At this point very little that comes out of Japan is surprising anymore, but somehow we manage to drift further and further away from God’s light. In the latest trend coming from the land of the rising sun (aka the land of the shameful son), a Sega (merchandiser for Love Live!) arcade has set up a wall with large posters of the show’s primary characters, as well as prayer mats and an altar to leave offerings before them. It sounds too crazy to be true but hey, photos don’t lie. Twitter user S1Amk visited the location and took some.
Well at least he isn’t Nico Nico Kneeling before worst girl.
Love Live! has spawned quite the fandom since its inception a few years ago and many fans pick up a character they like the most, deeming her their “waifu” or referring to them as best girl. It is a phenomenon fairly well known among the “otaku” community. Many of those who take part are somewhat “in” on the joke, and thus only partake out of irony. Others of course are a little too into it. Love Live! of course isn’t the only show with such a fandom. Some of us in the West (and probably many over there too, since they have to suffer it) find it absolutely cringeworthy – enough to even make the most annoying weeb’s eyes roll.
The original tweet is linked above. The news is somewhat reminiscent of the train shenanigans that took place several months back. What do you think of this new gimmick? Perfectly acceptable good-natured fun or pushing it too far? Let us know in the comments section below!

In addition to this, the official website of the Digimon Adventure 15th Anniversary had Davis (Daisuke) from the second season of the Digimon anime,Digimon Adventure 02, in its meta tags last May. This may hint that he might appear in the upcoming Digimon Adventure tri. anime, as well as any other characters from the second season.
Davis himself is the main character from Digimon Adventure 02 and this piece of information could hint that he could be appearing in the third season. This could also mean that other characters or Digimon from the second season would also appear and that the events that occurred in 02 could carry over. There is also a possibility that his name is there just for SEO.

Digimon (Digital Monsters in Japan) is a large multimedia franchise that was based on Bandai’s Digivice products, which first released in 1997. The toys were based on Tamagotchis, which were also produced by Bandai. The toys were seen as more female orientated products, so Bandai created a new line of products for a male equivalent. The first anime adaptation, Digimon Adventure, was produced in 1999 by Toei Animation. A film and TV anime were released alongside each other in 1999, the movie being a 20 minute anime produced by Mamoru Hosoda (Wolf Children, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). Since then there has been numerous anime series, toys, figures, manga, video games and trading card games in the franchise. And this year, will mark the 15th anniversary of Digimon Adventure.
Only time will tell whether if Davis or any of the other characters from Digimon Adventure 02 will appear in the upcoming anime. Shirobako is an anime television series produced by Warner Entertainment Japan and studio P.A.Works, which handled the animation. The series was directed by Tsutomu Mizushima and aired in Japan between October 9, 2014 and March 26, 2015.
