Over Lord is a Japanese light novel series written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so-bin. It began serialization online in 2010, before being acquired by Enterbrain. Eight volumes have been published since July 30, 2012. An anime adaptation has been announced. A manga adaptation with art by Hugin Miyama began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s seinen manga magazine Comp Ace from November 26, 2014.

Overlord synopsis from Haruhichan:

The story begins with Yggdrasil, a popular online game which is quietly shut down one day; however, the protagonist Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as “the most powerful wizard.” The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) begining to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

During the AnimeJapan 2015 event on Saturday, the first promotional video for the TV anime adaptation of Hirotaka Akagi’s Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai (Shimoseka) light novel series was revealed.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime PV, Additional Cast Revealed

Last month on the April 2015 issue of LaLa magazine, it was revealed that Sorata Akizuki’s (Seishun KouryakuhonVahlia no Hanamuko) shoujo fantasy-romance manga, Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair) will receive an anime adaptation slated this Summer 2015.

Gatchaman Crowds Season 2 to Debut This July, Staff and Visual Revealed

The official website for the Gatchaman Crowds TV anime announced on Saturday that the second season, Gatchaman Crowds insight, will premiere in July on NTV and other stations. It also launched a teaser key visual featuring familiar characters and “mysterious” new characters in front of Tachikawa Station.

Gatchaman Crowds is one of the five anime adaptations based on the original 1972 anime series Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. The 12-episode anime aired on July 2013. It was directed by Kenji Nakamura (Mononoke, Tsuritama), licensed by Sentai Filmworks and streamed on Crunchyroll. Only few of the characters from the previous season were announced to play their roles in the sequel. (More information will be provided soon.)

For this sake, SA Corp. creates a terminal service in order to retrieve Giftia that have gone past their service life. Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo Promotional Video Streamed

The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa’s Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) manga series revealed the anime’s first promotional video on Friday. The video previews the story as well as the opening theme “Kuchizuke Diamond” by WEAVER, and its ending theme “”CANDY MAGIC” by Mimi Meme MIMI.

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witcheswill premiere in Japan on April 12 at 11:30 p.m. on Tokyo MX. A special program will air ahead of the broadcast on April 5 and 6.

The series itself received an online OVA adaptation in 2013 on August 25, and 2 additional OVAs have been announced to be released in the upcoming release of the manga’s volumes. The upcoming TV anime will have the same cast as the OVAs, which includes:

Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) is a comedy, romance, gender bending manga series written and illustrated by Miki Yoshikawa. The series began in 2012 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine where a total of 14 compiled volumes have been released to date. The series received a 2 minute special in August 2013 and will be receiving two OVA adaptations that will be bundled in the upcoming 15th and 17th volumes of the manga, releasing on December 17 and May 15, 2015 respectively. The OVAs will feature an original story and a saucy hot spring scene with all the main characters and 7 witches.

Kiniro Mosaic, the second season of the anime adaptation of Yui Hara’s Kiniro Mosaic manga. This video reintroduces the characters of the series. While Love Plus sold over 180,000 copies within six months of its release in 2009, Tokimeki Memorial has inspired an anime adaption, remakes, sequels, and even mobile phone games since its release in 1994.

Synopsis of Koukou Hoshi Kageki from MAL:

The story involves a group of high school students at Ayana Academy, a school with music as its main focus. A trio of students are called Hanasakura-kai, designating the most talented from the music department. To get in, individuals must enter through a Star Frame class. The series tells the story of Yuuta Hoshiya*, Tooru Nayuki, Kaito Tsukikage, Shou Tengeiji, and Shuu Kuga as they aim for a position in the musical department after being spotted by Ootori, one of the Hanasakura-kai members.

Akatsuki No Yona Receives Original Video Animation

Today, it was revealed on the wraparound jacket of the 17th volume of Mizuho Kusanagi’s (NG LifeMugen Spiral) Akatsuki no Yona manga that it will be receiving an original video animation (OVA). More information will be released in the future issues of Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine where the manga was being published.

Akatsuki no Yona began in 17th 2009 issue of Hana to Yume magazine. There are currently 17 compiled manga volumes. The 16th volume was released on December 19, 2014. The 9th and 15th compiled manga volumes, Hana to Yume Issue 17-2012 and 18-2013 include Drama CD adaptations.

