This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the “Land of Dusk,” there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy. There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the “Dusk End,” the people devoted their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemic technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as “Central,” where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight. One of the heroes is a young man who researched alchemy in Central, the other a girl living in a small town on the frontier. This girl’s name is Escha. In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man’s name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. Kill Me Baby Voice Actress Ai Takabe Arrested for Cocaine Possession

10

On October 15, Idol and Voice Actress, Ai Takabe, was arrested in her home in Shibuya, after the Tokyo Metropolitan Police found her in possession of a small bag of cocaine, which she says she got from a friend. It is now known yet as to why the police raided her home in the first place, but, right now she is being held in the Metropolitan Police Women’s Detention Center until her trial.

Kill Me Baby va Ai Takabe Arrested for Cocaine Possession

Even though she has not received any sentence yet, it looks like she may not be able to receive any work. For example, her talent agency, Oscar Promotion, issued a statement saying they canceled their contract with her, the Kill Me Baby official website took her name off of the list of staff, as well as the section of the website which credited her for voicing the character, Agiri. The broadcasting company TBS, which aired Kill Me Baby also took her name off of the staff and cast section of their website for the show, and then Amazon Japan, who was going to stream Kill Me Baby, have now decided against it.

Kill me Baby Agiri

With any luck, the young 27 year old will be able to get off with a light sentence, which would include rehab, as well as a fine, however, it will be difficult for her to continue to find work in the entertainment industry of Japan once her sentence is served due to Japan’s very conservative stance on illegal narcotics.

United Nations Discuss Banning Explicit Manga and Games

51

Recently, the United Nations’ Special Envoy on Child Protection, Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, has begun to discuss the banning of manga that “depicts sexual images of children in Japanese manga.” She adds, “I accept that the freedom of expression argument should prevail when it comes to adult pornography.” During her speech, she asked for the Japanese government to clamp down on illustrations of children that contain sexual undertones, referring to mainly manga, as they are not currently illegal under the amendment to the law regarding the possession of child pornography.

ICMEC_Board

This amendment, which came into effect last year, made it illegal in Japan to possess child porn, so long as you had no plans on selling it or distributing it, but this year, in July, it became illegal to possess whatsoever. Although manga readers everywhere might fear that this will encroach on the materials that are discussed in their favorite series, and series still to be written, there should be no reason to raise concern as six years ago, similar talks were had between the United Nations and Japan, and nothing really happened.

For those truly interested interested in the entire speech, here is the hour-long speech where she outlines in detail what she wants for the Japanese government to do:

Prison School (Kangoku Gakuen) synopsis from Haruhichan:

On the outskirts of Tokyo stands Hachimitsu Private Academy, a storied all-girls boarding school for elite young women full of potential and good breeding. But as the new school year rolls around, one tradition is going out the window: For the first time in the school’s long history, boys are being allowed to enroll. But on the first day of school, only five boys make the cut. Kiyoshi Fujino, one of the lucky few, is thrilled by this discovery, his heart leaping with joy at the thought of being surrounded by all those girls, day in and day out. But little does he know of the shocking fate that awaits him.

Additionally, the director of the anime has noted that a second season of the series is questionable.
