Charlotte is a Japanese anime television series produced by P.A.Works and Aniplex and directed by Yoshiyuki Asai. The series, which is written by Jun Maeda with original character design by Na-Ga, is the second original anime project created by visual novel brand Key following the 2010 series Angel Beats!. The anime began airing in Japan on July 4, 2015, and is simulcast by Crunchyroll and Animax Asia in South and Southeast Asia. A manga adaptation illustrated by Haruka Komowata began serialization in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G‘s Comic.

Synopsis of Charlotte from Haruhichan:

Selector WIXOSS Anime Movie Titled Selector Destructed WIXOSS

The official website of the Selector Infected WIXOSS anime has revealed the that the upcoming anime film will be titled Selector Destructed WIXOSS. The film itself will be released in 35 theatres across Japan on February 13th next year.

The first set of advance tickets for the film will go on sale from August 1st. The first batch will come with a limited edition hologram, foil Arc Destruct WIXOSS promo card. Though, there are only a limited supply for the card.

The second batch of advance tickets will go on sale at Comic Market (Comiket) 88, running from August 14-16. The tickets will also contain a bonus, which will be revealed at a later date.

The film was announced earlier this year at a fan event in April.

Selector Infected WIXOSS is an original anime series animated by J.C. Staff (Toradora!, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo) and directed by Takuya Satou (Steins;Gate, Seitokai no Ichizon). A card game based on the series titled WIXOSS was produced from Takara Tomy in April this year.

Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:

WIXOSS is a card game that’s popular with teenagers. Supposedly there exist “LRIG Cards,” female character cards with wills of their own. Special girls can hear the voices of the LRIGs, and those who possess them are called Selectors. These Selectors have card battles in a dimension that other humans cannot access. It’s said that whoever triumphs in these battles will have their wish granted. Ruko Kominato is the latest girl to find an LRIG card. She names her card Tama, and without any further explanation is thrown into her life as a Selector.

2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime Film Announced! Focuses on Yugi vs Kaiba

The return of one of the most popular rivalries in anime is back! A brand new anime film based on Kazuki Takahashi’s Yu-Gi-Oh! manga has been announced as part of the 20th anniversary of the series, Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions. The film will be featuring the characters from the original series, where we will witness Yugi take on Kaiba again when it releases in Japan next Spring.

The official website of the movie has revealed that Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions will be focused on the classic and legendary rivalry of Yugi Muto and Seto Kaiba. The film will have a new original story with the following synopsis:

In the past Yami Yugi and Kaiba have clashed many times!! Yami Yugi, who resides in Yugi Muto’s body, and Kaiba will have a duel that bets their prides and accepts each other’s mutual experience.

Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the manga, will be designing the film’s characters, writing the script and will be the Chief Production Supervisor. The director of the film will be Satoshi Kuwahara (Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, Astro Boy: Shinsen-gumi) and Studio Dice (Yu-Gi-Oh! (1998)) will be animating.

The two cast members of the main characters were also revealed to be returning for the film:

Shunsuke Kazama (Shirou Mizunuma in From Up on Poppy Hill) will return to voice Yugi Muto
Kenjiro Tsuda (Sadaharu Inui from Prince of Tennis) is back as Seto Kaiba

Following the film’s announcement, two new trailers have been revealed. The first trailer recaps the 20 years of Yu-Gi-Oh! before revealing the new project.

The second trailer features the first footage of the upcoming movie and also reveals one of the new main characters that will debut:

A recent issue of Shueisha’s V Jump has revealed the first designs for the two iconic monsters from the series, the Dark Magician and the Blue Eyes White Dragon. Both monsters will return in the film and will have a brand new look.

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a manga written and illustrated by Kazuki Takahashi that ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1996 to 2004 for a total of 38 volumes. The series focuses on the main characters playing a series of games, most notably a card game known as Duel Monsters. The series first received an anime adaptation in 1998 that ran for a total of 27 episodes, by Toei Animation (Dragon Ball Z, One Piece). Another anime adaptation of the manga was produced in 2000 by Studio Gallop (Initial D, Rurouni Kenshin) that ran for 224 episodes from 2000 till 2004. Following the original manga, various spin-off anime and manga have been produced. Additionally, a trading card game has been produced by Konami, based on Duel Monsters from the original series.

