brave Heart” for the insert song. The Digimon cast will remain the same.

The anime will be set 6 years after the end of the original series, and 3 years after Digimon Adventure 02. The newly announced anime will be produced by Toei Animation (Sailor Moon Crystal, One Piece) and follow 17 year old Tai who is currently in high school with Agumon.

Digimon (Digital Monsters in Japan) is a large multimedia franchise that was based on Bandai’s Digivice products, which first released in 1997. The toys were based on Tamagotchis, which were also produced by Bandai. The toys were seen as more female orientated products, so Bandai created a new line of products for a male equivalent. The first anime adaptation, Digimon Adventure, was produced in 1999 by Toei Animation. A film and TV anime were released alongside each other in 1999, the movie being a 20 minute anime produced by Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). Since then there has been numerous anime series, toys, figures, manga, video games and trading card games in the franchise. And this year, will mark the 15th anniversary of Digimon Adventure.

The Digimon Boys Prepare for Valentine’s Day in New Visual

The boys from the Digimon Adventure tri. theatrical anime series has been featured in the February 2016 issue of Otomedia as a poster.

In addition to this it has been revealed that the first Digimon Adventure tri. chapter sold 139,408 tickets for 218 million yen (about $1.80 million USD) as of Wednesday, December 16. The film had been about a month since the movie opened in 10 theaters on November 20.

The film’s theatrical run has been extended from the originally planned three week run time to four weekends in a row. The retail release of the Blu-ray Disc and DVD will ship on December 18.

The film sold 26,000 tickets for 59 million yen (about 480,000 USD) in its first two days. It then sold 110,000 tickets for 180 million yen (about 1.5 USD) in its first 16 days.

The second film, Digimon Adventure tri. Ketsui (Determination), will open in Japan on March 12, and its Blu-ray and DVD will debut at retailers on April 2.

Crunchyroll is streaming the “first four episodes” of the Digimon Adventure tri. anime for users in the United States, Canada, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. Crunchyroll plans to also stream the “next chapter” of the series in winter 2016.

Bungou Stray Dogs is a Japanese manga written by Kafka Asagiri and illustrated by Harukawa35, follows a detective agency whose members are modeled after great writers in Japanese history and have supernatural powers. The series has been serialized in Young Ace since 2012, and there are currently eight volumes in print. Bungou Stray Dogs has more than 1.7 million copies of its volumes in circulation.

Synopsis of Bungou Stray Dogs from Haruhichan:

Nakajima Atsushi was kicked out of his orphanage, and now he has no place to go and no food. While he is standing by a river, on the brink of starvation, he rescues a man whimsically attempting suicide. That man is Dazai Osamu, and he and his partner Kunikida are members of a very special detective agency. They have supernatural powers, and deal with cases that are too dangerous for the police or the military. They’re tracking down a tiger that has appeared in the area recently, around the time Atsushi came to the area. The tiger seems to have a connection to Atsushi, and by the time the case is solved, it is clear that Atsushi’s future will involve much more of Dazai and the rest of the detectives!
