Pony Canyon have given us a preview of the Sakura Trick T-Shirts that will be sold at Comiket 87 which will be taking place on December 28, 29 and 30, 2014. Each T-Shirt will cost 5,000 yen (about $41) each, tax included. Both of the shirts will only be in large size and will feature the design on the front of the shirt, not on the back.

Attack on Titan Bath Set to Be Sold at Comiket 87

With the next Comiket taking place on December 28, 29 and 30, 2014. Pony Canyon have given us a preview of the Attack on Titan merchandise to be sold at Comiket 87.

Each set retails for 3,000 yen (about US$25) and includes a special A3-sized poster of Eren Yeager, Jean Kirstein, and Levi, a spa tote and a waterproof smartphone pouch.

Mysterious Countdown Timer Appears on Angel Beats! Website

A mysterious countdown timer has appeared on the official website of Angel Beats! ticking down to 8:00pm JST on December 9th. Nothing is currently known about what the countdown will reveal. Though beware about the timer when visiting the site since it changes depending on your computer’s time zone.

The only information known about the news is that it is named Operation Countdown. Other than that whatever the big reveal will be at the end of the countdown is up for speculation. It could be a new anime series, a new manga series, a video game, news about the visual novel from Key (Clannad, Little Busters!), or an anime film.

Angel Beats! is a series created by Jun Maeda, which started off as a light novel series in 2009 that ran for half a year in ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki G’s Magazine. A 4-koma manga series was also created by Maeda that ran in the same magazine in the same year. In 2010, an anime adaptation was created by P.A. Works (Hanasaku Iroha, Another), which was also written by Maeda himself and directed by. The series received high praise and gained popularity, but was criticised for the lack of character development for many stories. A manga was adapted in 2010 titled Angel Beats! Heaven’s Door, which is an adaptation of the prequel light novel Angel Beats! Track Zero. Jun Maeda and Key, who are known for producing acclaimed and popular visual novels, announced that they were producing a visual novel on Angel Beats!, expanding many of the character’s backstory. Angel Beats! -1st Beat-, and its subsequent releases, will be written by Jun Maeda. A mobile game based on the series was also produced.

Here is a synopsis of the series from Haruhichan:

Otonashi awakens only to learn he is dead. A rifle-toting girl named Yuri explains that they are in the afterlife, and Otonashi realizes the only thing he can remember about himself is his name. Yuri tells him that she leads the Shinda Sekai Sensen (Afterlife Battlefront) and wages war against a girl named Tenshi. Unable to believe Yuri’s claims that Tenshi is evil, Otonashi attempts to speak with her, but the encounter doesn’t go as he intended.

Otonashi decides to join the SSS and battle Tenshi, but he finds himself oddly drawn to her. While trying to regain his memories and understand Tenshi, he gradually unravels the mysteries of the afterlife.

Nothing is known about the reveal of the Angel Beats! website countdown. Whether it’s a second season, spin-off, board game, dakimakura or pachinko machine, we just hope it is a massive reveal.

Ore Monogatari Anime Scheduled for Spring 2015

During an interview about Kawahara Kazune and Aruko’s romantic comedy manga, Ore Monogatari!! or My Love Story!!, it was revealed that the television anime adaptation for it is now scheduled for release in the Spring 2015 anime season on NTV. The anime was first announced in November 2014’s issue of Bessatsu Margaret and more information on it will be released in the January 2015 issue.

