Fate/Grand Order is a smartphone RPG that is set in the world of Type-Moon’s Fate franchise. The game released in Japan in July, 2015 for Android and iOS devices. The game allows players to assume the role of a master where players can acquire a wide range of servants to battle in the Holy Grail War. The game itself has a strong emphasis on story progression. It features a scenario supervised by Nasu Kinoko, the original game’s writer. Takashi Takeuchi will be the game’s art director, and features character designs from numerous well known artists such as BUNBUN (Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica Black), I-IV (Aldnoah.Zero) and Huke (Black Rock Shooter).

Here is the game’s synopsis from ANN:

The story is set in the year 2015, during the final era over which magic still held sway. The humanity survival and security organization Caldea was established to observe the world that can only be seen by magic and the world that can only be measured by science — as well as to prevent the final extinction of mankind.

Thanks to the efforts of many researchers, the path of human history has been ensured for 100 years into the future. However, without warning, the realm of the future that was under constant observation by Caldea vanished. The extinction of humanity in 2017 was observed — no, confirmed.

The apparent cause of the extinction was in the Japanese city of Fuyuki in 2004. In that city, there was an “unobservable realm” which had never existed until now.

Caldea issued the Grand Order for a “Holy Grail Expedition,” to investigate, uncover, and possibly destroy the singularity that apparently will cause the extinction of humanity.

An anime adaptation of the Fate/Grand Order game is being produced and will broadcast before the end of the year. The first special will be titled Fate/Grand Order -First Order-. Further information about the anime will be unveiled at a later date.

Pokemon Sun & Moon Games Are the Best Pre-Selling Games in Nintendo History

1

Last Thursday Nintendo revealed that its upcoming new entry to the renowned Pokemon series, Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon, are the best pre-selling games in the company’s history. The game’s “Special Demo Version” is the most downloaded demo in the Nintendo 3DS eShop’s history. Having played the demo myself I can say that it reignited my love for the franchise and solidified my pre-order. The demo is just a short snippet of what to expect. It takes you through what we can assume is the beginning portion of the game where you’re set with the task of conquering the first trial. It also carries over the Ash-Greninja you get from the demo over to the Sun and Moon titles upon release, which is a huge incentive to play the demo.

Full Metal Panic! is a series of light novels written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Douji. The series follows Sousuke Sagara, a member of the covert anti-terrorist private military organization known as Mithril, tasked with protecting Kaname Chidori, a hot-headed Japanese high school girl.

Individual chapters are published on Monthly Dragon Magazine, followed by a paperback compilation released by Fujimi Shobo’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko. The novels are split between stories focusing on Sousuke’s mission as a soldier of Mithril and comedic side stories centered on his life at Jindai High School.

The series has been adapted into different media; including three animated television series: Full Metal Panic! by Gonzo in 2002, Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu and Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid by Kyoto Animation in 2003 and 2005 respectively. An OVA was also released in 2006; and five different manga series.

Here is the synopsis of the series from MAL:

Equipped with cutting-edge weaponry and specialized troops, a private military organization named Mithril strives to extinguish the world’s terrorism and all threats to peace on earth. The organization is powered by the “Whispered,” individuals who possess intuitive knowledge and the remarkable ability to create powerful devices and machinery.

Seventeen-year-old Sousuke Sagara, a sergeant working for Mithril, has been assigned to protect Kaname Chidori, a Whispered candidate. He is ordered to join her high school class and be as close to her as possible to prevent her from falling into enemy hands—that is, if he can safely blend in with their fellow classmates without revealing his true identity.

Sousuke, who was raised on a battlefield and has very little knowledge of an average high school student’s lifestyle, must adapt to a normal school life to safeguard Kaname. However, enemy forces have already begun making their move, and Sousuke is about to find out that the adversary coming for the Whispered girl may be a lot more familiar than he expects.

A brand new Full Metal Panic! TV anime is coming our way in Fall/Autumn 2017, titled Full Metal Panic! IV. Further information about the new adaptation will be revealed soon.
