Boom Boom Satellites’ Michiyuki Kawashima Passes Away after Fourth Brain Tumor Relapse
The official website of the Japanese electronic music duo Boom Boom Satellites announced on Tuesday that vocalist/guitarist Michiyuki Kawashima (left in image below) passed away on Sunday, October 9 at 5:12 a.m. The singer had been suffering from partial paralysis as an aftereffect of his fourth brain tumor relapse.
Kawashima had suffered his fourth brain tumor relapse in August 2015. The band had cancelled concerts in Osaka and Tokyo last November due to his worsening condition.
Masayuki Nakano, the bassist for the band, left a comment, translated into English in the band’s official Facebook page:
At 5:12am on October 9th, BOOM BOOM SATELLITES’s vocalist Michiyuki Kawashima set off on the next stage of his journey. I imagine he is soaring around the world, finally freed from the restrictions of his body. His passing is not a tragedy, but the achievement of a lifetime goal and a happy ending. The love of our many fans supported Michiyuki Kawashima and BOOM BOOM SATELLITES on their journey, and we are truly happy and lucky because of you. On behalf of Michiyuki Kawashima, I would like to thank all our fans and colleagues again.
“Thank you for supporting us up until now. Live your lives with passion and energy and keep the music we made, the time we spent together, and the memories we shared close to you.”“One more thing, we are BOOM BOOM SATELLITES!!”
Boom Boom Satellites were a Japanese electronic music duo consisting of guitarist and vocalist Michiyuki Kawashima and bassist and programmer Masayuki Nakano. While their music can be mostly classified as big beat or nu skool breaks with heavy jazz influences, they are famous for the heavy usage of electric guitars in their music, and the final product often has a strong rock or punk influence. They are currently signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan, with whom they have released all of their albums in Japan.
They first debuted in Europe in 1997, and they released their ninth album Shine Like A Billion Suns in February 2015. The group has created music for anime projects such as Appleseed and Vexille – 2077 Isolation of Japan. They also performed theme songs for Xam’d: Lost Memories, Mobile Suit Gundam UC, Ninja Slayer From Animation, and contributed to Guilty Crown. Their latest and last song “Lay Your Hands On Me” debuted as the opening theme song of Studio Trigger’s Kiznaiver television anime, and the song’s EP single was the band’s last work.

Nintendo UK began streaming a new video for Pokémon Sun and Moon which highlights the two legendaries that will debut in the games, Solgaleo and Lunala, as they begin to battle each other. The video also goes through all the previous trailers, recapping the new Pokémon, minigames and locations.

The most recent trailer that unveils the evolved forms of the starter Pokémon:
This new trailer introduces more Pokémon and mini games:
Trailer that introduces Alola forms:
Here are the boxart for the games:
The three starter Pokemon in Pokémon Sun and Moon are:
- Name: Rowlet
Category: Grass Quill Pokémon
Height: 1 ’00 ”
Weight: 3.3 lbs.
Type: Grass/Flying
Starting Move: Leafage
The first of the potential partners is the highly adaptable Grass Quill Pokémon, Rowlet. This Pokémon can fly silently through the skies, sneaking up on its opponent without being noticed. It can attack its opponents using powerful kicks, and it can also attack from a distance using the razor-sharp leaves that form part of its feathers. Rowlet can survey its environment and turn its neck nearly 180 degrees from front to back, so it can see directly behind itself. When in battle, Rowlet turns its head to face its Trainer when waiting for instructions.
- Name: Litten
Category: Fire Cat Pokémon
Height: 1 ’04 ”
Weight: 9.5 lbs.
Type: Fire
Starting Move: Ember
The cool-headed Fire Cat Pokémon, Litten, is the next choice for a first-partner Pokémon. Litten’s fur is rich in oils and is immensely flammable. It constantly grooms itself by licking its coat, collecting loose fur into balls. It then ignites these hairballs to create fireball attacks. When the time comes for Litten to molt, it burns off all of its fur in one glorious blaze.
- Name: Popplio
Category: Sea Lion Pokémon
Height: 1 ’04 ”
Weight: 16.5 lbs.
Type: Water
Starting Move: Water Gun
The third possibility is the acrobatic Sea Lion Pokémon, Popplio. Popplio can create balloons made of water from its nose and utilize them to create a variety of different strategies and attacks in battle. This Pokémon is better at moving in the water than on land, and can swim at speeds over 25 mph. On land, it uses the elasticity of the balloons it creates to perform jumps and acrobatic stunts.

Kimi no Na wa. synopsis:
The story is set one month after a comet has fallen for the first time in a thousand years in Japan. Mitsuha is a female high school student who lives in a rural town nestled deep in the mountains. Her father is the mayor and isn’t at home much, and she lives with her elementary school-aged little sister and her grandmother. Mitsuha has an honest personality, but she doesn’t like the customs of her family’s Shinto shrine, nor does she like her father participating in an election campaign. She laments that she lives in a confined rural town, and yearns for the wonderful lifestyle of living in Tokyo.
Taki is a male high school student who lives in central Tokyo. He spends time with his friends, works part-time at an Italian restaurant, and is interested in architecture and fine arts. One day, Mitsuha has a dream where she is a young man. Taki also has a dream where he is a female high school student in a town in the mountains that he has never been to. What is the secret to their dreams of personal experience?

However, the school segregates the students based on their entrance exam scores, with the best students (known as “Blooms”) being assigned to First Course and the worst students (known as “Weeds”) being assigned to the Second Course. Due to the exams not accounting for his talents, Tatsuya is placed in the Second Course, making him an irregular student within the magic high school.
