First Musaigen no Phantom World Commercial Streamed

Kyoto Animation have streamed the first commercial video for the upcoming anime adaptation of Souichirou Shinno and Shirabi’s Musaigen no Phantom World (Myriad Colors Phantom World) novel. The anime series will premiere from January 6.

Musaigen no Phantom World (Myriad Colors Phantom World) is a supernatural and fantasy novel written by Souichirou Shinno with illustrations from Shirabi. The novel was published in December 2013 under Kyoto Animation’s imprint where it earned the award of Honourable Mention at the 2013 Kyoto Animation Awards.

Here is the series synopsis from Haruhichan:

The story takes place in the near future, in a world born of human imagination. What humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called “phantoms.” The main character, Haruhiko Ichijou, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability “Spirit of Five Elements,” Reina Izumi, who has the ability “Phantom Eater,” and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.

HaruChika Second Promotional Video Streamed and Slated for January 6

The official website of the anime adaptation of Sei Hatsuno’s HaruChika novel series began streaming the second promotional video on Wednesday. The series will premiere from January 6.

The website also revealed brand new visual for the upcoming January series. This was accompanied by news that pop band fhána’s opening will be called “After the Rain, The Rainbow” and singer ChouCho’s ending will be called “Imaginary Triangle.” The singles for both will be released January 27th.

In addition to this, a visual of the series has also been featured as a double page spread in the December 2015 issue of Japanese magazine NewType. This issue can be purchased here.

The anime adaptation of HaruChika will be titled HaruChika: Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru and will begin its broadcast in January 2016, during the Winter 2015/2016 anime season.

HaruChika is a mystery novel series written by Sei Hatsuno that began in 2008 published by Kadokawa. To date the series has a total of 4 volumes released with the 5th volume scheduled to release in the upcoming months.

The official website for the anime adaptation of Kenya Suzuki’s comedy manga Oshiete! Galko-chan has revealed the character designs for the main cast. The series will broadcast on Tokyo MX on January 8. The cast will also perform the opening theme song for the series which has yet to be given a title.

Divine Gate is a free to play mobile RPG developed by Acquire and published by GungHo Online Entertainment for iOS andAndroid devices. The game first launched in September 2003 and has over 4 Million downloads to date. The game itself has had many crossover promotions with various anime, including Steins;Gate, Fairy Tail, and Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works. In the game players choose their units and maneuver around dungeons via panels. Players will battle monsters and bosses also via a panel system.

Here is the synopsis of the series from MAL:

When the Divine Gate opened, the living world, the heavens, and the underworld became connected, ushering an era of chaos where desires and conflict intersect. To restore order, the World Council is formed. As peace is restored, the Divine Gate becomes an urban legend.

Meiko Shiraki Wants to Give You a Flu Shot for the Season

Prison School‘s Vice-President of the Underground Student Council, Meiko Shiraki, has been featured in a Japanese anime magazine as a poster.

In addition to this, on the wraparound jacket of the 19th volume of Akira Hiramoto’s Prison School manga revealed that the manga will get an OVA.

The OVA will be released with the limited edition of the 20th volume of the manga, which will go on sale on March 4, 2016. The staff and main cast of the TV anime will return for the new episode, adding Mikako Takahashi (Sakura Mizukami fromD-Frag!) as the voice of Mitsuko Yokoyama.

The OVA will feature the previously unanimated “Mad Wax” arc from the manga, after (Spoiler, highlight the text to read) Kiyoshi and the others leave the facility.

Akira Hiramoto first launched his manga in the Kodansha’s Young Magazine Weekly in February 2011. The manga won the best General Manga award alongside Yūji Moritaka and Keiji Adachi’s Gurazeni manga at Kodansha’s 37th Annual Manga Awards in May. The same wraparound band on the 14th volume also notes that the manga has more than 3.5 million copies in print.

Akira Hiramoto’s Ago Nashi Gen to Ore Monogatari manga received a mobile phone anime adaptation in 2010. Hiramoto’s Yarisugi Companion to Atashi Monogatari manga inspired a live-action film in 2011. Akira Hiramoto also wrote the award-winning supernatural drama manga Me and the Devil Blues, which Del Rey published in North America.

Sanzigen was founded in 2003, and incorporated in 2006 by former Gonzo employees as a studio specializing in CGI animation. The company has worked on CG production for various anime, such as Wooser’s Hand-to-Mouth Life, 009 Re:Cyborg, the new Initial D films, and The Heroic Legend of Arslan. The company has produced anime such as the Arpeggio of Blue Steel television anime and its subsequent films, and the Miss Monochrome series.

In 2011, Sanzigen formed the Ultra Super Pictures holding firm alongside Studio Trigger and Ordet. Matsuura serves as Sanzigen’s representative in the firm.

Bubuki Buranki synopsis from Haruhichan:

When Azuma Ikki returns to Japan after 10 years, he gets assaulted by a group of armed men and becomes their prisoner. Kogane Asabuki, a childhood friend, saves him with a weapon on her right hand known as Bubuki, a weapon with its own mind. Azuma Ikki, who is a Bubuki user himself, learns about the existence of Bubuki and goes on a journey alongside the companions he has found in an attempt to find and revive Oumai, a Buranki (titan) who sleeps underground.

The “himouto” in the title is a pormanteau of himono (干物?, “dried fish”) and imouto (妹?, “little sister”).

