After a busy and hectic schedule, you may want to take a short break from all the studying and work that you have to do. There might only be less than ten to fifteen minutes to spare and a whole ordinary anime episode is too long for that. Well, here is a list of few short anime shows in various genres in fifteen minutes or less that might pique your interest to watch during your free time.

Ane Log

The story centers on Moyako Konoe and her younger brother Akira. When they were younger, Akira proposed to her, so Moyako thinks he is a pervert who has fallen in love with his older sister. Moyako’s misunderstanding leads her to create wild delusions about her brother.

Bonjour♪Koiaji Pâtisserie

Sayuri Haruno dreams of becoming a pastry chef and enrolls in Fleurir Confectionary Academy, an elite school located in Tokyo’s trendy Aoyama district. At Fleurir, she finds herself surrounded by charming boys, each one distinctly unique. Out of the entire class, Ryou Kouzuki’s desire to become a pastry chef is the strongest. Blessed with unparalleled technique, instructor Mitsuki Aoi acts like a prince and is hugely popular at the school. Gilbert Hanafusa, the mood maker of the bunch, is a student from France. Yoshinosuke Suzumi is not very good at expressing his feelings, but underneath his stony exterior lies a wholehearted passion for wagashi (Japanese sweets).

Chi’s Sweet Home

A grey and white kitten with black stripes wanders away from her mother and siblings one day while enjoying a walk outside. Lost in her surroundings, the kitten struggles to find her family and instead is found by a young boy, Youhei, and his mother. They take the kitten home, but pets are not allowed in their housing complex, so they try to find a new home for the kitten. This proves to be difficult, and the family eventually decides to keep the kitten, naming her “Chi.”

Chitose Get You!!

Chitose is an 11-year-old girl who is madly in love with an older guy named Hiroshi. He works at the town hall right next to the school and Chitose spends every day relentlessly pursuing him. Can Chitose ever convince Hiroshi to go out with her?

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai Ken

The anime follows the daily life of an earnest, hardworking office lady named Kaoru and her otaku husband, Hajime, who is totally immersed in a certain huge net bulletin board system.

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage

It is sometime in the future, where a certain European city extends far underground, even secret, dark levels that have the key to the past. Ex-assassin Mihai has returned and is living with Kiri, who now runs a resturaunt. Sword-wielding Naoto, Haine (white hair), a mysterious product of genetic engineering and his sometime partner Badou (eyepatch).

Double-J

In a school where after school activities are mandatory among all students, Hajime and her friend Sayo come across a new club that they have never seen before. The club is called “The Cultural Activity Preservation Club.” The two enter the room to find all kinds of analog jobs and activities, such as handcrafting mats and toothpicks. This is a unique cultural manga mixed with comedy so as not to bore you, this is Double J!

Doujin Work

Doujin Work follows the life of a young girl named Najimi Osana and her exposure into the doujin world. She was first tempted into becoming a doujin artist after seeing how much one of her friends can make at a convention. Najimi loves to draw, though soon learns contrary to what she expected that this new world is anything but easy. As she attends more conventions and meets more people, Najimi eventually manages to find a group of very interesting friends. These friends already have some experience in the field and help her out along the way so that she can someday make a name for herself creating doujinshi.

Dragon Collection

Through an unexpected turn of events, an ordinary elementary school student, Hiro Enryuu, finds himself in the world of the “Dragon Collection” game. This is a world called Dragon Earth, where gods, humans, and monsters exist side by side. Those who roam this world using a magic book, called a Grimoire, and cards to summon monsters and search for treasures that bear the powers of dragons are called Dracolle Battlers. Despite his bewilderment, Hiro becomes a Dracolle Battler and, together with the friends he meets there, begins his adventure to become a legendary Dragon Master!

Gakkatsu!

In a fictional school, “Tender Tank” Rareko is constantly opening absurd yet strangely enthusiastic debates, this way creating a lively classroom life. Bringing up tremendous themes, she and her classmates exchange words like sword-strokes, and here and there even a profound remark is slipped in.

A fun and informative debate comedy, packed into only five minutes each time.

