However, this average-looking fellow doesn’t have your average problem… He’s actually a superhero that’s looking for tough opponents! The problem is, every time he finds a promising candidate he beats the snot out of them in one punch. Can Saitama finally find an evil villain strong enough to challenge him? Follow Saitama through his hilarious romps as he searches for new bad guys to challenge!

Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou, usually translated as “Everyday Life with Monster Girls” but also as “Daily Life with a Monster Girl” or “Everyday Monster Girls“, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Okayado. The manga first began as a series of hentai one-shots. An anime adaption has been announced to Air in July 2015.

Monster Musume is currently published in Japan by Tokuma Shoten in their Monthly Comic Ryu magazine and by Seven Seas Entertainment in the United States, with the chapters collected and reprinted into—so far—6 tankobon volumes. The story revolves around Kimihito Kurusu, often referred to as “Darling” among various other things, a Japanese student whose life is totally thrown into turmoil after becoming involved with the “Interspecies Cultural Exchange” program by mistake.

Monster Musume synopsis from MAL:

Monsters—they’re real, and they want to date us! Three years ago, the world learned that harpies, centaurs, catgirls, and all manners of fabulous creatures are not merely fiction; they are flesh and blood—not to mention scale, feather, horn, and fang. Thanks to the “Cultural Exchange Between Species Act,” these once-mythical creatures have assimilated into society, or at least, they’re trying.

When a hapless human named Kurusu Kimihito is inducted as a “volunteer” into the government exchange program, his world is turned upside down. A snake-like lamia named Miia comes to live with him, and it is Kurusu’s job to take care of her and make sure she integrates into his everyday life. Unfortunately for Kurusu, Miia is undeniably sexy, and the law against interspecies breeding is very strict. Even worse, when a ravishing centaur girl and a flirtatious harpy move in, what’s a full-blooded young man with raging hormones to do?!

To date, the series has a total of 5 volumes with the 6th volume releasing on December 26th this year.

There is very little information regarding the anime announcement of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, including whether or no Kyoto Animation will produce it. Two other spin-off manga were also produced into anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya and Nyoron Churuya-san.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan synopsis from Haruhichan:

Nagato Yuki “Earns Her Wings” in New Visual

2

In June’s Nyantype magazine, Akitaka Mika revealed his drawing of Nagato Yuki featuring robot-inspired angel wings. Akitaka is currently on the animation staff for Satelight, and is known for his designs featured in Mecha anime such as the famous Mobile Suit Gundam series, Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endymion no Kiseki and Martian Successor Nadesico. An interesting component of the visual is that Nagato Yuki, the human version of the protagonist of Nagato Yuki-Chan no Shoushitsu is a robotic interface in the original Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuuutsu.

If you are currently learning or plan to learn Japanese, I highly recommend you to try a copy of this magazine to study with. It is not only packed with posters, it’s also packed with previews, character profiles, articles, manga, and other great content which is great for studying and practicing with and can be viewed HERE.

My favorite posters from this months issue would have to be Grisaia no Kajitsu (I’m a sucker for bunny outfits), Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu (Fan service doesn’t really suit Yuki but I can’t say no to this poster) and Shirobako (A great series deserves a great poster).

You can purchase the issue I covered in this post here or you can subscribe to JList‘s NyanType’s subscription service for $12~$16/month here. All sales made through JList help us continue to bring unique content to the site as well as supporting us!

If you want to see a different type of magazine each month, let us know. Also, if you had the chance to win a poster or two from above, which would it be and why? The best comment will receive a $10 JList certificate when next month’s NyanType post goes live; we’ll email you the coupon via the email you used to comment. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
