Aniplex began streaming the first promotional video on Sunday for the upcoming anime film of Satou Tsutomu’s Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School) light novel series. The film, titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Movie (The Irregular at Magic High School The Movie), will be a completely new work with an original new story written by light novel author Tsutomu Satou. Saori Hayami is reprising her role in the film as Miyuki Shiba, and Yuichi Nakamura is reprising his role as Tatsuya Shiba.

Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is a Japanese light novel series written by Tsutomu Sato, with illustrations by Kana Ishida. ASCII Media Works has published 14 novels under their Dengeki Bunko imprint since July 2011. There have been five manga adaptations published by ASCII Media Works and Square Enix. An anime television series adaptation by Madhouse began airing April 5, 2014. A mobile game titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: School Magicus Battle and a PlayStation Vita game titled Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Out of Order by Namco Bandai Games were both announced at Dengeki Game Festival 2014 on March 16, 2014.

Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale Film Visual

During the Dengeki Bunko Haru no Saiten 2016 event on Sunday the staff of the upcoming Sword Art Online anime film revealed the film’s title, Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale which is slated to air in Japan in 2017.

The film will feature the new VMMO Ordinal Scale that utilises the new Augma Augmented Reality device. Players rank up in the game by defeating monsters and using special items.It will have an original story, not adapting of Kawahara’s any previous work; set after the Mother’s Rosario arc, which was the third and final arc to be animated in Sword Art Online II. The arc itself was featured in the light novel’s 7th volume.

The event has also revealed that the two main cast members will return and also shows off the character designs of the film, done by light novel illustrator abec:

In a recent interview, Tomohiko Ito mentioned that the Sword Art Online Movie is currently being story-boarded and the completion of its scenario. He also explained that the movie will feature new characters, as well as ones periphery of the novels. In terms of the plot, he suggested that the story had echos of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

While the movie should please long-standing Sword Art Online fans, Ito says that it will also be accessible to newcomers. With a laugh he explained, they’ll laugh, they’ll cry, it’ll make a good date movie.

In addition to this, last December issue of Kadokawa’s Dengeki G‘s Comic magazine revealed that the upcoming Sword Art Online anime movie will be taking place after the events of the anime adaptation’s Mother’s Rosario arc.

The upcoming anime film based on Reki Kawahara’s Sword Art Online light novel series will have an original story, not adapting of Kawahara’s any previous work. It will be set after the Mother’s Rosario arc, which was the third and final arc to be animated in Sword Art Online II. The arc itself was featured in the light novel’s 7th volume. The first arc in Sword Art Online II was the Phantom Bullet Arc, which was featured in volumes 5-6, and the second arc being the Calibur arc, a side story in the series’ 8th Volume.

The Director of first two seasons, Tomohiko Ito (Silver Spoon, Seikimatsu Occult Gakui), will return to direct the film alongside Anime Character Designer Shingo Adachi (Working!!, Galilei Donna). Reki Kawahara will be writing the movie’s new original story.

Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale Film Slated for 2017 & Promo Video Streamed

During the Dengeki Bunko Haru no Saiten 2016 event on Sunday the staff of the upcoming Sword Art Online anime film revealed the film’s title, Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale which is slated to air in Japan in 2017.

The event additionally revealed more details about the film. “Ordinal Scale” is the name of a game after “Sword Art Online” and “Gun Gale Online.” The game uses a new augmented reality device called “Augma,” and the game was made specifically for the device. And You Thought There Is Never a Girl Online? TV Anime Ending Theme Artist Revealed

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of light novel Netgame no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? (And you thought there is never a girl online?) that Yoshino Nanjou will perform the show’s ending theme song “Zero Ichi Kiseki” (Zero One Miracle). Nanjo’s single CD with the song will ship on May 25.

In addition to this the first promotional video was recently streamed and previews the opening theme song “1st Love Story” by the five-member idol group Luce Twinkle Wink☆.

