These Kumiko and Reina Cosplayers Are Ready for Valentine’s Day

2

The run of the popular summer 2015 Kyoto Animation anime Hibike! Euphonium hit hard for fans of yuri (girls love) anime. The anime features the two main female leads, Kumiko Oumae and Kousaka Reina, old friends from middle school reunited by music.

Cosplayers “However, the birds stay” did a photoshoot just in time for Valentine’s Day, featuring Kumiko and Reina brought together by the “red strings of fate.” The concept of the red strings of fate is based on the chinese legend that says a red string binds the fingers of two soulmates together, brought together by chance. The shoot is beautifully done with authentic instrument props and natural lighting in a set made to look like the highschool school in the anime.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator out in Japan on May 26th, Kum Haehyun Revealed

0

In the latest issue of the Weekly Famitsu, Arc System Works has announced that Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator, an updated version of Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign, will be due out in Japan on May 26 on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Additionally, the magazine proceeds to flaunt a brand new character that will be entering the roster: Kum Haehyun.

Guilty-Gear-Xrd-Revelator-Kum-02

Fans might be bummed out that an official reveal of what fan-favorite Dizzy will look or play like has yet to be shown, but how Kum is described to play might just satiate you for the time being. Don’t be fooled by the outer appearance because, as it turns out, it is a shell that Kum pilots (which you can see in the bottom-left corner).

Guilty-Gear-Xrd-Revelator-Kum-01

A rarity in Guilty Gear, she is expected to have an easier move-set in comparison to the vast majority of characters. Players will have to pay attention to her heavier play-style, although this doesn’t automatically mean that Kum’s a slower character like Leo Whitefang or even Potemkin.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator will have two alternate releases in Japan with a standard edition for 6,800 yen and a limited edition, which will include a “visual fan-book”, for 9,800 yen. Early adopters will also receive a download code for Kum Haehyun, joining new character Jack-O and returning characters Johnny Sfondi, Dizzy, and Jam Kuradoberi. North American players might not have to wait long after Japan as Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator is still expected to drop in spring 2016 for the region.

Spike Chunsoft Will Publish Danganronpa 2, Other Titles onto Steam

1

Announced only just five days ago, Spike Chunsoft – a Japanese publisher responsible for both the Conception and Zero Escape series – revealed they’d be self-publishing a port of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc onto Steam. Thanks to a listing on Steam’s database for its sequel, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, it was only a matter of time until they’d come clean on whether we’d see the series flourish on PC.

Speaking with Siliconera, Spike Chunsoft reassured fans of the eccentric visual novel franchise that Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair will be following suit in the near future. The company also noted that while they aren’t ready to announce anything furthermore, Danganronpa isn’t the only franchise Spike Chunsoft is hoping to bring over to Steam.

Perhaps we might not only just see the third-person shooter spin-off Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls or potentially the upcoming third incarnation, New Danganronpa V3: Minna no Koroshiai Shingakki, but maybe even J-Stars Victory VS or Zero Time Dilemma on PC? We can only hope, but, for the time being, we can enjoy Spike Chunsoft’s first venture onto Steam with Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc in February 2016!

To keep up with more updates, feel free to check out Spike Chunsoft’s official English Twitter and Facebook pages.

Gorgeous Sailor Moon Fanart

1

Needless to say, this famed magical girl saga has sparked many artists to create the sailor senshi in their own design. However, nothing comes quite as close to how magnificently captured these dazzling warriors are than this Chinese graphic artist and game developer from Beijing who goes by the name Sunmomo. Simply labeling these illustrious pieces of works fanart almost seems like a disservice. It’s hard to imagine these aren’t, in some way shape or form, official.

With an outstanding grand finals set at Genesis 3 between two of the most revered players in its prodigious community, Joseph “Mang0” Marquez and Adam “Armada” Lindgren, Super Smash Bros., as a whole, made a statement that 2016 is going to be explosive. Over 3,000 people registered for the glorious chance to take the throne from the seemingly unstoppable Armada and Chilean player Gonzalo “ZeRo” Barrios, a remarkable achievement that makes Genesis 3 one of the largest tournaments to date for Nintendo’s smash hit franchise.

Hot on the heels of an exhausting, though rewarding, tournament comes the announcement that Twitch will be hosting a Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U event at PAX South, dubbed the PAX Arena. Previously associated as Smash @ PAX Prime 2015, PAX Arena is expected to take place at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, TX from January 29th to the 31st.

Anyone who has purchased a pass for PAX South will have the opportunity to register for both titles and compete against an array of fierce competition, including such heavyweights as Jason “Mew2King” Zimmerman, Juan “Hungrybox” Debiedma, and even the aforementioned “God of All Time” himself, Mang0. Commentators such as D’Ron “D1” Maingrette – notable for his catchphrase, “DESTRUCTION!” – and Terrence “TKBrezzy” Kershaw will also be commandeering the commentator’s table, along with Phil “EE” Visu and Arian “TheCrimsonBlur” Fathieh.

Do you yearn for not just the pride and glory of besting a roster of legendary Smash players, but also the possibility of running away with some cash from a massive $10,000 prize pool? As long as you’re attending PAX South in San Antonio, Texas, all of that could be yours.

Those who are unable to attend the convention, or perhaps even the event, will be able to tune in at twitch.tv/paxarena. For more information, including a more extensive list of attendees and bracket assignments, check out smash.gg/PAX.
