Second Aldnoah.Zero 2nd Season Visual Spotted

Back in October the official website of the Aldnoah.Zero series released the first visual for the upcoming second season of the anime, which will air from January 2015. Today a new visual has begun advertising across Japan for the return of Aldnoah.Zero.

Aniplex USA also released a teaser video for the second cour of Aldnoah.Zero a while ago:

Aldnoah.Zero is a brand new original series created by Gen Urobuchi, the writer of the Fate/Zero light novels and anime, and Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica. The anime is directed by Ei Aoki who directed the Fate/Zero anime – teaming up with Urobuchi once again. The series is written by the “Olympus Knights”, a group of writers from Nitro+ (known for their science adventure visual novels) that is helmed by Urobuchi. Katsuhiko Takayama (Mirai Nikki) is the series composer, managing the flow and story of the series.

The character concepts are done by Masako Matsumoto (Naruto Shippuden) and the final character designs from Takako Shimura (Aoi Hana). The series features mechs designed by I-IV and Kenji Teraoka (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex), and the music is composed by Hiroyuki Sawano (Attack on Titan). The series is produced by A-1 Pictures (Sword Art Online, Fairy Tail) and studio TROYCA (new studio opened by Aoki). The first series had a total of 12 episodes and was earlier confirmed to be a split cour.

Aldnoah.Zero synopsis from Haruhichan:

In 1972, the Apollo 17 mission found a hypergate to Mars on the surface of the moon. Upon landing, astronauts discovered a enchanted utility later referred to as ‘Aldnoah’, giving the astronauts a status of superiority. Soon, many humans have relocated to Mars, and have adapted to the name ‘Martians’. After Princess Asseylum, a royal Martian princess, descends onto Earth in an attempt to create a treaty between both planets, a war breaks out between Earth and Mars, and Martian soldiers begin to descend from the sky, riding steel giants, intent on exterminating humanity.

Aldnoah.Zero will return January during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season. Further information about the second cour of the anime will be revealed soon.

One Piece Chapter 766’s Cover Page Is Dedicated to Naruto

With the recent final 700th chapter of Naruto being released earlier today, Eiichiro Oda has dedicated One Piece chapter 766’s cover page as a farewell to the Naruto series. Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto have been drawing in Shounen Jump Weekly together since the 90’s.

The first thing you may notice is Nami is wearing a dress covered in Konoha symbols, while Naruto sits behind her. The little fox has the Narutomaki symbol on (You can’t have ramen without Naruto, right?). The One Piece logo has been changed slightly, instead of Luffy’s silhouette as the I, it’s Naruto. The O is the Konoha leaf while the E has a shuriken on the middle stroke. The bowl Luffy’s eating from has 楽 on which resembles the bowls used at Ramen Ichiraku in Konohagakure.

When you read the letter of the menu, you can see the message “ナルとおつカレ三でした” which means “Thank you for your hard work, Naruto!”. Masashi Kishimoto also featured One Piece in Naruto‘s final 700th chapter.

Have you ever wanted to make a contract? Why not eat an adorable Kyuubey shaped meat bun to form one? Well known convenience store franchise LAWSON began to sell Kyuubey shaped meat buns on the 4th of November, for 165 yen (about US$1.53) each.

Images of Naruto’s Final Chapter Leaked

To top it off will all the character design leaks, some leaked images of the 700th and final chapter of Naruto have also surfaced ahead of its November 10th release.

The Naruto manga has been running in the magazine’s publication since 1999 and will be ending on the 50th issue of the year, wrapping up on its 700th chapter. The manga itself is wrapping up its final few chapters, and the anime beginning to catch up. The manga is also ending before the first release of the new upcoming Naruto: Shippuuden Movie 7 – The Last that will be out in Japan on December 6, as part of the franchise’s 15th anniversary. The film itself will be overseen by Kishimoto and features characters designs by him. There will also be a exhibition for Naruto that will open in Japan early next year.