The fantasy romance manga received a 24-episode anime adaptation produced by Studio Pierrot (Yume-iro PâtissièreKingdom). The anime began airing on October 7, 2014 and is scheduled to end next week, March 24, 2015.

Oregairu 2 Premieres April 3

The official website for the second season of the anime adaptation of Wataru Watari and Ponkan8’s Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) light novel series has revealed that Oregairu Zoku, will be airing from April 2nd at 25:46 on TBS, effectively starting its broadcast on April 3rd at 1:46am JST.

The anime will debut on TBS at 1:46am JST on April 3rd, on CBC at 2:47am JST on the same day, followed by a broadcast on TUT on the 5th at 1:53 am JST and on April 8th on MBS at 3:30am JST. The anime will then be rebroadcasted on BS-TBS on the 12th at 1:00am JST.

The opening theme will be titled “Harumodoki” and performed by Nagi Yanagi while the ending theme “Everyday World” will be performed by Yukino Yukinoshita (Saori Hayami) & Yui Yuigahama (Nao Touyama).

The cast was also revealed earlier and include:

  • Takuya Eguchi (Kazuya Kujou in Gosick) will voice Hachiman Hikigaya
  • Saori Hayami (Ayase Aragaki from Oreimo) is back as Yukino Yukinoshita
  • Nao Touyama (Chitoge Kirisaki in Nisekoi) will return to voice Yui Yuigahama
  • Ayane Sakura (Kokoa Hoto in Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka?) will voice new character Iroha Isshiki
  • Haruka Tomatsu (Asuna Yuuki from Sword Art Online) will be voicing Orimoto Kaori

The series will feature new crew members, including a new director and animation studio. The staff are as follows:

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU) is a light novel series written by Wataru Watari and illustrated by Ponkan8. The light novels began in March 2011 and is published in Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint. To date there has been 9 volumes and 4 short stories published. There has been three spin-off manga adaptations written and illustrated by various people. The series also received an anime adaptation that aired in April 2012 that was animated by Brain’s Base (Baccano!, Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun). Additionally, a visual novel was developed by 5pb. for the PlayStation Vita that released on September 19th last year.

Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:

This romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hikigaya Hachiman with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he sees his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters: “They’re a bunch of liars.” When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds, “Not working.” A teacher gets Hachiman to join the “Volunteer Service” club, which happens to have the school’s prettiest girl, Yukinoshita Yukino.

The second season of the anime, Oregiaru Zoku, will be airing from April 3 during the Spring 2015 anime season. Further information will be released soon.

Non Non Biyori Second Season First Promotional Video Streamed

Media Factory began streaming a 80-seconds long promotional video for the highly anticipated second TV anime adaptation of Atto’s comedy manga series Non Non Biyori, titled Non Non Biyori Repeat, on Friday. Non Non Biyori Repeat will premiere in this summer.

The most recent issue of Media Factory’s monthly magazine, Comic Alive, revealed that the Non Non Biyori staff and the theme song artist, nano.RIPE, are returning to working together on season two of the anime, Non Non Biyori Repeat! As of yet, there have been no announced voice cast changes. nano.RIPE will perform the opening song.

Izaya has managed to trick Chikage who is now exposed to danger. The cruel reality is waiting for Mikado for having to stop the reckless Dollars members. On the other hand, Akane was being protected by Celty as they head back to Shinra’s place where she is reunited with Haruya. It seems all of the trouble over Akane is beginning to converge, but… Additionally, Masaomi is determined to find Mikado.

This new anime is part of the 10th anniversary celebration of the Durarara!! series, which began as a light novel series in 2004 published by ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko. The original light novels ended in January this year, but the creator of the series Ryohgo Narita, has stated that he will be begin a new series of light novels titled Durarara!! SH, set two years after the original’s conclusion. The first issue will release on April 10th. The light novels received an anime adaptation in 2010 from animation studio Brains Base. In addition, two manga adaptations were also released and a few visual novels. To date the light novels has a total of 13 volumes. and are illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda.