Boruto: Naruto the Movie Blu-ray & DVD Listed for July 2016

The latest issue of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump has revealed that the Blu-ray and DVD release of Boruto: Naruto the Movie, the latest film in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto franchise, will be out in July next year. Further details and clarification about the release date will be revealed later.

In addition to the release, the magazine also pays attention to the upcoming Naruto stage show, which will be on during the first day of the 2016 Jump Festa event on the 19th. The show will be running from 3:00pm JST till 3:30pm JST. There is also a countdown website on Weekly Shonen Jump that will reveal information about the series’ Next Generation.

The film is the 11th overall film in the Naruto franchise set after the events of the manga, which has enjoyed enormous success in Japan. After its first month of release in August, the film has earned over ¥2.02 Billion (~ US$16.8 Million) in the 3 weeks that the film has been out. It has even outearned the previous films in the franchise, The Last -Naruto the Movie- which earned a total of ¥2 Billion (~ $16 Million USD) in its entire run andRoad to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, which ended at ¥ 1.46 billion (~ $12.4 million USD). Boruto -Naruto the Movie-finished its theatrical run at a total of ¥2.58 billion (~ $20.9 million USD).

Following the story where The Last and the Naruto manga left off with Hinata Hyuga and Naruto falling in love and getting married, the movie introduces the two’s hot-headed son that is left in need of paternal guidance while his father protects the Hidden Leaf Village as Hokage. Sasuke, Naruto’s former teammate, rival, and closest friend is now Boruto’s teacher along with his and Sakura’s own daughter, Sadara. While a major plot point of the original Naruto series was Naruto’s lack of biological and general paternal figures, he is displayed at doing his best to be the father Boruto deserves and the one he always wanted growing up.

The film will feature a new cast of characters that were revealed in the final 700th chapter of the original manga. Boruto is the son of Hinata Hyuga and the 7th Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. They also have a daughter named Himawari. Sarada Uchiha is Sasuke and “Sakura’s” daughter.

Naruto is an original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga began in 1999 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where to date a total of 69 volumes have released. Since its debut the manga has sold over 130 million copies in Japan alone. The series has also received two TV anime series adaptation, covering the manga’s two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Both series were produced by Studio Pierrot. Additionally, a total of 9 anime films have released to date and numerous OVAs and specials. A light novel spin-off was produced by Masatoshi Kusakabe and released in 2002, and a manga spinoff, titled Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden, began publishing in 2010 from Kenji Taira and was adapted into an anime in 2012. Today, the franchise is one of Japan’s most renowned and one of the most popular anime/manga series outside of Japan.

It has been revealed that an anime adaptation of manga Renai Boukun (The very lovely tyrant of love) has been green-lit.

GATE Second Season Commercial Streamed

The official website for the upcoming second season TV anime adaptation of Yanai Tagami’s light novel series Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri (Gate: The Self-Defense Forces Fight Like This in Another Land) began streaming a new commercial on Monday. The new series will air from January 8 on Tokyo MX.

It was recently revealed that the theme song performers from the first season will return to perform the theme songs for the second season. Kishida Kyoudan & The Akeboshi Rockets (Highschool of the Dead, Strike the Blood) is performing the opening theme “GATE II ~Sekai o Koete~” and the three main female cast members – Nao Touyama (Lelei la Lelena), Hisako Kanemoto (Tuka Luna Marceau), and Risa Taneda (Rory Mercury), will perform the ending theme.

Both songs will ship on CD on January 27, 2016.

In August of 20XX, a portal to a parallel world, known as the “Gate,” suddenly appeared in Ginza, Tokyo. Monsters and troops poured out of the portal, turning the shopping district into a bloody inferno.

The Japan Ground-Self Defence Force immediately took action and pushed the fantasy creatures back to the “Gate.” To facilitate negotiations and prepare for future fights, the JGSDF dispatched the Third Reconnaissance Team to the “Special Region” at the other side of the Gate.

Youji Itami, a JSDF officer as well as a 33-year-old otaku, was appointed as the leader of the Team. Amid attacks from enemy troops the team visited a variety of places and learnt a lot about the local culture and geography.

Thanks to their efforts in humanitarian relief, although with some difficulties they were gradually able to reach out to the locals. They even had a cute elf, a sorceress and a demigoddess in their circle of new friends. On the other hand, the major powers outside the Gate such as the United States,China and Russia were extremely interested in the abundant resources available in the Special Region. They began to exert diplomatic pressure over Japan.

A suddenly appearing portal to an unknown world—to the major powers it may be no more than a mere asset for toppling the international order. But to our protagonists it is an invaluable opportunity to broaden knowledge, friendship, and ultimately their perspective towards the world.

Shikada Kokonotsu’s father owns a rural sweets shop, and his plan is for Kokonotsu to take it over one day. However, Kokonotsu wants to be a manga author instead! One day in Summer, the cute but weird girl Shidare Hotaru, from the famous sweets company, comes to pay a visit. Apparently, Kokonotsu’s father is famous and she wants him to join her family’s company. However, he will only agree if she can convince Kokonotsu to take over the family business!

An anime adaptation of Dagashi Kashi will air on TBS in January 2016 during the Winter 2015/2016. More details about the anime will be unveiled in upcoming issues of Weekly Shonen Sunday.