Naruto is an original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga began in 1999 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where to date a total of 70 volumes have released, with the 71st volume releasing on November 4th. Since its debut the manga has sold over 130 million copies in Japan alone. The series has also received two TV anime series adaptation, covering the manga’s two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Both series were produced by Studio Pierrot. Additionally, a total of 9 anime films have released to date and numerous OVAs and specials. A light novel spin-off was produced by Masatoshi Kusakabe and released in 2002. Today, the franchise is one of Japan’s most renowned and one of the most popular anime/manga series outside of Japan.

Here is a synopsis of the original series from Haruhichan:

Naruto Uzumaki, a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja, lives in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf village. Moments prior to his birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi’s rampage, the leader of the village, the 4th Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.

Shunned because of the presence of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village. He strives to become the Hokage of Konohagakure, and he meets many friends and foes along the way.

The Naruto manga itself will come to end on November 10th, after a total of 700 chapters. And The Last Naruto the Movie will be out on December 6th and a new Naruto mini-series manga will be out in Japan in Spring 2015.

Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “the Last” Leaks Reveals Naruto’s Children

A lot of unconfirmed leaks have released recently for the upcoming Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” movie that reveals many of the new characters that will appear in the film, including the possible children of Naruto Uzumaki. Additionally, the official website of the movie have released new official character designs as well.

First up, the official website of Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” has released updated coloured designs for the film’s characters in their new appearances.

Naruto Uzumaki – voiced by Junko Takeuchi (Gon Freecss from Hunter x Hunter)

Hinata Hyuuga – voiced by Nana Mizuki (Fate Testarossa in Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha)

Sakura Haruno – voiced by Chie Nakamura (Kiyoko Madoka from Gilgamesh)

Kakashi Hatake – voiced by Kazuhiko Inoue (Ninzaburo Shiratori from Detective Conan)

And now it’s onto the leaks. Earlier this week a lot of new images and character designs from the upcoming film were leaked online onto a Chinese blog. Some of these new images are of already confirmed characters, but many of them are new characters, including the children of Naruto. These leaked images are unconfirmed though they share similarities with the official designs, above.

First up are the designs for familiar and already known characters, including Naruto in his Kyuubi mode and the other shinobi of Konoha.

The next set of leaks are of Hinata, who will be a big focus in the film. One particular image is interesting to say the least…

And here are the children of Naruto and judging by the likeness, children of Hinata as well:

And finally some designs of the possible villains of the film. They are somehow involved with the moon and connected to Toneri Ootsutsuki.

Sword Art Online II Anime Mother’s Rosary Arcs Character Designs Released

The official website of the Sword Art Online anime has released the character designs for the upcoming Mother’s Rosary arc, which will begin this Saturday.

The website has revealed new designs for the main characters in the upcoming Mother’s Rosario arc, They include:

Yuuki Konno – who will be voiced by Aoi Yuuki (Couvert Eschenbach Pastillage from Dog Days’, Meme Tatane from Soul Eater Not!, Varel Jin from Blade & Soul)

Asuna Yuuki – who will play a major role in this arc, voiced by Haruka Tomatsu (Haruka Takayama in Sakura Trick)

Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya – voiced by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Sora in No Game No Life)

Mother’s Rosary, is to be aired on November 8th, 2014. Mother’s Rosary is based off of the 7th light novel and features the Asuna’s duel against the mysterious and secretive Zekken for an Orginal Sword Skill.

Sword Art Online II synopsis from Haruhichan:

One year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.

That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.

Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.

The survey’s audience are aged 15 – 45 years old, both male and female, were allowed to vote on multiple series. Here are the results:

Attack on Titan and the Marvel Universe Is Getting a Official Crossover in Japan

Writer and editor for Marvel comics, C.B. Cebulski, has announced that an official crossover for the Attack on Titan franchise and Marvel franchise will be happening in 2 weeks in Japan.

He also tweeted a teaser image of Spider-Man swinging away from titans.

Youkai Watch 2nd Movie Announced

Youkai Watch is a role-playing video game developed and published by Level-5. The original game was released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on July 11th, 2013. An anime adaptation has been airing in Japan since January 8th, 2014 and is one of the more popular children’s anime in Japan’s Kanto region. More recently, a movie adaptation went into production and is planned for on December 20th, 2014.