Halo Legends

This sweeping science-fiction saga delves into the rich Halo universe with 7 exciting stories including tales of Master Chief’s mysterious origins, the Spartans’ advanced combat capabilities and the tense rivalry between Spartans and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODSTs).

Hetalia Axis Powers

Based on a popular web-released manga series by Hidekazu Himaruya, this has been described as a “cynical gag” story set in Europe in the years between WW1 and WW2 (1918-1939), using exaggerated caricatures of the different nationalities as portrayed by a gaggle of bishōnen. For example, the Italia Veneziano character is into pasta and women. The Deutsche (German) bishi loves potatoes and sausages, and Nippon is an otaku boy. Installments of the manga have jumped back and forth in setting from the ancient times to modern-day geopolitics. The manga’s title comes the Japanese words for “useless” (hetare) and Italy (Italia).

Himegoto

Himegoto follows Hime Arikawa, a second-year student at Shimoshina High School. Forced to assume a large amount of debt from by his now-absent parents, Hime is saved by the three girls of his school’s student council after he is chased down by debt collectors. In return for paying off his debt, Hime agrees to their conditions of becoming the student council’s “dog” and spending his high school life dressed as a girl.

Ishida to Asakura

Anime adaptation of the surreal gag manga about two high school boys, Ishida and Asakura.

Kaichuu!

Tachikawa Tetsuya is a freshman at a new high school and he wants to become a great archer, like his late grandfather, Fudou.

One day, a new transfer student joins his class. In a surprise to everyone, it is a cute girl and not a guy like the rumors were saying… The name is Sasaki Gonzaburou, and… “she”… or maybe “he”… well, this person has some “little” secrets.

Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki

This is the anime adaptation of Kantoku Fuyuki Todoki (Insufficient Direction), the first essay manga by the “queen of the manga world,” Moyoco Anno. The comedic and heartwarming autobiographical story follows her everyday married “otaku lifestyle” with Hideaki Anno, “the founder of the otaku cult.”

Kyou no Asuka Show

Asuka is a cute and clueless high school girl who habitually does things, in all innocence, that seem sexually suggestive to the men around her. Each chapter in “Today’s Asuka Show” features a different awkward situation.

Maji de Otaku na English! Ribbon-chan: Eigo de Tatakau Mahou Shoujo

Original anime that aims to teach English with cute girl characters.

Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation

The story depicts the work-life of a perverted mangaka, Aito Yuuki, and his assistant, Ashisu Sahoto. Constantly pressured by his editor and lacking experience with girls, Aito asks Ashisu to act as a reference.

Marika is a gothic lolita who somehow ends up in the mysterious town of Galihabara. There she meets different famous scientists like Galileo Galilei, Marie Skłodowska Curie and Sir Isaac Newton.

Miss Monochrome: The Animation

“Miss Monochrome” is an original character design from seiyuu Horie Yui. In March 2012, she first used the “Miss Monochrome” character as a 3D virtual singer to sing her songs at her concert “Horie Yui wo Meguru Bouken III ~Secret Mission Tour~.” Later, the character appeared in a range of merchandise as well as in the social network game “Girlfriend (Beta).”

According to the setting, Miss Monochrome loves only the monochrome style, dislikes all kinds of color, and always dreams about changing the world into her favorite monochrome color.

Miyakawa-ke no Kuufuku

A spin-off of Lucky Star. Centers around big sister Hinata Miyakawa and little sister Hikage Miyakawa’s impoverished daily life at home (due to Hinata’s wasteful habits) and Hikage’s life at elementary school.

Morita-san wa Mukuchi.

Morita Mayu, a high school girl. She is extremely reticent and her silence and habit of looking at people’s eyes straightly sometimes cause misunderstanding. The reason behind it is not because she doesn’t like to talk nor because she has nothing to say. The reason she rarely speaks is due to the fact she thinks too much before speaking, thus losing the timing to speak altogether. But she lives a happy school life with her classmates.

Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san

Mukoujima Takurou is a lonely teenager who spends his time fishing at the pier and, to his incredible surprise, fishes up Muromi, a mermaid. Muromi first off doesn’t realize she’s a mermaid until she meets Takurou. Not only that, she is incredibly dense and crazy and has a drinking problem to top it off. Now every time Takurou goes fishing, Muromi appears and makes life interesting for him.

