The official website for the Code Geass: Akito the Exiled series began streaming a new trailer for the fifth and final episode of the series on Friday. The episode will open in Japan in 36 theaters in Japan on February 6, after being delayed from its original fall 2015 release window. The trailer previews the episode’s story.
In addition to this, the website also unveiled a new visual for the episode. The tagline reads, “To live in this world, I’ll keep on fighting.”
Code Geass: Akito the Exiled is a theatrical OVA. It was officially announced in the bonus materials of Code Geass: The Miraculous Birthday. The new theatrical OVA is directed by Kazuki Akane (of Vision of Escaflowne and Noein: Mou Hitori no Kimi e fame) and once again features original character designs by CLAMP. It is a side-story that occurs between seasons one and two ofCode Geass.
The official website for the anime adaptation of Koutarou Kosugi’s Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [LocoDol] Yattemita. manga began streaming a 30-second commercial for the upcoming second OVA project, which is a Christmas special. The anime special will air on Christmas Eve before it ships on home video.
The special will air on TBS late at night on December 24, and then will air on CS-TBS Channel 2 on December 25 at 1:30 a.m., and then on BS-TBS on December 26 at 1:30 a.m. Miku Itou (who plays Nanako) and Sachika Misawa (Yukari) will perform a new opening theme. The staff will announce the artist for the new ending theme at a later date.
The staff will also host an “all-nighter” event at Cinemart Shinjuku in Tokyo on December 24, which will show select episodes and the OVA. Miku Itou and Sachika Misawa will attend the event.

In the town of Nagarekawa, Nanako Usami, an ordinary high school girl, is approached by her uncle to become a local idol or “Locodol,” partnering with upperclassman Yukari Kohinata to form the idol unit, Nagarekawa Girls. As the girls use their talent to promote Nagarekawa and their businesses, they are joined by Yui Mikoze, who acts as the local mascot, and Mirai Nazukari, who serves as Yui’s substitute.
Locodol, short for Futsuu no Joshikousei ga [Locodol] Yatte Mita., is a Japanese four-panel comedy manga series written and illustrated by Kotaro Kosugi. It made its first appearance in Ichijinsha’s Manga 4-Koma Palette magazine with the October 2011 issue. An anime television series adaptation by Feel aired between July and September 2014.
Kyoto Animation (Hibike! Euphonium, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!) has released the second promotional video for their anime adaptation of Souichirou Shinno and Shirabi’s Musaigen no Phantom World (Myriad Colors Phantom World) novel. The new video introduces to us the main characters of the new anime and their powers. The video also previews the anime’s Opening theme song: “Naked Dive” performed by the duo SCREEN mode.
The Musaigen no Phantom World anime will start its broadcast on the midnight of Wednesday, January 6/Thursday January 7, on Tokyo MX, during the Winter 2015/2016 anime season.

Musaigen no Phantom World (Myriad Colors Phantom World) is a supernatural and fantasy novel written by Souichirou Shinno with illustrations from Shirabi. The novel was published in December 2013 under Kyoto Animation’s imprint where it earned the award of Honourable Mention at the 2013 Kyoto Animation Awards.
The story takes place in the near future, in a world born of human imagination. What humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called “phantoms.” The main character, Haruhiko Ichijou, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability “Spirit of Five Elements,” Reina Izumi, who has the ability “Phantom Eater,” and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.

Re: Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re: Life in a Different World from Zero) is a fantasy light novel series written by Tappei Nagatsuki with illustrations by Shintarou Otsuka. The series started in early 2014 being published under Kadokawa’s MF Bunko J imprint. To date a total of 6 volumes have been published. There have been two manga adaptations produced thus far. The first manga is drawn by Daichi Matsue and published under Monthly Comic Alive where the series ended at 2 volumes. The second series is by Makoto Fugetsu with the first volume releasing in March under Square Enix’s Big Gangan magazine.

The latest issue of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine has revealed the first visual for the upcoming story arc of the Dragon Ball Super (Dragon Ball Chou) anime. The visual itself is for the anime’s next arc, the Champa arc. The arc will be focusing on the God of Destruction Champa, the twin brother of Beerus. The arc itself began in the 5th chapter of the Dragon Ball Super manga and will be animated from episode 27.
Dragon Ball is an acclaimed manga created by Akira Toriyama that was first published in 1984. The first anime adaptation of the manga, Dragon Ball, first aired in 1986 and was produced by Toei Animation. The series ended in 1989, in which the second half of the manga was then adapted with a new name: Dragon Ball Z. The anime and manga series were insanely popular in Japan, with the manga itself selling over 156 million copies to date, being the second highest selling manga of all time. The anime was soon picked up by Funimation Entertainment in 1995 to distribute in North America, where they made their own dub for the anime. Since then, a slew of merchandise, films, manga, games and card games, began releasing worldwide to capitalise on the franchise’s popularity till this day, over 30 years since the manga was first published.