Ore Monogatari!! was first released by Kawahara the October 2011 issue of Bessatsu Margaret, a popular shoujo manga magazine. The original 100-page version of the story started off as a one-shot, but then returned to Bessatsu Margaret as a serialized work. Shueisha recently published the seventh compiled book volume in November 2014. The series won the Best Shoujo Manga award at the 37th Kodansha Manga Awards ceremony last year. It also received a crossover with Komi Naoshi’s hit manga Nisekoi.

amazarashi to Perform Tokyo Ghoul Season 2 Ending Song

On November 4th, 2014, Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine announced that the band amazarashi will perform the ending song for Tokyo Ghoul √A, the second season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime based off of Sui Ishida’s very popular manga that shares the same name. The song will be named “Kisetsu wa Tsugitsugi Shindeiku” and amazarashi will release a single for purchase on February 18th, 2015.

azaramashi is a band led by Hiromu Akita from Aomori. There is a very mysterious aura surrounding them, as they have never revealed their faces and use CG animations in their music videos. Not only this, when performing live, they have a unique style where they play behind a screen that covers the whole stage and projects various images to go along with the music. Their shows have been much talked about, and some say it gives the audience a sense of watching a film and enjoying live music at the same time. They have expanded their fan base by word of mouth, mostly through the internet, to such an extent that their latest album, Hey Mom, It’s Just As You Say, went up to the number 8 in the Oricon weekly album chart. They have attracted interest throughout the world and have won prizes at Annecy International Animated Film Festival in France, SIGGRAPH ASIA 2011, the world’s biggest computer graphics event, one dot zero 2011, a digital animation festival in London, and more.

Tokyo Ghoul √A will premier on January 8th, 2015, on the Tokyo MX station. Tokyo’s TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi will host an advance screening of the first episode on January 4.

On November 5th, 2014, the official website for the anime adaptation of Kawai Makoto’s cute girl cooking manga, Koufuku Graffiti, released new information on new cast member additions and the release date for the anime: January 8th, 2015 during the Winter 2015 anime season.

The newly casted Kobayashi Yu (Eucliwood Hellscythe from Kore wa Zombie Desu ka?) will play Tsuyuko and the also newly casted Nonoka Ai (Sakura Kyouko from Puella Magi Madoka Magica) will play Machiko Akira.

Koufuku Graffiti is written by Kawai Makoto and has been running since March 2012 in Manga Time Kirara. Manga Time Kirara has also serialized Gochuumon wa Usagi Desu ka? and Kiniro Mosaic.

Koufuku Graffiti (Happy Cooking Graffiti) is a manga series by Makoto Kawai. It began in March 2012 in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Miracle! magazine and has a total of 3 compiled volumes as of November 2014. The Koufuku Graffiti anime will air on January 8th, 2015 during the Winter 2015 anime season. The story follows Ryou, a middle school girl who lives by herself. She has a knack for cooking and makes friendships with everyone through her food. Tokyo Ghoul √A Reported to Have 24 Episodes

The upcoming second season of the Tokyo Ghoul anime will be 24 episodes long, according to a leak on the anime’s official chinese site. This website itself accidently leaked that there will be a second season of the series a few weeks before the official announcement.

At the time of this article, there is no traces of the 24 episode announcement on the website or any official confirmation since, so be weary of this leak despite the site leaking correct information in the past. If the series were to be 24 episodes long then Tokyo Ghoul √A will span two seasons, the Winter 2014/2015 anime season and the Spring 2015 season, starting from January and ending in June.

The upcoming second season will be based on a new original story written by Ishida, rather than adapting the remainder of his original manga. The series will once again be animated by Studio Pierrot (Naruto Shippuden, Bleach) and the majority of the cast and staff will return to reprise their roles. The second season itself will be airing from January 8 next year on Tokyo MX, before airing on TV Osaka, TV Aichi, TVQ, Dlife and ATX-1 in the subsequent days. There will also be an advanced screening session of the first episode on January 4 at the Toho Cinemas in Nihonbashi. More information about ticket purchases will be revealed soon.

The suspense horror/dark fantasy story is set in Tokyo, which is haunted by mysterious “ghouls” who are devouring humans. An ordinary college student named Kaneki encounters Rize, a girl who is an avid reader like him, at the café he frequents. Little does he realize that his fate will change overnight.