Here is the synopsis for the well known 2000 anime:

Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters centers around the journey of the spirit of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh who is trying to re-discover who he was many years ago, since he has lost his memories. With the help of a boy, Yugi Mutou, the one who awakened the spirit, and his friends, he battles many villains and adversaries. Many of the villains have been linked to the Nameless Pharaoh’s past, due to the Millennium Puzzle he holds and many try to take the puzzle and his power away from him.

The series focuses on the card game aspect of it and the main theme represented throughout the series is friendship.

Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions will be releasing in Japanese theatres in Spring 2016 during Golden Week. The film has been scheduled to be released internationally in late 2016.

Gakkou Gurashi! Manga Sales Increase 10 times after TV Anime Debut

The July 18 report by Hon no Hikidashi, the official news site owned by Nippan/Nippon Shuppan Hanbai, one of the biggest book distributors in Japan, has revealed that the sales of the based on Norimitsu Kaihou and Sadoru Chiba’s Gakkou Gurashi! manga’s first volume in the week of July 6-12 increased about 10 times more than the previous week of June 29 to July 5. The anime’s first episode has already been viewed over 1.5 million times on Nico Nico Douga.

Celebrate the Summer Festival with the Libra Gang

With the Kekkai Sensen finale still delayed, at least we get new wonderful visuals to look at. A new visual featuring characters from the Libra organization has been featured as a poster in the August issue of the Japanese anime magazine Animedia. Another new visual was revealed in the latest issue of PASH! Magazine has featured a poster with Steven A. Starphase and Klaus Von Reinhertz preparing a feast for the gang at Libra.

Recently a cheery poster visual featuring William Macbeth, Mary Macbeth, Leonardo Watch and Michella Watch, from Yasuhiro Nightow’s Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) has been featured in the August issue of popular Japanese magazine NewType. This issue of NewType can be purchased here.

Last month the official website for the anime adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow’s Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) manga series revealed that the 12th and final episode has been delayed beyond the previously announced July 4-5 weekend dates. The anime’s production committee explained that the staff determined that the final episode cannot air in a 30-minute timeslot, since its required length will be longer than estimated.

The staff still plan to air the final episode on the MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS11 stations, but the broadcast dates and times have yet to be determined. When the dates and times are decided, the anime’s official website and Twitter account will announce them.

Instead of the final episode, a special program for Kekkai Sensen will air on the following stations and dates:

MBS: Saturday, July 4 at 27:28 (effectively, July 5 at 3:28 a.m.)
Tokyo MX: Sunday, July 5 at 24:00 (effectively, July 6 at midnight)
BS11: Sunday, July 5 at 24:30 (effectively, July 6 at 12:20 a.m.)

The staff members had announced that they would delay the final episode until July 4 at 26:28 JST (July 5 at 2:28 a.m.) on MBS. However, MBS had already scheduled the premiere of the Durarara!!x2 Ten season for the same 26:28 timeslot on July 4.

In addition to this, the series has been featured as a double page spread in the July issue of Japanese anime magazine Animedia. The new visual features Klaus von Reinherz, Leonardo Watch, Zapp Renfro and others enjoying a nice time at the sea.

Kekkai Sensen is a Japanese shounen manga by Yasuhiro Nightow. It has published bimonthly in the magazine Jump SQ.19 ever since 2009 and moved to Jump Square upon the former’s ending. It follows a young photographer named Leonardo Watch who obtained the All Seeing Eyes at the cost of his sister’s eyesight. He moves to the city of Hellsalem’s Lot to join an organization known as Libra to fight several monsters as well as terrorists. The manga has been published in the United States by Dark Horse Comics.

Kantai Collection Gets Abukuma Kai Ni along with Summer Themed Swimsuits

On July 17th, players of the popular browser game, Kantai Collection eagerly waited for Nagara Class Light Cruiser Abukuma’s Kai Ni (a remodel of the character when reaching a certain level) when the user reaches level 75. During the summer event, the game updated with new summer swimsuit themed graphics of Tenryuu, Shigure (Kai Ni), Yuudachi (Kai Ni), Akashi (Kai), while Italia received limited graphics. There were previous summer-themed graphics released in June as well.