The Champa arc of Dragon Ball Super (Dragon Ball Chou) will start from the 27th episode of the anime, airing next year in mid January.

In addition to this, the official website previously revealed that it will premiere in April 2016 and unveiled a new visual for the series.
The anime adaptation of Bakuon!! was revealed on the 6th volume of the manga with a wraparound jacket.
Bakuon!! is a motorcycle, slice of life manga written and illustrated by Mimana Orimoto. The series began in early 2011 being serialized in Akita Shoten’s Young Champion Retsu magazine. To date a total of 6 compiled volumes have been produced, with a 7th volume releasing on March 18, 2016. The series itself features motorcycles from real companies. An anime adaptation has been announced and slated for 2016.
Bakuon!! synopsis from MAL:
The story revolves around high school girls who discover the appeal of motorcycles. Sakura Hane is a high school student who looks a little bit like an airhead. On the way to her all-female high school one day, she is worn-out climbing a hilly road with a bicycle, but she sees a girl named Onsa Amano who is riding a motorcycle. Sakura immediately becomes interested in motorcycles, and she and Onsa join the motorcycle club at the school. Then, Sakura sets out to get her license.
The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Sousei no Onmyouji (Twin Star Exorcists) has revealed three cast members and the character designs for the main two.

The series will be animated by Studio Pierrot (Tokyo Ghoul, Naruto) and to broadcast in 2016. The first key visual of the series was also unveiled.
Avex Pictures will exhibit the series on December 19 and 20 at Jump Festa 2016, which will be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. Fusion musical group Wagakki Band will perform the theme song of the series.
The series art and story is done by Yoshiaki Sukeno (Binbougami ga!) and currently has six volumes in print. It has been serialized by Jump SQ Magazine since November 2013.

This new One Piece movie will be the 13th coming out, it will be airing this summer on July 23rd, 2016. Eiichiro Oda, the original creator of the One Piece manga and anime will obviously be the executive producer. The film will be directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto, who directed the One Piece TV anime from episode 352 to 679 and was the assistant director forOne Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island. The script will be written by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, screenwriter of the Black Butler live action, the Samurai Sensei drama series and Strawberry Night. This will his first anime-related work.

During the recent December 15 Super Smash Bros. direct, the final DLC character has been revealed and it is none other than the Umbra Witch Bayonetta from Platinum Games’ Bayonetta. She will be in the game with all her powers, including Witch Time and her Wicked Weaves. Her inclusion in the game was a result of a poll that Nintendo conducted asking fans for what of their characters they would want in the game. Bayonetta herself was ranked first in Europe and in the top 5 in North America.
Bayonetta will be available in Super Smash Bros. For 3DS & Wii U very soon, with the development team aiming for a February release.

The live-action movie adapted of Ichigo Takano’s Orange shoujo manga series is now top of the Japanese box office with 312 million yen (2,558,540 American Dollars).
Mitsujiro Hashimoto directed the new official live-action film based off Ichigo Takano’s manga Orange, it opened on 302 screens in Japan on December 12th and making 312 million yen. The movie is expected to earn around 1.8 billion yen from its total domestic run.
For the comparison, the live-action film is ranked first while the latest James Bond movie “Spectre” is on second position, “The Little Prince” is 10th and “Girls and Panzer der Film” is 8th.

Fans of Kojima’s work, including the Metal Gear series and cult-hit Snatcher, can rejoice as Sony Computer Entertainment and Hideo Kojima have officially announced that they will be partnering to bring Kojima’s next, debut title – with the resurrected Kojima Productions – exclusively to PlayStation 4.
This comes hot off the trails on our previous article which featured a Nikkei article, hinting at the impending collaboration as Hideo Kojima officially departed with Konami on December 15th.
“I’m happy to let you know that I have established my own independent studio today,” said Kojima as he sat beside Andrew House, President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment. “I’m thrilled to embark on creating a new franchise with PlayStation that will give you all a new and innovative gaming experience so please stay tuned.”