Surprisingly, Toho, the distributor for the movie, has announced that a sequel is already confirmed. It is planned for release in the Winter of 2015. One of the major reasons a second movie is already planned is because of the huge amount of sales the tickets for the current movie, Youkai Watch: Taniyo no Himitsuda-Nyan!, has racked up. As of October 26th, 2014, over 700,000 tickets have bee sold in just 99 days of available purchasing. This is the highest number of sales the company has ever experienced.

Now, Youkai Watch fans can watch this movie without the fear and trepidation that the series will end here. For with their amazing love for the series, they have effectively bought themselves a sequel.

Top 20 Most Perverted Anime Characters

On an anime show, it is common to have one character that is a “lewd,” “erotic,” or “pervert.” One who tries to sneak in under a character’s clothes and so much more perverted actions that leads them to have a mark of hard slap in their faces. It might be a mark of shame but it could be a mark of victory for them too. And overall, there is a lot of perverted anime characters out there. An anime character database site, Charapedia, asked 10,000 anime fans on who is the most perverted of them all.

The survey’s audience is composed of 55.3% of female fans while 44.7% of male fans. 78% of them comprises of teens to fans in their 20s while the remaining 22% are fans over 30 years of age. The survey period was from October 23-29, 2014.

Komomo Confiserie Manga to End next Month

On October 5th, 2014, Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine is announcing that Minami Maki will end her Komomo Confiserie manga. Minami Maki, author of Special A and Seiyuu ka—!, has decided that there will only be two more chapters to her romcom manga about a spoilt princess and an accomplished patissier. The final two chapters will include color pages and the last chapter will be released on December 5th, 2014.

Komomo Confiserie‘s first chapter was released in the Hana to Yume magazine on May 20th, 2013. The story is based on spoilt princess named Komomo who is the quintessential bossy little girl. She takes a particular liking to a boy named Natsu, the son of her family’s favorite patissier, and frequently tells him to make her pastries and confections. This lasts until the boy moves to France. When he is away, Komomo’s family loses their high standing and wealth and Komomo is forced to live in the care of strangers and work part-time jobs, which she cannot do as she has no practical skills. After being kicked out of yet another job for being incompetent, she chances upon Natsu in the street. However, Natsu has changed into an accomplished patissier! How will this dramatic change in character affect their relationship?

Minami’s Special A manga was also adapted into an anime by Sentai Filmworks in 2008. Viz Media is currently publishing both Special A and Seiyuu Ka—! in the US.

Glico Presents Their Newest Pocky-Flavoured Snacks and Beverages

Anyone enjoy snapping a Pocky between your teeth now and then? If so, you might be interested to see what Glico, the manufacturers of the renowned chocolaty snack have in store for their latest creation.

For those unfamiliar with Ezaki Glico’s Pocky, they’re a popular Japanese snack purchased in small boxes or packets. They consist of a number of thin biscuit sticks, dipped in assorted flavors including chocolates, caramels and even a selection of nuts. Pocky is also quite a hit in the anime industry, you might have even spotted a few of your favourite characters gnawing through some, or sharing a “Pocky kiss”.

Earlier this weekend, Ezaki Glico announced via. an official press release that their Glico-ya Kitchen near Tokyo Station, will be serving Pocky-flavoured chocolate lattes starting November 7, 2014. According to their announcement, their Pocky-flavoured lattes share a distinct taste to the snack and that they’ve used the Pocky dough and chocolates to make up the raw material.

Glico-ya Kitchen will also be serving Almond Pocky cones, these can be described as chocolate scooped into a wafer stick with an Almond Pocky decorated over the top. The Pocky chocolate lattes will cost 380 yen (about $3.40 USD) per cup while the Almond Pocky cones will cost 210 yen (about $1.90 USD) per cone.

New Manga Apartments to Open in Tokyo

Have you ever felt a compulsive need to curl up with a large pile of manga and read through it all? Or perhaps you just want to search for a place where you can find and read a huge assortment of actual printed manga? Then a manga cafe might be the habitat you are looking for. Manga cafes are a type of cafe originating in Japan where people can pick and choose from a seeming endless array of manga and read them in relative comfort. People pay based on how long they stay in the cafe. Many manga cafes also offer additional facilities, such as movies/DVDs to watch, shower room, dart boards, magazines, computers and internet, music and CDs, nail salons, pool tables, newspapers, TV, ping pong tables, slot machines, tanning beds, and even mahjong tables.