There is also new furniture available for the summer as well, including an Anchorage Beach Teahouse, a Commercial Shaved Ice Maker, Fleet Shaved Ice Flag, Beach Teahouse Flooring, Beach Teahouse Temporary Wall Boards and a Beach Teahouse Window. The next summer event is set to start in August.

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, usually translated as “Everyday Life with Monster Girls” but also as “Daily Life with a Monster Girl” or “Everyday Monster Girls“, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Okayado. The manga first began as a series of hentai one-shots. An anime adaption has been announced to Air in July 2015.

Monster Musume is currently published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten in their Monthly Comic Ryu magazine and by Seven Seas Entertainment in the United States, with the chapters collected and reprinted into—so far—6 tankobon volumes. The story revolves around Kimihito Kurusu, often referred to as “Darling” among various other things, a Japanese student whose life is totally thrown into turmoil after becoming involved with the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange” program by mistake.

Three years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction; they are flesh and blood—not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. When a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a “volunteer” into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu’s job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life. Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Natsuki Takaya’s New Fruits Basket Manga to Release in September

Eight years after the release of the final volume of Natsuki Takaya’s famous shoujo, Fruits Basket, Hakusensha announced that a sequel to the series was prepared to launch this Fall. The manga, called Fruits Basket Another, is to be released on HanaLalaOnline on September 4th. Set after Tohru Honda’s graduation, the manga features a new protagonist by the name of Sawa who has recently enrolled at Kaibara High School. The original 136 chapters of Fruits Basket were published in Hana To Yume from 1998 to 2006, selling 18.5 million volumes.

Hakusensha is to release the original 23 volumes on the same day as the new manga releases. The most current visual features Sawa in front of who is assumed to be Kyo and Yuki Sohma, the two primary male protagonists of the original series. There are currently two videos advertising the new manga, uploaded by Hakusensha, along the cover art for the first two collectors edition volumes.

Noragami Second Season Promotional Video Streamed

The official website for Noragami Aragoto, the second TV anime season of Adachitoka’s Noragami manga, began streaming the first promotional video on Friday.

In addition to this, the website revealed that Hisako Tojo (Albertina II from Himegoto) and Takanori Hoshino (Van from Gun x Sword) will join the cast as Aiha and Kugaha, respectively. The website also revealed designs for the two characters.

It was also revealed earlier that Noragami will receive two new OVAs which will be bundled with the 15th and 16th manga volumes on November 17, 2015 and March 17, 2016. The first will feature the chapter, Nijikan no Teikei ni So Koto (Following A Stereotypical Two Hours), from the spin-off series Noragami: Shuuishuu. The second will be based on the 41st chapter of the manga, where the main characters pay a visit to Capyper Land. Previously, a 2-episode OVA was released in 2014. The first episode adapted the 25th chapter of the manga, and the second episode adapted the cherry blossom-viewing arc.

Noragami is a fantasy manga series by Adachitoka that began serialization in Kodansha’s Monthly Shounen Magazine in January 2011’s issue. It has been collected in twelve tankōbon volumes as of November 2014. An anime television series adaptation by Bones aired in Japan between January 5 and March 23, 2014.

Noragami synopsis from Haruhichan:

Yato is a minor deity who lacks even a single shrine. In order to build his own shrine and gain recognition as a god, he scrawls his cell number on the wall of a downtown bathroom telling people he will help them in exchange for a 5-yen offering, becoming a self-styled “delivery god.” Hiyori, the daughter of a respectable family, is almost killed in a traffic accident, but is rescued by Yato. This causes her to become a “hanyou,” a person who can exit her body in soul form. She chases Yato down, and they begin to work together to help Yato be recognized. Yato also finds a boy named Yukine who becomes a Regalia, a “sacred treasure” that can be used by a god as a weapon to fight. The three of them battle phantoms who bring harm to humans as Yato’s dark hidden history is gradually revealed.

With Platinum Games recently revealing at E3 a few weeks ago that a full-fledged Transformers action game called Transformers: Devastation will be hitting all platforms this fall, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance director Kenji Saito was recently asked by a fan on Twitter if he’d be interested in making a game based off the Gatchaman franchise or Tatsunoko’s Karas, he instead replied:

2nd Live-Action Attack on Titan English Sub Trailer Streamed

There are only two weeks left until the release of the first live-action Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) film, based on Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga, and a brand new trailer has been revealed. The 3 minute long trailer, with subtitles, shows us new footage of the upcoming film of the titans break down Wall Maria and the early days of Eren in the Survey Corps.