Whether the series will have a total of 24 episodes of new original content has yet to be confirmed. Tokyo Ghoul √A will be airing from January 8 next year during the Winter 2014/2015 anime season on Tokyo MX. Triage X is an ongoing manga series written and illustrated by Shouji Sato which began serialization in the May 2009 issue of Monthly Dragon Age. Shouji Sato hints on the cover flap of volume 1 that the reason Triage X was created was because of Highschool of the Dead‘s prolonged hiatus, thus in terms of content and theme, the two are very comparable.

Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata also known in the short form Saekano, is a Japanese light novel series by Fumiaki Maruto, with illustrations by Kurehito Misaki. Fujimi Shobo has published seven volumes since July 2012 under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. It has received a manga adaptation in addition to two spin-off manga adaptations. The anime television series adaptation by A-1 Pictures is scheduled to air from January 2015 on Fuji TV’s noitamina block.

Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata synopsis from Haruhichan:

The life of Tomoyo Aki, a highschool otaku working part time to support his BD hoarding. With remarkable luck, he bumps head-first into, Megumi Kato, the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. Naturally, the meeting twists his life into a complicated torrent of relationships. Eriri Spencer Sawamura, his half-foreigner childhood friend who’s always valued her relationship with MC. Sword Art Online: Lost Song 2nd TV CM Streamed

Bandai Namco have uploaded the second TV commercial for the upcoming Sword Art Online: Lost Song game which is planned to be released on March 26th for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. The new commercial previews the combat system in the game.

Kadokawa’s Dengeki PlayStation magazine also confirmed last month during November that Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment‘s Philia (voiced by Yui Ishikawa) will appear in the game. Philia first appeared in the Hollow Area of the earlier Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment game that shipped earlier this year.

Bandai Namco Games is localizing the game in English and Chinese for Asian markets. Bandai Namco Games’ Yosuke Futami stated that Sword Art Online: Lost Song‘s English translation will be better than Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment.

Bandai Namco also revealed a limited edition for the PS Vita version of the game. For 9,980 yen ($92), it will include a special box, special Blu-ray disc, soundtrack CD, special booklet, and 12 clear posters. The standard edition of the game will cost 7,120 yen ($58.5) on PlayStation 3 and 6,170 yen ($50.7) on PS Vita.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan Opening Theme, Staff and Visual Revealed

The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Yuu Moroboshi’s light novel Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan has revealed that voice actress and singer Iori Noizmu will perform the opening theme song titled D.O.B.

In addition to this, the website also confirmed the cast from the previously-announced drama CDs will reprise their roles in the television anime. The cast is as follows:

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan is slated to air next April, during the Spring 2015 anime season.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuu Moroboshi and illustrated by Yuka Nakajima. Fujimi Shobo has published five volumes since July 2013 under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation with art by Arisu Shidō started serialization in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive from July 26, 2014. An anime adaptation was announced last July.

Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan synopsis from Haruhichan:

The story is set in a world where humanity, driven off the land by the threat of magical armored insects, now live in aerial floating cities. Thus wizards—aerial combat mages who fight the insects with magical powers—came into being.

Kanata Age is a young man who lives on the floating wizard academy city of “Misutogan.” He was once celebrated as the “Black Master Swordsman,” the elite ace of the S128 special team; however, he is now despised as the “traitor of the special team.” One day, he is assigned as the instructor of E601, a team that has suffered ten consecutive defeats. E601 has three girls—Misora Whitale, Lecty Eisenach, and Rico Flamel—with one or two peculiar quirks.

Update: Fixed a continuity error

At the end of the the premiere of the Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” film manga creator Masashi Kishimoto has announced that a new Naruto film will be releasing in Japan in August 2015. The film itself will be set after the manga and will follow Bolt Uzumaki.

Kishimoto will be chief production supervisor for the upcoming 2015 film. He stated:

Even though the manga ended, I haven’t taken a break. I am currently thinking about a story between Bolt and Sarada. Sasuke and Sakura will be in it, too. I am also thinking about Bolt’s lethal technique.

