Tokyo Ghoul‘s author Sui Ishida is known for posting art on Twitter and recently he posted tribute for Naki’s birthday.
Back in December he was getting emotional about reading shoujo manga from authors like Ryo Azuki, he then shared a tribute piece to Amu Meguro’s Honey (or Honey So Sweet) from Bessatsu Margaret that recently moved him.

The official website for the recently announced original TV anime Haifuri has launched and has revealed the designs that Non Non Biyori‘s Atto is working on. The series is scheduled to air this April.
The main characters of the anime have also been revealed with the cast yet to be revealed, alongside their original character designs by Atto:
Haifuri is an upcoming Japanese anime television series produced by Production IMS. Yuu Nobuta is directing the anime and Reiko Yoshida is handling series composition, with character designs by Naoto Nakamura and original character designs by Atto. It will begin airing in April 2016.
A manga adaptation will be serialized in Media Factory’s seinen manga magazine Monthly Comic Alive.

With Japan having developed as a maritime nation, it became necessary to have specialized schools to teach skills essential to protecting the sea. The setting is one such all-girls school. The girls who enroll here study to become “blue mermaids,” through classroom instruction and teaching of practical skills.
“Blue mermaids” are women who pursue the ocean for their professional occupation. They live by the motto “In the sea we live, the sea we protect, and by the sea we go.” They must excel in their studies, but must also adopt an international mindset. They are the “Elite of the Sea,” and are expected to be knowledgeable of the customs and cultures of other countries as well as their own.
The HaiFuri anime is currently in production and is currently scheduled for April, during the Spring 2016 anime season. Additional information about the series will be revealed at a later date.
Japanese video publisher Bandai Namco Games have announced that the brand new game in the One Piece franchise: One Piece: Burning Blood, will be developed by Spike Chunsoft and will make its way this Summer to the PlayStation 4, Vita, PC and, for the first time in the franchise, on Xbox One.
One Piece: Burning Blood is being developed by Spike Chunsoft, who developed J-Stars Victory VS+. The game will feature high octane 1 on 1 battles with 2 supporting character, similar to CyberConnect 2’s Naruto Shippuden Ninja Storm series, and will feature more in depth combat than Koei Tecmo’s One Piece: Pirate Warriors series. Unlike the Naruto games, players will be able to switch out with the supporting characters, making the battles 3v3. There will also be different types of character playstyles depending on their Devil Fruit abilities. The game will feature many locations from the manga’s story after the timeskip, up to the Heavenly Demon, Donquixote Doflamingo, and his pirates at Dressrosa.
The game will be coming out on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation Vita and on PC via Steam. The game will be out in Japan on April 21st, and will be out in Europe on June 3rd. The game is slated for a June release for North America.

In addition to this, it has been announced that the first release copies will be bundling a download code for swimsuit costumes for the female characters Nami, Nico Robin, Boa Hancock, and Perona.
Similar to the Grand Battle! series, One Piece: Burning Blood is a 1-on-1 fighting game. It will focus on fighting and devil fruit abilities. Logia users will be able to use their powers to avoid damage. The game’s logo suggests that Luffy will be able to activate Gear Fourth in the game.
Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed the game last year at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia press conference. Spike Chunsoft is developing the game. Kouji Nakajima (One Piece: Pirate Warriors franchise, One PieceUnlimited World Red) is producing at Bandai Namco, and Hiroyuki Kaneko and Tairi Kikuchi are serving as director and game designer, respectively.
Bandai Namco Entertainment had also revealed plans to release the game in 12 languages: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Neutral Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

During Square Enix’s Active Time Report Vol. 7.0 live stream, the Japanese publisher revealed that the release date, price, and additional information regarding Final Fantasy XV will be discussed on March 30th. Dubbed “Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV,” the event will be hosted by internet personalities Greg Miller and Tim Gettys of Kinda Funny at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
Although the event will be live-streamed on Twitch and YouTube, anyone in the Los Angeles area can reserve a free ticket to watch Square Enix spill the beans live and in-person at finalfantasyxv.com/uncovered. In regards to the release date, producer Hajime Tabata reassured those who have been waiting eagerly for Final Fantasy XV that the team would not release so much information, only to say that the game would be released in 2017. Thus, he promises that the official release date will be within 2016. After ten years of waiting, it appears as if what we once thought was impossible will undoubtedly be made possible: we will be able to play Final Fantasy XV, in its entirety, this year. Yes, you heard right. This year. 2016.

At Game Party Japan 2016 – or as it’s better known, Tokaigi – the first footage for the next entry in the highly successful Project Diva rhythm-game series was unveiled on Japanese streaming site Niconico. Originally released as an arcade-exclusive under the name Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade Future Tone, this edition of Future Tone will port over the paragon of Japanese pop-culture over to PlayStation 4.
Among the three songs that were showed off during a demonstration, hosted by publisher Sega, were Junky’s “Sweet Magic,” tilt-six’s “Electro Saturator,” and livetune’s “Decorator.”

Although digital-only Japanese releases tend to be difficult to import, it would be surprising to see Sega decide to not localize Future Tone – what with Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 2nd netting a modest 109,000 units sold in the US. However, Sega could decide to skip Future Tone in favor for the flashier, newer title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X given the fact that both of them will be releasing within the same year, perhaps making the market surrounding Project Diva crowded in North America.
With Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X launching in Japan on March 24th for the PlayStation Vita and a 226 song list, there’s plenty of soak in if you’re a fan of the undoubtedly explosive, adorable Vocaloid characters – such as Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, and the Kagamine twins – and the equally stellar music that is produced from its expansive community.