Onee-chan ga Kita

The story revolves around Tomoya Mizuhara, a 13-year-old boy who suddenly gains a big sister when his father remarries. 17-year-old Ichika is a little strange, and her affection for Tomoya is rather overwhelming, if not scary. On top of things, Ichika’s friend Ruri is the ultimate sadist. Then there is Ichika’s big-breasted quarter-Japanese friend Marina.

Oreca Battle

The anime adaptation revolves around a young boy named Faiya Orega who loves Oreca competitions. One day, he is granted the power to summon real Oreca monsters due to the mysterious powers of the treasure chest Pandora. To protect the peace of the Oreca world, Faiya must fight the demon king who threatens the land.

Orenchi no Furo Jijou

Tatsumi is a high school boy who lives by himself. However, a devastatingly handsome merman named Wakasa moves into the bathtub in Tatsumi’s home. Wakasa is a bit self-centered but cute, while Tatsumi is cool but a busybody.

Oshiri Kajiri Mushi

A gag comedy about Oshiri Kajiri Mushi XVIII, a 10-year-old insect who goes to Biting School to inherit his family’s Biting Shop business.

Plastic Nee-san

Based on Kurii Cha’s gag comedy manga, Plastic Nee-san is a very short anime that follows a third-year high school girl who likes building plastic models and the wacky conversations she has with her fellow club members.

Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki

Moe Sato is a young lady who finds a cat and starts taking care of him. Named Poyo due to his round shape, he quickly becomes a dear member of the Sato family.

Rec

Fumihiko Matsumaru is an average salaryman with no girlfriend. He invited his colleague Miss Tanaka to a movie but was stood up. Right at the time he was about to toss tickets into a trash can, a cute girl appeared and asked him not to waste those two tickets. After movie and dinner, he escorted her home and found they live in the same neighborhood, yet unfortunately her apartment caught on fire hours later. Having nowhere else to stay, rookie seiyuu Aka Onda moved to Matsumaru’s place, and the two had started a “more than friend but not yet lovers” relationship under the same roof while keeping this secret from their employers.

Recorder to Randoseru

Miyagawa Atsushi is an 11-year-old boy who is 180 centimeters tall. Since he has a grown-up looking build but acts his age, he has always been running into troubles. On the other hand, his 17-year-old elder sister Atsumi is only 137 centimeters tall. Even though she has a childish looking build, Atsumi takes good care of Atsushi.

Sengoku☆Paradise Kiwami

Based on the online mobile phone otome game “Sengoku☆Paradise”.

The first 3 minutes of the 10 minute spot for Sengoku☆Paradise Kiwami is the anime. The rest of the 7 minutes is of Sengoku☆Paradise Kiwami cast members Daisuke Namikawa and others (first time with Tetsuya Kakihara, second time with Rei Mochizuki) going on missions, plus an informative short.

Senyuu.

Long ago, there lived an evil being who reigned over the world through fear, called Satan Rchimedes. He invaded the human world with his many demon underlings, spreading madness and chaos everywhere. One thousand years ago, this menace was sealed by the hero Creation, and peace returned to the world.

Then, one day, a great hole suddenly appeared on the surface of the world, and a vast number of demons appeared. The king discerned that the menace Satan had returned after being sealed away for a thousand years, and decided to send the hero’s descendants to battle him. He found 75 men. As one thousand years had passed, you see, it was difficult to tell who the hero’s descendants were.

So the king declared that he would grant the title of “true hero” and great fortune to the one who defeated Satan, and ordered the new hero, Alba, and his warrior attendant, Ross, on a quest to bring down the evil Satan.

Though he struggles with lesser monsters and is even nearly killed by his partner Ross, Alba’s quest to polish his fighting skills leads him to new places and new meetings that he had never expected. Battles, laughter, and emotional moments enhance this adventure tale of an incompetent hero and a sadistic warrior!

Shiba Inuko-san

Shibainuko-san is a 14-year-old girl who looks exactly like a Shiba Inu dog. One of her classmates, Ishibashi Chako, wonders about her appearance, but no one else thinks it is strange.