A manga adaptation by Akiyo Satorigi started serialization in the shounen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy on April 18, 2009. An anime adaptation began airing in Japan in January 2010. Two games based on the series for the PlayStation Portable were released, and a game for PlayStation Vita was released on June 19, 2014 in Japan.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan Anime Slated for 16 Episodes

A flyer has been distributed on Day 0 of AnimeJapan 2015 revealing that the upcoming anime adaptation of Nagaru Tanigawa and Puyo’s The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan (The Vanishing of Nagato Yuki-Chan) manga will be airing from April 3rd for a total of 16 episodes. The flyer has also revealed that there will be an additional OVA based on the series.

The official website of the anime has revealed the details and covers about the first upcoming Blu-ray and DVD release of the anime. The first volume will release on June 26th with the Blu-ray costing ¥6,980 (~ $60 USD) and the DVD costing ¥5,980 (~ $50 USD),  and both releases will contain:

The anime adaptation of the spin-off manga was made late last year. Anime store Docomo was revealed to be streaming the upcoming series, as well as the two other spin-off shows in the Haruhi franchise, The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya and Nyoron Churuya-san.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan is a spin-off manga in The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya franchise, where it stars the eponymous character Yuki Nagato. The series takes place in the alternate universe established in The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya. The series is written and drawn by Puyo, which started in February 2010. To date, the series has a total of 5 volumes with the 6th volume releasing on December 26th this year.

There is very little information regarding the anime announcement of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, including whether or no Kyoto Animation will produce it. Two other spin-off manga were also produced into anime: The Melancholy of Haruhi-chan Suzumiya and Nyoron Churuya-san.

First Live-Action Attack on Titan Trailer Streamed

The first trailer has been revealed for the for the upcoming live action Attack on Titan two part movies and boy does it look good. The first movie will be releasing in Japanese theatres this August and the second movie will be releasing in the following month of September.

In regards to the cast, producer Yoshihiro Sato had discussions with creator Hajime Isayama and decided to cast actors and actresses that could act and flesh out the characters rather than just looking like them. One of the new original characters for the film, Shikishima, will be a key character to the film being titled “humanity’s strongest man”. Isayama will be overseeing the story of the upcoming film. Higuchi has confirmed that the two films will be set in the same world and feature the same characters, though the film will also incorporate new characters and enemies. The films were filmed at Hashima Island in the Nagasaki Prefecture, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Ibaraki Prefecture and Toho studio.

The Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) series was created by Hajime Isayama. It started off as a manga in 2009 and is published in Kodansha’s monthly Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. To date there has been 14 compiled volumes of the manga. A prequel light novel adaptation started in 2011, and two spin-off manga started serialization in 2012: Shingeki no Kyojin: Before the Fall and Shingeki! Kyojin Chuugakkou. In April 2013 the series was picked up for an anime adaptation. The anime series was produced by the newly formed Wit Studios. The series has grown in popularity since the anime’s debut, with the manga selling over 36 million copies as of April this year. Two live action film adaptations will be releasing in Japan next year. The second season of the anime was earlier announced to air in 2016.

New Arslan Senki Commercial Previews Opening Song

On March 15th, 2015, the official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Tanaka Yoshiki’s fantasy novel series Arslan Senki began streaming a new commercial that revealed the opening song of the series, “Boku no Kotoba Dewanai Kore wa Bokutachi no Kotoba” which roughly translates to “These Words Aren’t Mine, They’re Ours.” The song is performed by UVERworld, a band that has previously recorded themes songs for Ao no Exorcist and Bleach. The ending theme song of the anime was also revealed. Named Lapis Lazuili, it will be performed by Japanese female singer Eir Aoi (Kill la Kill’s “Sirius”). The song will be composed by Yusuke Kato.

Arslan Senki or The Heroic Legend of Arslan is a Japanese fantasy novel series written by Tanaka Yoshiki. Tanaka began writing the series in 1986, and the series is still ongoing as of 2008. There are currently 14 novels and one side story published. It was adapted into a manga by Nakamura Chisato in 1991, but the manga caught up to the novels in 1998 and received an original ending. In 2013, it received yet another manga adaptation, this time illustrated by Arakawa Hiromu. The new manga is serialized in the Bessatsu Shounen Magazine. Arslan Senki was also once developed into a short film and a 6 part unfinished OVA (only 4 parts were released).