Police found 80 pairs of men’s shoes inside the residence of the suspect.
Hiroshima Prefectural Police have arrested a 25-year-old male company employee in the theft of dozens of pairs of men’s shoes, reports Nippon News Network.
In November and December of last year Atsushi Kawazoe allegedly intruded into a residence of a 28-year-old man in Higashi Ward and stole two pairs of leather shoes.
Kawazoe, who has been charged with this strange theft, admits to the allegations. “I like the smell of men’s leather goods,” the suspect is quoted by police, according to the Fuji News Network. He added that it was innate desire to satisfy his sexual needs that encouraged him to commit the thievery.
A search of Kawazoe’s residence resulted in the discovery of roughly 80 pairs of black and brown men’s shoes. He told police that he targeted apartments in which the doors were unlocked.
Police believe that Kawazoe may also be the culprit of more than 10 similar crimes.

Capcom has revealed more information regarding the previously-revealed Attack on Titan arcade game. The four-player co-op game is titled Attack on Titan: Team Battle and will begin operation in winter 2016 during this year’s Japan Amusement Expo, which runs from February 19 to 20.
Attack on Titan: Team Battle is a four-player network co-op action game where players make use of the 3D Maneuver Gear to zip around the skies and kill titans one after the other. Of course, you can also play solo.
Japan is well-known for its wide variety of Kit Kats, with flavors ranging from New York cheese cake, wasabi, red bean, pumpkin pudding, and of course the all time favorite green tea.
Nestle Japan have revealed that starting from February 1, they will release a new flavor based on the country’s traditional rice wine, sake as it is known internationally.
The new Kit Kats contain sake powder which has been kneaded into the white chocolate-encased wafers, giving the chocolates all the flavor and aroma of a top-quality rice wine, while providing a light and refreshing aftertaste. The new variety will come in three-pack boxes for 150 yen ($1.24 USD) at convenience stores, while the specially designed nine-piece box will be available for 700 ($5.77 USD) yen from souvenir stores around the country.
Walmart is a North American store where you can get a little bit of everything, but now according to Publishers Weekly, the store is currently working with Diamond Book Distributors on making a dedicated graphic novel section in the store. Recently, Viz Media made a deal with Walmart to sell Tokyo Ghoul, Pokemon, One-Punch Man, and the Naruto Hiden novels in stores. The vice president of Diamond Book Distributors, Kuo-Yu Liang, stated in a detailed interview regarding Viz’s heightened stock that “[The Viz deal is] a great example of a lot of comics people working behind the scenes toward a much bigger project at Walmart. Walmart wants to be a part of this. Manga is first but other graphic novels are coming.”

While manga is a potential in this section, Diamond Book Distributors deals with comic book companies such as DC comics, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image Comics, Valiant Entertainment, IDW Publishing, and Dynamite. However, since Diamond Book Distributors does not handle Marvel or DC for retailers, that deal is still on hold. However, in 2014, Walmart sold editions of Marvel TPBs such as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Amazing Spider-Man, The Avengers: Heroic Age and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Avengers for $5. While deals such as this would be a hit among comic book fans, hopefully Walmart will be able to make it happen.

In addition to this, the official website for the upcoming anime film based on the Kantai Collection franchise launched a new visual last December. The visual was previously spotted at Kokusai-Tenjijo Station railway station ahead of December 29-31’s Comiket 89.
At the recent SummerKan Colle Naval event, it was announced that an anime film based on the Kantai Collectionfranchise is currently in production and is scheduled to release in 2016. The first main image of the film was also released. The event screened footage that features the Kan-musume characters Fubuki, Mutsuki, Yuudachi, Akagi and Kaga, Hiryuu Kaini and Souryuu Kaini, the four Kongou sisters (Kaini), Kitakami and Ooi, Chokai Kaini, Yubari, Mutsu and Nagato, Kako Kaini and Furutaka Kaini, Zuikaku and Shoukaku, Shimakaze, Kuma, and Ooyodo.
Last March it was revealed at the ending scene of the final episode of the TV anime Kantai Collection that the series will get a sequel. The announcement was made at the end of episode 12 on Tokyo MX with the text indicating “Sequel production confirmed!!”.
The Twitter account of Kantai Collection: Kan Colle has revealed that the 2016 anime film is not the previously announced second season, so there will be both a film and second season out next year.

Kantai Collection is an online, card battle, browser game that is developed by Dmm.com that launched in April last year. The game currently has more than 2 million registered players and was 2013’s top Twitter trend in Japan. The game centers around naval card battles, where naval ships are represented by “Fleet Girls”. Players battle against other online in an attempt to gain more cards and levels. The game has been increasing with popularity since its release, with a slew of merchandising being released after the game’s release; from tabletop games to manga, and light novels to this anime and the PlayStation Vita game Kan Colle Kai. An anime adaptation of the series was produced for the Winter 2014/2015 anime season, directed by Keizo Kusakawa (Akuma no Riddle, Dog Days) and animated by Diomedea (Shinryaku! Dengeki Online began streaming two new gameplay videos on Thursday for Bandai Namco Entertainment’s upcoming ACTION RPG game Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The first video shows the actions players can perform in combat. The second video shows a boss battle and the mechanics.
Bandai Namco Entertainment will release the game in America and Europe this fall. The game will feature Japanese voices with English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish text. Bandai Namco Entertainment previously streamed an English trailer for the game.