However, a company called Soft Curve has thought up of an even more revolutionary idea. This “anime advertising” company has announced the creation of their new series of manga apartments! Soft Curve plans to construct ten stories or units of manga apartments in 3 cities, Akihabara, Nakano, and Ikebukuro. These apartments are meant for tourist and visitor use alone. Just as the name sounds, visitors will be able to spend their days as well as nights in and environment that will supply the tourist with around 2000 different types of manga. It will cost less that 5000 yen to stay a night in this fully furnished, fully equipped, and fully manga covered apartment.

But with so many different manga, how can one hope to find an apartment with exactly the right manga for them? Soft Curve has this issue covered. Each city’s manga apartments are aimed at a different readership. In Akihabara, apartments will have the latest manga news and information, in Nakano classic manga will be featured, and in Ikebukuro the comics will target the shoujo and jousei audiences.

The apartments will not have any hotel service or catering in order to reduce costs and make visitors pay less. However, people who live in the apartments will get discounts at restaurants and cosplay shops and for the latest toys.

Often, people visit cities like Akihabara to experience Japanese anime and manga culture. However, these visits do not last very long. Tourists come to look around and possibly buy a couple things. Soft Curve hopes that with the addition of their new manga apartments, these visits can become true vacations.

One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X 3DS game case cover:

One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X is a Nintendo 3DS game published by Bandai and developed by Ganbarion, and it’s the sequel to the Grand Battle! and Gigant Battle series. It is focused on the New World and more than 85 of its characters. The game features 4 player battles on a 2D plane, where each player chooses 2 playable characters to use in a Tag Team style combat system, referencing the Pirate Alliance theme.

The game will ship in Japan on November 13 for the suggested retail price of 5,690 yen (about US$56). First copies of the game will come with a “Grand! Revival” sticker, a “Grand! Revival” reversible package, a download code to receive three songs (“We Are!,” “We Go!,” and “Wake up!”) to listen to within the game, and a serial code to receive Chopper (increased intellect) and Black Tairo Turtle characters for the One Piece: Treasure Cruise smartphone game.

Shokugeki no Souma Website Launches with New Visual

The cooking manga Shokugeki no Souma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma) recently has an anime adaptation planned for 2015, and now the series’ official website is now online, along with a new visual on its front page.

Shokugeki no Souma was slated for an 2015 anime adaptation announced last month in the Shueisha’s Comics News magazine. The magazine has also revealed the first cast members of the upcoming anime. The main cast will include:

Makoto Furukawa (Kamito Kazehaya in Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance) voicing as Souma Yukihira
Sora Amamiya (Akame from Akame ga Kill!) will voice Erina Nakiri
Kana Hanazawa (Akane Tsunemori in Psycho-Pass) as Megumi Tadokoro

The first staff members of the production crew that will be producing the anime have also been revealed and are as follows:

Director: Takashi Watanabe (Freezing, Shakugan no Shana)
Series Composer: Hiroyuki Yoshino (Black Butler: Book of Circus, Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch)
Animation Studio: Studio Arms (Elfen Lied, Genshiken)

Shokugeki no Souma (Food Wars: Shokugeki no Soma) is a comedy, ecchi cooking manga written by Yuuto Tsukuda, illustrated by Shun Saeki with Chef Yuki Mirosaki adding recipes to the manga. The series began serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in late 2012 and to date has a total of 9 compiled volumes released, with the 10th volume releasing in Japan on November 4th. A light novel adaptation of the manga began in February this year in Shueisha’s Jump j-Books, written by Michiko Itou and illustrated by Saeki himself. The manga itself has sold over 2 million copies to date.

Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:

Yukihira Souma’s dream is to become a full-time chef in his father’s restaurant and surpass his father’s culinary skill. But just as Yukihira graduates from middle schools his father, Yukihira Jouichirou, closes down the restaurant to cook in Europe. Although downtrodden, Souma’s fighting spirit is rekindled by a challenge from Jouichirou which is to survive in an elite culinary school where only 10% of the students graduate. Can Souma survive?
