November 9th started what could be one of the biggest weeks for video games in Japan and Media Create has revealed just how massive it really was. Releases like the cross-over extravaganza Project X Zone 2, for the Nintendo 3DS, came out swinging with 40,945 units sold, championing through Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, another significant release, which sold 32,078 units.
The surprisingly invincible first-person shooter Call of Duty: Black Ops III could not be beaten with 43,629 units sold on top of its already impressive 187,446 units sold since its release on November 6th. Splatoon manages to continue thriving in Japan with 21,098 sales on top of 784,000 units and Super Mario Maker is still seeing some moderate success with 12,442 units sold.
Software sales for Call of Duty: Black Ops III and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate seem to line up with the incredible 27,311 PlayStation 4 units sold within only a week. It’s worth noting that 33,000 units were sold last week, which show the PlayStation 4’s undeniable, worldwide momentum is not slowing down anytime soon. Additionally, the Nintendo Wii U sold only 9,935 units last week, but skyrocketed to almost double that with 17,921 units this week.
Microsoft’s Xbox One, however, shows no signs of improving with 524 units sold this week, barely breaking even with its 825 units sold last week.