The anime will begin its broadcast on April 7th at 11:30pm JST on Tokyo MX. The series will also air on BS11 on the 8th at 12:30am JST and on Sun TV at 2:00am JST.

Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? is a Japanese light novel series, written by Shibai Kineko and illustrated by Hisasi. ASCII Media Works have published eight volumes since 2013 under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Kazui Ishigami began serialization in ASCII Media Works’ seinen manga magazine Dengeki G‘s Comic from August 30, 2014, and has been collected in a single tankōbon volume. Shingeki no Bahamut: Manaria Friends Anime Postponed Indefinitely

The official website of the upcoming anime adaptation of Shingeki no Bahamut: Manaria Friends (Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends) has announced that its initial April air date has been delayed, among other major changes.

The Shingeki no Bahamut: Manaria Friends (Rage of Bahamut: Manaria Friends) anime was initially slated for an April 1st broadcast, but has been postponed to various circumstances. It would appear during the Ultra Super Anime Time block, as an anime short. There was also a planned pre-screening event on March 20 that has been cancelled.

Barakamon Prequel Manga Handa-Kun TV Anime Slated for July

It has been revealed that the upcoming television anime adaptation of Satsuki Yoshino’s Handa-kun manga is scheduled to air this July on TBS. The manga is a spin-off of Yoshino’s Barakamon manga, which was adapted into a TV anime in 2014.

Barakamon is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Satsuki Yoshino. It started serialization in Square Enix’s Gangan Online February 2009 issue. The story follows Seishu Handa, a calligrapher who moves to the remote Goto Islands off the western coast of Kyushu, and his various interactions with the people of the island.

A spin-off manga, titled Handa-kun, started serialization in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine starting in the November 2013 issue. It takes place six years prior to Barakamon, focusing on Seishu’s life as a high school student.

A manga that takes place six years prior to the events of Barakamon, detailing the life of Seishuu Handa as a high school student—and a very interesting life it is.

The Ancient Magus’ Bride is a Japanese fantasy shounen manga series written and illustrated by Kore Yamazaki. The series is published in Japan by Mag Garden in its Monthly Comic Garden magazine. The manga licensed is in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment. A three-part prequel anime will be produced by Wit Studio.

Fate/stay night is a Japanese visual novel developed by Type-Moon, which was originally released as an adult game for Windows. A version of Fate/stay night rated for ages 15 and up titled Fate/stay night Réalta Nua (Irish for “new stars”), which features the Japanese voice actors from the anime series, was released for the PlayStation 2 and later for download on Windows as a trilogy covering the three main story lines. Réalta Nua is also ported to the PlayStation Vita. On October 28, 2005, Type-Moon released a sequel to Fate/stay night, titled Fate/hollow ataraxia. Its plot is set half a year after the events of Fate/stay night.

A manga series adaptation by Datto Nishiwaki was serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shōnen Ace magazine between the February 2006 and December 2012 issues. In 2007, the manga was licensed for an English-language release in North America by Tokyopop. A 24-episode anime series created by Studio Deen aired in Japan between January 6 and June 16, 2006. Sentai Filmworks has licensed the television series and re-released the series on DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray Disc. A Fate/stay night film was also created by Studio Deen and was released in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2010. A new Fate/stay night anime was produced by Ufotable, the first season of which aired from October 4 to December 27, 2014 and the second season of which aired from April 4 to June 27, 2015. Another Fate/stay night film has also been green-lit.

A series of light novels titled Fate/Zero, set as a prequel to Fate/stay night, were produced from 2006 to 2007. Three fighting games have been released: Fate/unlimited codes for arcades and PlayStation 2, Fate/tiger colosseum and its sequel Fate/tiger colosseum Upper for PSP. A PSP RPG titled Fate/Extra was released on July 22, 2010, and a sequel and companion game, Fate/Extra CCC, was released on March 28, 2013.

Fate/Stay night synopsis:

Rescued from a hellish inferno as a child and taught the art of magecraft by Kiritsugu Emiya, Shirou Emiya idolized his adoptive father. After his father’s untimely death, Shirou vowed to follow in his footsteps and fight for the good of the world.