Kishimoto will continue to work on the franchise until at least Summer 2015 before moving on to other works. Junko Takeuchi, the voice actress of Naruto Uzumaki stated:

“I can’t possibly guess what’s it about. But I’ll enjoy it.

The film will feature a new cast of characters that were revealed in the final 700th chapter of the original manga. Bolt is the son of Hinata Hyuga and the 7th Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. They also have a daughter named Himawari. Sarada Uchiha is Sasuke and Sakura’s daughter. There will also be a mini series manga releasing next Spring, following Naruto’s children and the new generation of Shinobi.

There has been no confirmation whether Kishimoto will be writing or illustrating the miniseries, tentatively called Naruto. Additionally, a series of light novels from Akira Higashiyama, the scriptwriter of Naruto Shippuuden: Blood Prison, will be produced next year as well. The first light novel will be focusing on Kakashi Hatake. The novels will be published by Shueisha’s Jump j Books imprint. The new projects are part of the Naruto Shin Jidai Kaimaku Project (Naruto’s New Era Opening Project) and includes Naruto Shippuuden Movie 7 “The Last” , which just launched in Japan, and a Naruto Exhibition that will open in Japan early next year.

Naruto is an original manga series created by Masashi Kishimoto. The manga began in 1999 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, where to date a total of 69 volumes have released. Since its debut the manga has sold over 130 million copies in Japan alone. The series has also received two TV anime series adaptation, covering the manga’s two parts: Naruto and Naruto Shippuden in 2002 and 2007 respectively. Both series were produced by Studio Pierrot. Additionally, a total of 9 anime films have released to date and numerous OVAs and specials. A light novel spin-off was produced by Masatoshi Kusakabe and released in 2002, and a manga spinoff, titled Rock Lee no Seishun Full-Power Ninden, began publishing in 2010 from Kenji Taira and was adapted into an anime in 2012. Today, the franchise is one of Japan’s most renowned and one of the most popular anime/manga series outside of Japan.

Here is a synopsis of the original series from Haruhichan:

Naruto Uzumaki, a hyperactive and knuckle-headed ninja, lives in Konohagakure, the Hidden Leaf village. Moments prior to his birth, a huge demon known as the Kyuubi, the Nine-tailed Fox, attacked Konohagakure and wreaked havoc. In order to put an end to the Kyuubi’s rampage, the leader of the village, the 4th Hokage, sacrificed his life and sealed the monstrous beast inside the newborn Naruto.

Shunned because of the presence of the Kyuubi inside him, Naruto struggles to find his place in the village. He strives to become the Hokage of Konohagakure, and he meets many friends and foes along the way.

Card Game Ange Vierge Will Receive an Anime Adaptation

Today, during the Fantasia Bunko Daikanshasai 2014 event that was held in Akihabara, Japan, it was announced that KADOKAWA’s trading card game, Ange Vierge, will receive an anime adaptation. The announcement was shown in the last screen of the event. Further details will be announced soon.

The vocal unit, L.I.N.K.s. has also held a live event with a talk show and by singing the game’s theme song, “Unite Light”. They were in new costumes matching their character.

Ange Vierge is a Japanese trading card game that was published by Fujimi Shobo and Media Factory. It was first announced in 2013. The game features various illustrators such as:

Kaito Shibano (Ben-To) – Illustrated Aurora (voiced by Saori Hayami),
abec (Sword Art Online) – Illustrated SW=Code Omega 46 Senia (voiced by Kana Hanazawa)

The game has received a manga adaptation titled Ange Vierge Linkage. It was written by Mako Komao and illustrated by Sakaki Yoshioka. The manga was serialized under Monthly Dragon Ace magazine. The first compiled volume was released on October 9, 2014.

Ange Vierge has also a smartphone app game for both Android and iOS named Ange Vierge Girls Battle: Second Discipline Committee.

Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Gets TV Anime and 2 OVAs

Today, it was announced on this year’s 23rd issue of Kodansha’s Itan magazine that Haruko Kumota’s (Nobara, Itoshi no Nekokke) historical manga, Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, will have a TV anime adaptation. Also, there will be 2 original video animation (OVA) for the series.

