Manga authors Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, known for their work on Death Note and Bakuman., have revealed a color visual for their upcoming Platinum End manga on Monday.

Platinum End manga colored visual

Ohba and Obata also revealed some details on the manga’s story. It will be a story of “a human and an angel,” which will center around Mirai Kakehashi, a boy who “does not seek out hope in order to live.” The series will debut in the December issue of shounen magazine Jump SQ, officially releasing on November 4. A special feature will premiere the beginning of the story in the 45th issue of Weekly Shounen Jump magazine on October 5.

Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata are publishing the second half of a two-chapter prequel manga for their Bakuman.manga in the 44th issue on Monday.

The two creators serialized the Bakuman. manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 2008 to 2012, and Shueisha published over 15 million copies of the manga’s 20 compiled volumes. The manga inspired three television anime series from 2010 to 2013.

The duo serialized the Death Note supernatural suspense manga in 2003-2006, and it has 30 million copies in print worldwide. The manga inspired three live-action films (including one spinoff centering on L), a 37-episode television anime series, and the recent live-action television series in Japan. The manga is inspiring a new movie next year.

Death Note also inspired a musical by a Japanese and American team that ran at Tokyo’s Nissay Theatre from April 6-29. Warner Brothers has been developing a planned live-action film in the United States.

TV vs Blu-Ray – To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd Season [NSFW]

17

The first Blu-ray volume of the anime adaptation of Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s To Love-Ru manga, To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd, has recently been released and a set of comparison images between the original broadcast and the Blu-ray release has been produced. Generally, the Blu-rays are better than the TV version, since they have time to reproduce scenes of the anime that may have been rushed to make schedules and deadlines. It is also the studio’s biggest avenue for profit. We have done a series of these TV and Blu-ray comparisons before so make sure to check them out here.

Note: Spoilers for the first two episodes of To LOVE-Ru Darkness 2nd.

The images on the left are the Blu-ray release and the images on the right are from the TV version.

Deliciously Brown Miku Comes Racing to Stores

6

A new version of everyone’s favorite blue-haired vocaloid was announced from manufacturer FREEing! What sets this version of Hatsune Miku apart is her golden brown skin that she apparently acquired cheering for Good Smile Racing in the warm and sunny Thailand. The pose seems kill two birds with one stone and is aimed at aficionados of both tanned skin and long legs. With her white outfit complete with gloves, high-heels, and headset contrasting her darker skin tone, this figure sits on a directors chair to highlight the second focal point of the figure: her long brown legs. If you are a fan of either aspect or just Miku in general, you cant go wrong with this figure.

Coming in at 150 mm(almost 6 inches) this 1/8 scale Miku will be retailing in April of 2016 at a starting price of 10,000 yen ($83 USD) and is already up for pre-order at most figure sites.

Here is the Opening video for the visual novel:

Rewrite is a fantasy romance Visual Novel developed by Key and published by Visual Arts in 2011 for the PC. It is Key’s 8th visual novel, following the success of Air, Clannad and Little Busters! Many key members of the staff return to produce the new game, including Itaru Hinoue (Air, Clannad) who once again helmed the project. Jun Maeda (Clannad, Angel Beats!) also returned to compose the music of the game, but did not write any of the scenarios. The novel also included new talent with Ryukishi07 (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Umineko no Naku Koro ni) lending a hand writing the game’s scenario. Rewrite was also ported onto various other platforms, including the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3.

Here is the synopsis of the VN from Haruhichan:

Rewrite is set in the fictional city Kazamatsuri where treeplanting and afforestation have caused the city to become overgrown with trees and flowers in much the same way that other cities are filled by buildings. However, while most of the city appears to be rural, there are many traditional city elements as well. While set in a modern setting, the city also gives off a strange sense of nostalgia.

Tennouji Kotarou lives here. He’s a high school student who has the ability to rewrite his own body; he can become stronger and faster at any time he chooses. He investigates supernatural mysteries with five girls from his school.

Masou-Gakuen-HxH-Anime-Adaptation-Announcement Image

The upcoming light novel volume of the series will be volume 6, releasing on October 1st. Whilst not much has been revealed so far, some information may be revealed in the 6th volume.

Here is the main visual of the series:

Masou-Gakuen-HxH-Visual

Masou Gakuen HxH (Hybrid x Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia) is a Sci-Fi, harem light novel series written by Masamune Huji with character illustrations done by Kurogin, and mecha designs drawn by Hisasi. The series began in February 2014 being published under Kadokawa’s Sneaker Bunko imprint with the 6th novel releasing on October 1st in Japan. A drama CD of the series was released in March, featuring Ayaka Kimura (Nao Yorihime from Yosuga no Sora VN) and Ryouko Tanaka (Yumiko Sakaki from Grisaia no Kajitsu). A manga adaptation of the series was also produced earlier this year, being serialized in Kadokawa’s Monthly Comp Ace since June.

Here is the synopsis of the series:

Hida Kizuna possesses the HHG (Heart Hybrid Gear) ability, but it is not strong enough to make him particularly important. His older sister calls him to transfer to a strategic defense school, where many of the students (many of which are large-breasted girls) use their HHG abilities to fight invaders from another world while wearing extremely skimpy pilot outfits. Kizuna’s fighting ability doesn’t measure up, but his sister has another plan– apparently having erotic experiences with Kizuna will allow the girls to replenish their energy or power-up. It looks like his new school life is going to be full of embarrassment.

An anime adaptation of Masou Gakuen HxH is currently in production. Further information about the series will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.