Years later, Shirou lingers at his school after nightfall and comes across a battle being waged by two superhuman beings known as Servants. When one of these Servants tries to kill him, Shirou ends up summoning a Servant of his own, a knight by the name of Saber. Together, they become the final participants in the fifth Holy Grail War, a free-for-all battle carried out by seven Servants and their summoners, with the prize being a magical device that can grant any wish.

Based off the famous visual novel by Type-Moon, Fate/Stay Night chronicles the trials and challenges that Shirou faces as he enters a battle that he knew nothing about, but that may very well lead him towards the path of becoming a hero like his father… if he survives, that is.

The video ends with a teaser for the third part, Digimon Adventure tri.: Kokuhaku (Confession), which will open this summer. In the teaser, Patamon says, “Sayonara, Takeru” (T.K.), and Takeru replies by yelling Patamon’s name.

The film will open for a limited three-week run in Japanese theaters on March 12. It will also be available online for a fee on the same day, and theaters will offer an early limited edition Blu-ray Disc. The Blu-ray Disc and DVD will then debut at regular retailers on April 2.

The anime will be set 6 years after the end of the original series, and 3 years after Digimon Adventure 02. The newly announced anime will be produced by Toei Animation (Sailor Moon Crystal, One Piece) and follow 17 year old Tai who is currently in high school with Agumon.

Digimon (Digital Monsters in Japan) is a large multimedia franchise that was based on Bandai’s Digivice products, which first released in 1997. The toys were based on Tamagotchis, which were also produced by Bandai. The toys were seen as more female orientated products, so Bandai created a new line of products for a male equivalent. The first anime adaptation, Digimon Adventure, was produced in 1999 by Toei Animation. A film and TV anime were released alongside each other in 1999, the movie being a 20 minute anime produced by Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). Since then there has been numerous anime series, toys, figures, manga, video games and trading card games in the franchise. And this year, will mark the 15th anniversary of Digimon Adventure.

Heavy Object is a Japanese light novel series, written by Kazuma Kamachi and illustrated by Ryo Nagi. ASCII Media Works have published 8 volumes since 2009 under their Dengeki Bunko label. Oreimo Author’s Eromanga-sensei Light Novel Gets Anime

The Dengeki Bunko imprint published a handout that revealed that Tsukasa Fushimi and Hiro Kanzaki’s Eromanga-sensei light novel series will be adapted into an anime series.

Fushimi and Kanzaki are known for writing and illustrating the Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute) light novel series.

Eromanga Sensei is a Japanese light novel series written by Tsukasa Fushimi and illustrated by Hiro Kanzaki. The series began being published under ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Bunko imprint in 2013; five volumes have been released as of March 2016. A manga adaptation illustrated by Rin began serialization under the Dengeki Comics imprint in November 2014; the manga has been compiled into three tankobon volumes as of March 2016. An anime adaptation has been announced.

Eromanga Sensei synopsis from MAL:

The “new sibling romantic comedy” revolves around Masamune Izumi, a light novel author in high school. Masamune’s little sister is Sagiri, a shut-in girl who hasn’t left her room for an entire year. She even forces her brother to make and bring her meals when she stomps the floor. Masamune wants his sister to leave her room, because the two of them are each other’s only family.

Masamune’s novel illustrator, pen name “Eromanga”, draws extremely perverted drawings, and is very reliable. Masamune had never met his illustrator, and figured he was just a disgusting, perverted otaku. However, the truth is revealed… that his “Eromanga-sensei” is his own younger sister! What humans would call ghosts or monsters appear, and they come to be called “phantoms.” The main character, Haruhiko Ichijou, is a first year at Hosea Academy along with his upperclassman Mai Kawakami, who fights phantoms with the ability “Spirit of Five Elements,” Reina Izumi, who has the ability “Phantom Eater,” and Koito Minase, who fights phantoms in solitude. They experience the ups and downs of high school life before a certain incident leads them to the truth of this world.