The first OVA will be bundled in the seventh compiled volume of the manga which will be released on March 6, 2015 and will be titled as Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Yotarou-hen (Yotarou Arc Part 1). The second OVA will be released on August 7, 2015 along with the eighth compiled manga volume and will be titled as Yotarou-hen Kou-pen (Yotarou Arc Part 2). The TV anime will debut after the release of the second OVA.

The next issue of Itan magazine (which will be released on February 6, 2015) will announce TV anime’s cast and staff. The first OVA have been casted:

When a certain man is released from prison, he knows exactly where he’s heading first. After falling in love with a traditional comic storyteller’s rendition of the story called “Shinigami,” he is determined to become his apprentice. The performer, Yakumo, has never taken an apprentice before, but to everyone’s surprise, he accepts the eager ex-prisoner, nicknaming him “Yotaro.”

As Yotaro happily begins his new life, he meets others in Yakumo’s life, including Yakumo’s ward Konatsu. Konatsu was the daughter of a famous storyteller, and Yakumo took her in after her father’s tragic death. Konatsu loved her father’s storytelling, and would love to become a performer in her own right—but that path is not available for women.

The manga began publishing in the Itan magazine on 2010. It currently has six compiled volumes published by Kodansha. The first compiled volume was published on July 7, 2011 and the sixth one was released on August 7, 2014.

The manga was nominated and had won several manga awards:

Diamond no Ace Receives Another OVA

According to one of the most famous anime retailing store, Animate Japan, the 46th compiled limited edition volume of Yuuji Terajima’s (Giant Step) Diamond no Ace will include an original video animation. The story of the OVA was not taken place in the manga, and thus an original. No synopsis have been added yet. However, the popular characters of the anime will still be gathered. The limited edition set will be released on March 17, 2015.

This will be the third original video animation of the series. The first OVA was released as a bundle of the 44th compiled limited edition manga volume on November 17, 2014. It was titled as Kominato Ryousuke Special Bangai-hen: Face and it appeared in the Diamond no Ace: Guide Book – Ura as a one-shot. The one-shot was published on May 14, 2014 as chapter 327.1. It tells about the moving secret story of the Kominato brothers that wasn’t seen in the TV series.

The second OVA will be released along with the limited edition 45th compiled manga volume of the series on January 16, 2015. It will be titled as Kuramochi Youichi’s Special Bangai-hen: OutRun. Just like the first OVA, this is an adaptation of a one-shot that is included in the Diamond no Ace: guide Book – Ura. It was published earlier, which was on March 17, 2014 as chapter 319.1. The OVA will show Kuramochi Youichi’s past.

The manga, Diamond no Ace, was published by Kodansha and was serialized by Weekly Shounen Magazine since 2006. There are currently 44 compiled manga volumes. An anime adaptation was premiered on October 6, 2013 and is still airing. It was announced that it will end on March 2015. The anime was produced by a collaboration of Madhouse (Hajime no Ippo, Chihayafuru) and Production I.G (Kuroko no Basuke, Haikyuu!!). It was directed by Masuhasa Mitsuyuki (Blade, Kobato.). The series has currently six DVD volumes and the seventh volume will be released on December 17, 2014 which will cover episode 25-28. There are also five released CDs and the fifth CD was released on December 3, 2014, containing character songs of Kominato Ryosuke and Kuramochi Youichi.

Diamond no Ace has also received a stage play adaptation and will be performed on January 23 – 31, 2015. The play will be set at Kinokuniya Southern Theater, Tokyo, Japan. It will be directed by Shintarou Asanuma.

Synopsis of Diamond no Ace from Haruhichan:

The story follows Eijun Sawamura, a pitcher who joins an elite school with a brilliant catcher named Kazuya Miyuki. Together with the rest of the team, they strive for Japan’s storied Koushien championships through hard work and determination.
