Sekai Project Plans Kickstarter for Grisaia Translation

0

Sekai Project, a video game and visual novel translation company, announced on October 10, 2014, that they would be starting a Kickstarter Campaign in November to raise funds for the translation of Front Wing’s Grisaia Visual Novel Trilogy. The first game, Grisaia no Kajitsu, was licensed by Sekai Project in July.

Sekai Project’s first goal is to raise $40,000 and release Grisaia no Kajitsu. Most of this money goes toward paying for Japanese voices for the entire series. Sekai Project will also include fresh translations and new CGs in their planned release of the visual novel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WauF6Wx816o

At $80,000 Sekai Project will add Grisaia no Meikyuu, the fandisc and prequel to the first game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL1MO3c2SW4

At $120,000 donated to the kickstarter, Grisaia no Rakuen, the sequel to Grisaia no Kajitsu, will be added to the translation project.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2F5iHmzguM

Sekai Project is also proposing the stretch goal of $150,000 for the addition of Idol Mahou Shoujo Chiruchiru ☆ Michiru, the series spinoff in which the unpopular Matsushima Michiru wishes on a star to be a popular idol but is turned into a magical girl in the process!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9QX7kZ1Fj0

Finally, the stretch goal of $250,000 was proposed for the adaptation of the PS Vita/Mobile port. However, this is still in consideration.

Sekai Project will have a edition with the mature content uncut on their own platform. They are working to bring the all-ages version of the trilogy to Steam, but if Steam rejects the games, then they will release the all-ages versions on their own platform as well. Different digital editions of the game can be chosen after the Kickstarter ends; however, the physical versions of the 3 games will only be released as the mature uncut edition.

Grisaia-no-Kajitsu-Anime-Key-Visual

Grisaia no Kajitsu is a Japanese adult visual novel, the first in a series of visual novels by Front Wing, with character designs by Akio Watanabe and Fumio. This game was later ported to the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita. There have been two manga adaptations published by Akita Shoten and Mag Garden. An anime television series produced by 8-Bit began airing in Japan in October 2014.

Grisaia no Kajitsu synopsis from Sekai Project:

Mihama Academy – on the surface, a closed learning environment established to nurture students who find themselves at odds with the world around them; in actuality, an orchard-prison built to preserve fruit that has fallen too far from its tree.
Whatever the circumstances behind its establishment, Mihama Academy is at present home to five female students, all with their own reasons for “enrollment.” For better or worse, each girl has established a routine obliging of her current situation; life moves at an idle, yet accommodating pace within the walls of Mihama.
Yet with the arrival of the institute’s first male student, the nearly preposterously opaque Kazami Yuuji, the students at Mihama begin to fall out of step with their predetermined rhythms. Will Yuuji prove to be the element the girls around him needed to take hold of their lives once more, or will the weight of their pasts prove too steep a wall to overcome?
And in the first place, just who is Kazami Yuuji? While the true nature of the “job” he is wont to alight to at the most haphazard of moments remains shrouded in secrecy, one thing is for certain – his encroachment upon the quiet orchard known as Mihama Academy will prove itself momentous in one way or another. And of course, one cannot discount the possibility that perhaps Yuuji himself carries the weightiest past of any of the students…

More information including rewards for donating and project changes can be found on Sekai Project’s Prefundia! Future updates will also be released on their Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.

Shingeki no Kyojin’s Author Isayama Hajime Admits to a Secret regarding Armin Arlert

23

In the November 2014 issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) author, Isayama Hajime answered a series of questions from fans and gave us a rather sarcastic shocking answer in response to the Niconico meme (Niconico users posted comments like “Armin is the heroine of the series!” and “truly an angel!” when the series was airing).

Isayama answered 4 questions given to him by him by his fans; his first one making a pretty well standout over the rest.

Q: Out of the group of female characters in the 104th Trainee Squad, who did Mikasa get along with the most?
A: Armin

Q:104期生の女子で、ミカサと一番仲が良いのは誰ですか?
A:アルミンです。

Isayama makes it pretty clear that Armin Arlert is a female character. This of course sparked a huge rouse amongst Shingeki no Kyojin fans, Armin was never really questioned on his gender but for the word to come from Isayama himself is a complete surprise.

A: Sasha eats more.  She won’t lose when it comes to eating.

Sword Art Online II synopsis from Haruhichan:

One year after the SAO incident, Kirito is approached by Seijiro Kikuoka from Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Department “VR Division” with a rather peculiar request.

That was an investigation on the “Death Gun” incident that occurred in the gun and steel filled VRMMO called Gun Gale Online (GGO). “Players who are shot by a mysterious avatar with a jet black gun lose their lives even in the real world…” Failing to turn down Kikuoka’s bizarre request, Kirito logs in to GGO even though he is not completely convinced that the virtual world could physically affect the real world.

Kirito wanders in an unfamiliar world in order to gain any clues about the “Death Gun.” Then, a female sniper named Sinon who owns a gigantic “Hecate II” rifle extends Kirito a helping hand. With Sinon’s help, Kirito decides to enter the “Bullet of Bullets,” a large tournament to choose the most powerful gunner within the realm of GGO, in hopes to become the target of the “Death Gun” and make direct contact with the mysterious avatar.