Strange+

Kou comes to a slum neighborhood in search of his elder brother Takumi and finds him to have become the head of a private detective firm. Kou is drafted by Takumi to do errands and chores in the detective firm, and they come to meet various interesting people…

Starry☆Sky

The heroine, Tsukiko, enrolled to a school that was recently changed from all-boys school to co-ed. Since the area where the school is conveniently rural and the rather exclusive curriculums the school has, up until now the heroine is the only one female who enrolled to the school.

In Starry Sky, the 13 constellations of the Zodiac are personified into handsome young men. The anime will be directed by Kiyomo Sayaka who worked with Vampire Knight. Similar to Hetalia – Axis Powers, Starry Sky’s anime will be distributed through the Animate.tv website and other means.

Super Seisyun Brothers

The story involves two pairs of teenage elder sister and younger brother, the Shinmoto’s who are a bit narcissistic and the Saitou’s who look a bit mysterious. It follows their everyday life in school and at home.

Teekyuu

Teekyuu is based on a sports comedy manga of the same name featuring four high school girls who belong to a tennis club.

Tesagure! Bukatsumono

The CG anime centers around the extracurricular activities of students.

Tonari no Seki-kun

The original manga revolves around a girl named Yokoi who sits next to a boy only known as Seki-kun. During class, Seki-kun continues to not pay attention and instead creates amazing little distractions, such as a detailed golf course with the course’s hole being a dent in his desk, or an entire dramatic war being played out by paper shogi pieces. Yokoi often finds herself getting reluctantly interested in his games, even though they always seem to end up getting HER in trouble with the teacher!

Turning Girls

The story is about girls who face a battle against the turning point of their lives.

Wooser no Sono Higurashi

3D shorts centered around Wooser, a mysterious mascot character whose charming appearance belies a corrupt heart.

World Fool News (TV)

A TV anime remake of the World Fool News ONA.

Takahashi is transferred to a main anchor of a news program, which is known for being a little…weird. This is a comedy about somewhat ridiculous happenings occurring at a broadcasting station.

Yama no Susume

Aoi prefers indoor hobbies and is afraid of heights, but her childhood friend Hinata loves to show off her passion for mountain climbing. As young children they once watched the sunrise from the top of a mountain, and now they’ve decided to take up mountain climbing in hopes of seeing that sunrise again. They have cooking battles with mountaineering gear, climb small hills in their neighborhood, and meet new mountaineering friends as they learn the ropes of the hobby. When will they finally see that sunrise again?

Yurumates 3D

Yurume, an 18-year-old “ronin” and recent high school graduate, has high hopes of being accepted and attending Tokyo University. She moves into an apartment complex, the Maison du Wish, located on the outskirts of Tokyo where other ronins living there are studying for upcoming college acceptance exams.

Yutori-chan

Comedy anime about the generation gaps. The three main characters represent the major generations of Japanese; Yutori (teenagers), Tsumekomi (20-30s) and Dankai (middle age). Tsumekomi-chan is an office worker in a toy company and supervises the part-time working student Yutori-chan. She tries to get along with Yutori-chan but her selfish behavior typical of the Yutori generation is incomprehensible.

Inferno Cop

The story deals with those in this world who dwell in the dark, invisible to the naked eye. From time to time, these figures bare their fangs and attack people. Inferno Cop is a messenger of justice who came from the depths of hell to protect people from them.

There She Is!!

The plot revolves around Doki, a female rabbit, meeting, falling in love with, and chasing Nabi, a male cat, in a world where love between the two species is socially unacceptable. The theme of the short is that all love can be accepted and has a chance. Nabi attempts to cure Doki’s infatuation for him, but after seeing the extent of her love, he gives in and finds something he can appreciate in her.

We hope that you at like the list! I, personally, like short anime shows because they’re quick to watch and enjoyable. Other people may think of these shows as shallow and boring, but why not give it a try? Anime also serves as a quick relief from all the stresses we worked for a day. It’s fun to be positive and take a short break. Don’t forget to eat during your breaks too!