The second film will have its own unique subtitle and will be called Attack on Titan: End of the World. It will be released in Japanese theaters on September 19. The first film, simply titled Attack on Titan, will open on August 1st.

The cast of the film were earlier announced and the first set of images were released a few weeks earlier. The main cast will have:

In regards to the cast, producer Yoshihiro Sato had discussions with creator Hajime Isayama and decided to cast actors and actresses that could act and flesh out the characters rather than just looking like them. One of the new original characters for the film, Shikishima, will be a key character to the film being titled “humanity’s strongest man”. Isayama will be overseeing the story of the upcoming film. Higuchi has confirmed that the two films will be set in the same world and feature the same characters, though the film will also incorporate new characters and enemies. The films were filmed at Hashima Island in the Nagasaki Prefecture, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture and Toho studio.

The Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) series was created by Hajime Isayama. It started off as a manga in 2009 and is published in Kodansha’s monthly Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. To date there has been 14 compiled volumes of the manga. A prequel light novel adaptation started in 2011, and two spin-off manga started serialization in 2012: Shingeki no Kyojin: Before the Fall and Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou. In April 2013 the series was picked up for an anime adaptation. The anime series was produced by the newly formed Wit Studios. The series has grown in popularity since the anime’s debut, with the manga selling over 36 million copies as of April this year. Two live action film adaptations will be releasing in Japan next year. The second season of the anime was earlier announced to air in 2016.

Kekkai Sensen May Be Delayed but Check out This Sweet Visual

Kekkai Sensen may be delayed but that doesn’t stop the poster visuals appearing in magazines. A new visual in the latest issue of PASH! Magazine has featured a poster with Steven A. Starphase and Klaus Von Reinhertz preparing a feast for the gang at Libra.

Recently a cheery poster visual featuring William Macbeth, Mary Macbeth, Leonardo Watch and Michella Watch, from Yasuhiro Nightow’s Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) has been featured in the August issue of popular Japanese magazine NewType. This issue of NewType can be purchased here.

Last month the official website for the anime adaptation of Yasuhiro Nightow’s Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront) manga series revealed that the 12th and final episode has been delayed beyond the previously announced July 4-5 weekend dates. The anime’s production committee explained that the staff determined that the final episode cannot air in a 30-minute timeslot, since its required length will be longer than estimated.

The staff still plan to air the final episode on the MBS, Tokyo MX, and BS11 stations, but the broadcast dates and times have yet to be determined. When the dates and times are decided, the anime’s official website and Twitter account will announce them.

Instead of the final episode, a special program for Kekkai Sensen will air on the following stations and dates:

MBS: Saturday, July 4 at 27:28 (effectively, July 5 at 3:28 a.m.)
Tokyo MX: Sunday, July 5 at 24:00 (effectively, July 6 at midnight)
BS11: Sunday, July 5 at 24:30 (effectively, July 6 at 12:20 a.m.)

The staff members had announced that they would delay the final episode until July 4 at 26:28 JST (July 5 at 2:28 a.m.) on MBS. However, MBS had already scheduled the premiere of the Durarara!!x2 Ten season for the same 26:28 timeslot on July 4.

In addition to this, the series has been featured as a double page spread in the July issue of Japanese anime magazine Animedia. The new visual features Klaus von Reinherz, Leonardo Watch, Zapp Renfro and others enjoying a nice time at the sea.

Kekkai Sensen is a Japanese shounen manga by Yasuhiro Nightow. It has published bimonthly in the magazine Jump SQ.19 ever since 2009 and moved to Jump Square upon the former’s ending. It follows a young photographer named Leonardo Watch who obtained the All Seeing Eyes at the cost of his sister’s eyesight. He moves to the city of Hellsalem’s Lot to join an organization known as Libra to fight several monsters as well as terrorists. The manga has been published in the United States by Dark Horse Comics.

Kekkai Sensen synopsis from Haruhichan:

A breach between Earth and the netherworlds has opened up over the city of New York, trapping New Yorkers and creatures from other dimensions in an impenetrable bubble. They’ve lived together for years, in a world of crazy crime sci-fi sensibilities.
